Why do bosses in WZFF get to heal themselves?

Admittedly the hotfix has helped improve this game type tremendously. But it still needs a little work. ie Boss health regeneration. It’s pretty cheap how bosses that aren’t even Prometheian knights can sometimes regain some of their health after your team and you have legitimately worked to bring him down. I don’t see any watchers flying around enemy banshee’s or boss wraiths to heal them, so what’s up with this monkey-shine anyway? This happens often enough to be a problem and usually ends up costing us the game. Unless you guys have a legitimate reason as to why this happens I don’t like it. Either tell me how it’s not a problem or tell me how you plan to fix it…

It’s a glitch that happens here and there. I don’t actually have any theater recordings of it happening but it’s out there trust me. Happens to my bro all the time. I might be wrong but I think he has a recording of it happening…

I can vouch for him, it happens only occasionally. And not by a whole lot, I’d say about 10-15% their health glitches back up.

Buuuut when the boss is a bullet hungry sponge, this CAN be very agitating to say the least.

I’ve seen banshees heal themselves if left unattacked for extended periods of time.

I read somewhere that higher tiered REQ variant vehicles regain a bit of health if they are above 50% of the total health. Maybe this is applicable to AI controlled vehicles as well? This is considering that vehicles healing is a confirmed ability which I’m unsure about.

I too witnessed vehicule bosses regaining health and can confirm this point. Indeed it is a pain in the ***

I’ve seen 25 point bosses like stand alone elites and or ghosts heal quicker than I can damage them.

I even experience an elite healing quicker than what I could damage him with a sniper rifle. I emptied all my ammo once into the elite and his health never went below 90% which is defiantly not right cause in the same exact bosses I’ve had no issues using loadouts to take them on, on my own.

But I think the damage issue is each way cause I’ve also experience getting hit with some thing that should have 1 hit killed me but only took a 3rd of my shields. Things like promethean/elite swords, stickies, banshee and wraith bombs.

Even survived my vehicle blowing up a few times but I’ve even had the opposite with me getting shot out a tank and a banshee with out it getting destroyed. Or stickied.

instances I’m on about didn’t have a watcher

I can’t remember the name but there’s a Mantis boss that will start regaining health the moment you stop shooting it. Super annoying.

Yeah some of those elites are a pain in the -Yoink-. Unless you have a vehicle, it’s not worth taking them on if you’re on your own. Even a wasp is a risk as it’s easily damaged and takes a while for the main cannon to recharge. Whereas the elite’s shields go back up really fast

I don’t have any videos, but some of the bosses I remember seeing regenerate with no Watchers are:
-Malevian Armsmen
-Phaeton Helmsmen (All map variations)
-Banshee Raiders
-Various Sangheili bosses
-Soldier Commandos (Skirmish at Darkstar)

This is definitely an annoying issue. When teammates and I spawn high level reqs, get rekt, and then the boss gets back the health that we took away, odds are we’re gonna lose the frickin game. Which is frustrating as hell. Given some of the abilities of the bosses, it makes sense to have a slight regen. But not the entire health bar. Disappointing.

Once my team and I would have won a round of WZFF if Warden Eternal didn’t heal like, 20% of his health arbitrarily. No watchers around, just him. Really ticked me off.

He was literally one shot away from death, but since no one put in a shot after a certain amount of time it just came back.

Completely on this. I’ve seen it in all the vehicle bosses save for the Grunt Goblin. Mantises are the worst imo. You stop shooting them for 3 secs and they start regaining shields AND HEALTH. I’m fine with shields, that’s normal, but not regen health at the same time! Once we took down around 25% of the health of one of them in Darkstar and when it restored shields its health went back to 100%! It healed a quarter of health for not shooting it for 3 seconds! And that was because 6 out of the 8 players were dead, 1 was getting to him and the last one was covering from its fire. At the end the timer ended with all 3 of them almost intact! Are you -Yoinking!- kidding me?! They NEED to nerf that!

Dude when we get a game at Darkstar my friends and I will either leave or just -Yoink- around because that’s basically a guaranteed loss. The shield regen being one issue. But also enemy spawns on that map are ridiculous and makes beating them ridiculously hard. Defending the core? Impossible.

Bosses can simply choose to regenerate health.

I do the same but on Apex 7. Idk why but I always get the hardest objectives there. Round 4: Kill 2 Orange Wardens covered behind a huge rock in the beach. And even worse, imo the hardest objective in all WZFF: Round 5: Kill a Golden Grunt Goblin escorted by 20 Knights with Incineration Cannons only to, if you make it somehow, kill 2 Mythic Hunters protected by 75 Crawlers and some Soldiers in Ghosts Ultra. I’d also like to point out how many bosses take 15 seconds to spawn further reducing the already short timer to kill them. I think in these Rounds with 2 waves of Bosses they should reward you with at least an Extra minute after clearing the 1st one (cough cough 3 Wardens hiding at the home base cough cough.

I think I’ve beaten that Round 5 MAYBE 3 times lol it’s absolutely ridiculous. Even when I have my friends online and all four of us are organized and playing tactically, we still get our -Yoinks!- handed to us. WZFF is a great gametype but sometimes it’s just so OP and poorly designed that it’s not worth the rage. We’ll just switch to Swat lol

I see it a few times a night. I would say its more widespread then a glitch.

Some of the ghost bosses have healed randomly. It gets irritating when this happens because it is just a nuisance and a waste of REQs when you lose to it. I don’t believe the bosses should be able to heal it all.
