Before everyone starts pre-hating let me explain that this is meant as a serious question. I’ve been playing the game since Halo 3 days and it’s always puzzled me.
I’m in no way trying to hate on the ‘casual’ community. In a game where the only focus is to outplay your opponents, i find it mind boggling that certain players on the community haven’t understood the concept of the game and love nothing more than to explore the scenery while there opponents pick up the easy kill. For this thread i’ll be using my last game [[REDACTED BY MONITOR] as the example. All participating teammates have between 0.52-0.31 KDs, and there win rates are between 43-33%. Rather than focus on the extremely poor matchmaking system, i’m going to focus on the players themselves.
To start i’ll discuss the 1 kill, 30 deaths guy. Did he seriously have fun with this? Did he find this to be a rewarding use of 12 minutes of his life. I certainly didn’t. For him to hold this spot while he did literally nothing during the game, i find this absolutely pointless. The player learned nothing from his past mistakes and continued to fall for the same poor decisions.
Now to discuss the player and his guest. He has so much fun dying, he invited a friend round to die alongside him. With absolutely no focus on the objective, the enemies life, or anything to do with the game. This player and his guest spent the majority of there time hanging out at spawn but chose not to defend the flag, kill enemies are even look at them while they died.
Onto the teammate who actually got kills. Out of all of them this guy was clearly trying, but despite having less than half my personal play time has gained more deaths than me. At this point in time he has been a severe burden to several teams before me. While the other players went severely negative as well, they were relatively new to the game. This player has clearly not evolved or learned from his previous games and continues to be nothing but a burden to any unfortunate teammates to have him.
While i know i may be being a little harsh to them i can’t see any purpose in them playing the game. Without being able to outplay a single opponent you are rendered completely useless with what ever you choose to play. I am basically looking for a reason these people play so i can better understand them. Thanks in advance.
