First they dump splitscreen cause they think we care more about 60fps, then they make Forge online only and THEN they make Firefight (!!!) online only!!! Worst of all Halo 5’s campaign, the ONLY thing offline gamers can play, is the WORST CAMPAIGN OF THE ENTIRE FRANCHISE!!! Seriously 343, why??? Why neglect such a large portion of your fanbase???*
*Why do I get the feeling that the reason is cause as offline gamers have no reason to buy REQs, and therefore won’t buy REQs, 343 would rather all offline gamers just didn’t exist as they can’t make money off of them.
because they want that MLG eSPORTS ESL HCS QUICKSCOPE TRIPLE KILL BABY GET THAT FLAG JUGGLE online multiplayer. that’s the only thing aside from Forge that 343 put effort into during Halo 5’s development.

OH GOD, DON’T GET ME STARTED ON ALL THE E-SPORTS BS THAT 343 HAS FORCED DOWN ALL OUR THROATS!!!
I think the answer lies somewhere in the portion where you may be exaggerating how many people consistently play offline. I’m not sure if this was a blow off steam thread or what but I’m confident it makes more sense for companies to cater to gamers that have online capabilities than those who don’t.

I’m also not certain what’s been “forced down your throat.” Whether you like it or not, esports are a growing portion of gaming communities and a lot of people enjoy it. 343i advertises the HCS stuff, but it’s not excessive by any means.
I feel like I havent seen you around in a while Daxseven09

I have to say this. Finally got a Like and Quote from LethalQ! Woohoo, you’re a staple on these forums. Feeling like I’m stepping up…apologize for not being on topic. I got a little overexcited.
Sad thing is 343 stands to make a lot from offline players as if they decide to make actual dlc people would buy it. Just look at Bethesda, got me to spend $100 on skyrim. I’m not buying req just like I never bought any map pack for halo. Only bought 1 gold pack at launch to support esports not to give even more 343 money.

I haven’t been buddy. I’ve been playing and working, forums is third. One of these days maybe you and I will actually play.

You do realize that the future isn’t set in stone right? Why should we lie down and accept it when our complaints could stop this from happening?

To bad the pros don’t play on our servers. Things would get fixed really fast.

Exactly, they neglect offline gamers as a way to make money? If 343 made offline mode just as expansive as online, people like me would be happy to buy several copies of the game so we can get 8 players in the same room with 2 Xbox’s and screw around with lord knows what.
It might not be instant cash for them, but in the long run it will keep people happy and willing to stick with them longer then the MLG’s would.
MLG left at reach and almost left for good, yet I stayed for better or worse and have no connection to MLG at all. Think about that 343. “My ancestors smile upon me, can you say the same?”

Yes, of course I realize that, and there was a large enough outcry to change the XB1 always online aspect; however, I just don’t see the issue here, and I don’t see it changing. Is there really that large a population of Halo players who aren’t playing H5 because everything besides the campaign is online? I don’t think so.

Agreed. I would also add that if 343i showed up at my door and said “we can spend X time making sure offline players are satisfied or the same amount of time can be put towards online players getting extra features/support” I would put that time towards online players every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

Fair enough. Though I believe the issue is probably the fact that all you do get for playing halo 5 offline is the terrible campaign mode, where in other halo games you could at least mess around in customs, firefight, and some forge. I know that’s how I spent my halo days before I got online.

Yeah dude! I am pretty sure I just mentioned that. And that was the full force of the Xbox community. Not this small Halo Waypoint community. Don’t get me wrong dude. I criticize 343i all the time, ever since Reach, when they took things over. I’m trying to give y’all a little perspective, and my opinion, that online offline thing is the 21st century. Get with the times dude.

This. MS is pushing the online only front now more than ever. All major titles going forward looking to have the play anywhere lock as well. It’s a conspiracy.
