I get what you’re saying. It’s just worded a bit strangely
I check in to the forums every now and again to catch up with whats happening. I find replies like this and start to wonder why I don’t just spend the, ‘checking the forum time’ on ‘pat the dog time’.

Oh no I appreciate you expanding your point. I’m sorry when I responded it was my morning “let’s check the damage I caused from last night” tired reaction.
I do apologize for the rude response.
I have limited time to take a break and play some Halo. At the moment, I spend more time getting the MCC challenges, than I do on Infinite. This season has seen some pretty outstanding armour. My Reach and Halo 3 look pretty impressive.
That’s totally fair. Especially the limited time release SPI/Macworld/Xbox swag. As much as I’d love to go back to a time where there was only 7 armor sets (minus unobtainium recon), the dedication the MCC team put into making believable and fitting armor sets (as well as long speculated concepts like GRD) is just so special. Lot of real love went into that title’s development after such a botched launch experience.
I just wish it was easier to acquire points to spend in that title. The challenge system is honestly brutal and I was shocked to find out that after the first ‘prestige’ (for lack of a better term) that points are no longer awarded after leveling up.

Hey there ! I don’t know if hubby let you know on the X-Box, but he did get his ban lifted. He said he just can’t be bothered using this site anymore, that’s why he hasn’t made any posts. I was going to tell you about that puppies thread, but I see you posted over there. I was just wondering if you read ALL of my posts and the replies I got? After what happened, I wasn’t even going to play Halo ever again. The player who started the thread wrote a really lengthy explanation, I was quite impressed. I have also received friend requests on the X-Box and help tips. If you come back and see this, and if you haven’t already, that thread ended up really positive.

Hello from Australia !!
I think that’s what happens at times, the misunderstanding.
I am very new and I am liking the game.
I don’t regret hubby talking me into giving it a go ( after that little hiccup LOL ) !! ___
…
because most of the community doesn’t like halo 5 and no one outside of the community cares about halo 5. it’s not even worth porting to pc
That’s not even remotely true. EVERYONE used forge on Halo 5. Many people played it for just that. In fact multiplayer was the the loved part about the game.
It’s clear you don’t play Halo because the consusnes has always been
Halo 4 campagain good.
Halo 4 multiplayer bad
Halo 5 campagin bad
Halo 5 multiplayer good.
Your ganna tell me that all the YouTubers. Forge makers. Community btb lobbies didn’t care about forge? Forge was basically half the game. It ran playlists. It provided custom game modes. You name it.
That’s why forge is on the PC because of how popular it was
Halo 4 campagain good.
Halo 4 multiplayer bad
I really didn’t like the campaign in Halo 4.
The multiplayer was decent, but the maps weren’t good.

It might not be worth porting, but I would like to see a good port of it.
Maybe even a remaster or remake.
I come from the halo 2 era too. Well over 100k games, spread over 3 accounts, 1000s of hrs, all high 30s-40 (which for the people that didnt play h2, it was harder to hit 35 in h2 than 50 in h3, or onyx in newer titles). And i can most certainly say Infinite is MUCH closer to halo 2s feel than halo 5. by miles. Halo ce, 2, 3 were 3 of my all time fav games. Reach, 4 , and 5 did not play like halo at all. Reach was the better of the 3 and 5 slightly better than 4. But thats not by much. Keeping halo 5 as the backbone of halo would of made halo dead in the water. People returned to halo BECAUSE infinite is NOT halo 5 haha
Idk why they wouldn’t have have added h5 pc unless the decision was financially driven. I don’t know the numbers, but everything else would suggest why not have it n pc like other halo games. Maybe they’ll still do it at some point.
I think H5 forge had the best features and customization, but reach had better textures and theme/aesthetic for most things. So I think it depends on what you’re looking for as to which forge is best.
They should certainly have certain staples like coop, forge, proper working custom games, all the traditional games modes, MCC matchmaking search would be nice too. I think there could have been a little more customization upfront.
On the flip side, I dont think it’s fair to compare new game launch to a game that has had quite a bit of content added over several years (even if H5 had a little more at launch, plus most of the customization was filler to give content volume for the few pack system). I’ve never been sold on the games as a service release model, but it didn’t start with halo infinite in this franchise

Why not?
Many games have had more content at launch than previous games did.
They returned for much more than that and on top of that if you played a lot of Halo there’s no way that Halo infinite feels anything like Halo to you. But I guess the rose tinted glasses are strong. Classic is better. Halo 5 is better
Being brand new to all of this, I haven’t even played through all the games yet, so I can only give a first impression. I found the enemies in 4 and 5 to be radically different. My criticism is the knights in 4 and the soldiers in 5. The knights just disappear and reappear, sometimes right behind you. The soldiers just tinkle, tinkle, tinkle over there, then tinkle, tinkle, tinkle, back over there. It’s hard to describe, but for me, it sort of breaks the ‘rhythm’ of the game. I have only played a couple of levels on Reach and ODST, for the MCC challenges. It’s probably because I’m new and don’t know where they are, but having to find health packs feels like it inteferes with the ‘rhythm’ . I know Halo 1 has health packs, but they are suitcase size and you sort of walk right over them as you progress. I am starting to really like Halo 3, with the current challenges being 3 focussed, I have spent a bit of time on it and I do like it, except for the Cortana level, but I would say that’s because I’m new and it’s hard - LOL - I watch my hubby play the level and he just sort of runs through it, only shooting the minimal needed. I know I’ll get there. Well, that’s it, just wanted to give a run down from someone who hasn’t even played for 6 months yet.
Yeah they have, but context matters. I’ve seen the op post in other places and is often comparing halo infinite to h5’s current state while appearing to ignore the shortcomings of h5’s launch until someone brings it up.
The final state of a game like H5 is not like older games where it’s the base launch game with a few map packs and updates to fix bugs/glitches. So much more development/time/resources go into what people have grown accustomed to seeing as content with the game as a service or battle pass model with free maps/levels/etc. Also, for some reason people seem to forget what got live games to the point of abundance.
As I already said above, i think halo infinite should have launched with the well-known staples I listed, but that has nothing to do with comparing to h5’s current state.
I guess what I meant by not fair is with the idea that there needs to be a reasonable factor for managing expectations of a good enough amount of content. Halo infinite falling short with some of the game modes, forge, and coop are not what I want. Unfortunately, it’s not as simple as clicking a few buttons to port everything over from a previous title into a new engine.
I talked about Halo 5 because the launch was better. NOT the current product. Howevery the current product still has more
I’m not defending how Halo 5 launched if anything I’m saying infnite is WORSE
I just want to play the campaign for the most part, so I have to disagree. I do not like H5’s campaign, as such, I really do not want to leave H5 hanging around on my device and go through it just to play Infinite.
I don’t like either campagin but I do realize that most features that are on Halo 5 should be on infinite. I suggested it releasing as a different game but to release Halo 5 on PC
You’re right about the comparing launch to launch at the beginning, but the thread has developed to compare current halo 5 in to current halo infinite that’s basically still in launch. Sometimes the discussion has gone back to launch comparisons, but there’s been a lot of talk about about current halo 5 vs current halo infinite that hasn’t always been the original point of the thread.
I was trying to explain to the other guy why it’s not an equal or fair comparison to do that with the current development/release patterns that have taken over the last 7-8 years.
If you don’t think halo 5’s launch was very good and halo infinite’s is just worse, you could have had me fooled haha
To be fair. There’s a lot of moving parts to discuss.
So I get why it can be confusing
