I still don’t understand why the sentinels didn’t attacked us but the prometheans did before the didact took control of them. I thought it was nice though because I kinda like them.

I have no clue why the sentinels did not attackED you.
The Prometheans were trying to prevent that Didact from being released.
The Sentinels were probably trying to lead Master Chief to the Librarian. Protecting the Didact was the Prometheans mission, not the Sentinels.
The Didact was beguiling you into releasing him from his prison for the first bit of the game.
The Prometheans are naturally violent as a result of the way they were created, so they are inclined to attack you regardless of the Didact’s control.
The Sentinels are not Prometheans, they are simply Forerunner machines.

Also a reasonable way of thinking of it.
Oh I see, thanks guys!
After imprisoning the Didact the Librarian took control of the Prometheans. They fought you before his release because they apparently knew what he was up to and were attempting to prevent Master Chief from releasing him. Then when the Didact was freed he took control of them again, as was signified by their light colors going from blue to orange (they went from orange to blue when the Librarian took control).
The Sentinels, however, were under the Librarian’s control even after the Didact’s release (they also had blue lights) and she used them to lead Master Chief to a spot where she could communicate with her.
Note the prometheans didnt actually shoot at chief until after he entered the core. They sort of just stared at him like “dont you dare” when he was in the terminous, and the one he aimed at fled.
Its possible both the prometheans and the sentinels didn’t attack chief during the Requiem level because he was a reclaimer. It was only after he went down to the core that they registered him as a threat.
