I think it would be awesome if they made a, H3 anniversary… New forge tools, remade classic maps… Oh man I would love to play that!!!
A lot of people do want a Halo 3 anniversary, but I think the main reason is that despite the game being over 10 years old the graphics still look pretty good for its age, so a graphics overhaul would be pointless. Another is because MCC is already a huge game and adding an anniversary of Halo 3 would make the game even bigger. Also, Halo CE and Halo 2 were made for the original xbox, meaning after the servers went down you can no longer play multiplayer etc, 343 probably wanted to update it to current gen so that it could be introduced to more people and make the game more accessible. There is no reason to do that for Halo 3 as it is still easy to play a game of it on the original and MCC.
These reasons also translate to Reach, 4 and 5.

You are not wrong there, Halo 3 cut scenes in blur would be fantastic, who knows, maybe on Halo 3’s 20th anniversary.

That is actually a really good idea, maybe have it away from the main story but still during the human covenant war.

> Exactly. They could release it online via netflix/hulu or make it straight to dvd. Hell it could have even be a mini-series they could periodically release here on halo waypoint. But alas, I’m sure all that fancy animation is pretty expensive along with finding voice actors, and of course, blur would have to be interested in doing all this.
Yeah, But hey, we can dream.

> We sure can. Who knows what they got planned for Halo’s 20th anniversary.
The 20th anniversary will be Master chief doing a tour of America in a warthog protecting humanity. That or we carve the halo logo into the moon.

It still looks pretty good on MCC and with the current engine I don’t think there’d be too much of a difference in my opinion. I think they’ve had enough on their plate and rather work on MCC and Infinite. Maybe we’ll get 20 year anniversary or something and they’ll remake it with the slipspace engine.
Because it would be too OP and everyone will realize that it is the best Halo game.
I think the reason we got Halo CE and 2 Anniversary Editions was because, at the time, they looked very outdated compared to Xbox 360 games. Halo 3 was released on the 360, and since nearly every 360 game is supported on the Xbox One, and Halo 3 is already on Master Chief Collection, there isn’t much need for a remastered version. Halo CE and 2 Anniversary were made so that those games could transcend another generation of consoles; Halo 3 already has that in some regards.
But hey, maybe if we’re lucky we’ll get Halo 3 Anniversary on Xbox Infinite.
I think a overhaul would be great, but in due time. Possibly at the same time with the MCC version for PC or for it to coincide with the launch of the Series X.
Was just talking with a buddy about this today. Halo 3 on MCC is dead. Takes forever to get a game and you can pretty much only play slayer. I would’ve taken a H3 remake over MCC anyday
Halo 3A doesn’t seem impossible. I just hope that Halo 2A gets its own game instead being exclusive to MCC.
I think it will happen someday. Might be a good game to fill in between mainline games.
The original is (or will be) technically available on seven different platforms (Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox One MCC, Xbox One X, Xbox One X MCC, Steam, and Microsoft Store). Are the graphics really so bad that people need to spend years wanting another option?
It would be cool to have Blur do the cutscenes again, but as many others have said, the graphics aren’t so bad that it is unacceptable. Also, this probably isn’t the reason, but it may be because you can still play the old Halo 3 online but not Halo 2, and you were never able to play HCE online via xbox live. Also a lot of game studios only make an anniversary or remastered edition of the first game, and 343 probably only did Halo 2 Anniversary so people who already own all of the Halo games would have a reason to buy the MCC apart from convenience.
