To cut down on design and poorly executed helmet and armor designs, though I am not saying the entire collection they made is bad, I do like both Blue Team and Osiris’s helmets and armor sets, but I felt that whenever I have looked through the sets and helmets, they just don’t look realistic to me in any way shape or form and for some, they just don’t look like they would fit being in Halo in general. Then again I could be wrong but why wouldn’t 343I just add in all the helmets and armor pieces from the previous games to cut back on design?
I feel that it would have been better in the long run honestly.

They wanted to put their mark on the game, which I completely support. I like a lot of the designs.
Because every sensible armor designer in the UEG died during the Human-Covenant War and now we’re stuck with the people who couldn’t design sensible armor if their lives depended on it. Or at least that’s what I like to think.
A more serious answer would be that 343 has chosen their art style and are sticking with it despite it being fairly unpopular from what I’ve seen.
I understand that they wanted to add their mark to the game but honestly that’s being selfish, besides I honestly believe that most of their designs are horribly done and down right ugly. That’s why returning the older helmets and set that went with them, are better and could give people the nostalgia feel of what Bungie left behind.

Snickerdoodle, do you even have a real job outside of these forums?
I have only liked a single armor and helmet ive gotten out of 28(?) levels worth of RP rewards and selling EVERYTHING. And i dont even really like them, they just look the best so far. There is seriously nothing but ugly choices, i just dont get it.
The real kicker, for the love of god, is that there is no mark V. Are you Yoinking! me? No mark 5 in halo 5. The only helmet i could ever want.

I’d support that, if it didn’t feel like they were trying to be hipsters and going against things that already work very well. Still waiting on MK.V, a helmet that is very popular, but is going to get the H4 treatment and come later. Meanwhile, designs like Seeker make it into the game, where plenty have already called it the ugliest helmet ever.

I don’t understand and 343 apparently doesn’t care enough to cater to the fanbase it still has. Sadly I doubt, regardless of the amount of outcry for these, these will return and we will instead get these ugly design of what they think is armor. Reach had the right design going, Halo 4 and 5 just don’t look like what armor should look like. Who the hell wears leather???
Like Zancuran said before, 343 needed to cut down on the design and poorly executed helmets. See I would have to love to see some Halo 3 or Halo Reach helmets come back in Halo 5 at launch or in a later DLC for Halo 5, but you have to understand that it is going to take a good time to redesign these helmets that were in an older and less better looking game. Take the Halo 3 Security (Marathon) helmet for example. Bungie brought that helmet back in Halo Reach, but it looks WAY different from it’s Halo 3 predecssor because of the design. Halo Reach also was also on the right track for it’s armor design, Halo 4 & 5, ehh 343 gave it their best shot, but I think some of the armor in 4 & 5 look like a 5 year old made it. 343 does and doesn’t know what “True Halo” armor looks like. So if 343 wanted to bring all of the Halo Reach helmets back in Halo 5, it will take months to redesign all of them. Plus, 343 can’t do that because of the design of the helmets and what they think Halo armor looks like, but do remember that a couple made their way into Halo 5.

It should take just as long as their new helmets, it’s not like they are porting old helmets over to reconfigure them and change code.

Yea I remember that but I can hope for Halo 6 which I have doubt they will consider the option at hand and had in their own unique armor. I just would like to see our thoughts added in to their consideration and actually talk to us instead of saying otherwise.
Yeah I do know that, but would it be great if 343 just threw away their so called “New Halo Gen Armor” and just stick to what Bungie had to offer?

Honestly, you could argue you’re being selfish by not letting art designers have a crack at making new helmets and instead just recycling old assets in the way that YOU (not everyone) wants it. If you want nostalgia, play the older games.

Why should they? Why are your wants more important than someone else’s?

I didn’t say my wants were more important than someone else’s, all I’m saying is that 343’s armor design, kinda sucks.

No I would just like them to add all the previous helmets and set back to the Halo universe instead of just keeping the iconic ones instead and also add in their own. They shouldn’t just abandon Bungie work just because they want to make something their own, even though it was never theirs to begin with, they just continued it.

That’s my point though. It sucks to YOU so YOU want Bungie’s style back. But Timmy loves 343’s and doesn’t want 343’s style.
Do you see what I’m getting at?
Yeah you have fair point, and 343 should do that, I mean if they could stick to the Mark 5 & 6, ODST, Recon, and a few others, then add a couple more instead of adding their own.

Yea funny thing is, my argument could be supported by a lot of people on here because people find 343i design crappy and power ranger-ish. Im not going to argue my point being selfish, 343i should have just kept what wasn’t broken and if that was the case, LEARNT from the previous games instead of trying to make Halo “their” game.
