I mean he could have used them for humanity but instead they blew them up? Imagine they would have destroy the covenant and the flood, then humanity would have obtained the mantle 
With a parasite outbreak and the covenant who wanted them dead i doubt they would have had time or the choice to use them.

What about a slip space drive couldn’t they have salvaged one from the forerunner ships 
Theres allot think about when using ancient technology that humans have no idea about on their own ship. Like sizes of the drives, wheather the ship could withstand the radiation and temperature. Could even teleport half the ship the oblivion.
You wouldn’t replace a JTF22 from a F-15 with a 125cc

No I guess not just realized…why didn’t the flood use them? They had the biological material (covenant and humans) or were they just to weak?
The ships we’re inactive until anders activated them and I’m not too sure how far the flood can go when it comes to using human bodys to use forunner tech.
But In halo 3 the flood assisted Master Chief because they couldn’t stop the ark from fireing the rings but he could. So there’s the possibility they couldn’t use them at all or there was too much of a short time period for them to use them.

Oh your right! But how did they use them during the forerunner flood war?
They had forerunners they could infect to gain access, they also had the mendicant bias ai control all that forerunner tech. The humans inside the spirit of fire are far behind the current humans in regards to forerunner technologie and neither is isabel a specialist for forerunner tech
