Better value for money. Look at everything you get in Halo 5 Guardians. Arena, Warzone, Breakout (Competitive). An strongly interesting storyline. Forge (When it releases). Free DLC. Spartan Customisation (Idk if BO3 has that, I played the beta and I dont think it has custom soldiers.)
Got both but halo takes more skill and the multiplayer is way better
Halo will always hold the place in my heart for being the holy trinity of gaming.
However, I prefer Halo over CoD simply due to the fact that it seems like most CoDs are marketed to 15 year old boys. The same people who thinks its cool that they’ve been playing the same recycled game for 4 years.
I got booth, but Halo will be my favourite forever, the lore is just fantastic and the story in halo 5 is far more interesting than the bo3 story.

Growing up I was only able to afford one console and had to save a long time to get it so Xbox was where it was at. Now that those penny pinching days are behind me I have both PS4 and Xbox and buy a variety of different games. That said having grown up with this franchise it is a no-brainer as I love the lore of the series and enjoy each campaign and have fun in the multiplayer, so Halo will get most of my time.
I am lucky to have a wife that grew up a gamer as well playing Super Nintendo and N64 (she skipped everything since then, lol) and her first time playing COD MW brought her into the FPS genre and now she gets every COD game so to play together, I always pick up a copy myself.
Both Halo and COD have different things going for them and I enjoy them both for some similar and different reasons (i.e. Zombie mode in COD is a blast).

On a serious note, I will be play Halo 5 and Black Ops III as equally as I can. Some more than others on certain days ie DLC releases or clan events.
COD is very repetitive and usually I can’t tell the difference between the games. Halo, however isn’t repetitive and there was never any competition between Halo and COD.
Halo is simply the 1 and only game that is pretty much the best of the best.
Where as COD is simply the last game to choose and really the only time you’ll play it is if A. Your 5 years old. or B. You’re so -Yoinking!- bored out of your mind and you have no idea what else to play but simply COD.

along with fallout 4, because i see no reason to arbitrarily limit myself to one game when theyre both good
I am Hugh fan of Black ops so I am also getting it. However most of my time will be devoted to halo

I’ve been a CoD fan since MW3, so I’ll be getting both.
COD is just boring now - it should have stuck to WW2 onto different eras of modern warfare, the ‘realistic’ futuristic stuff got old real quick. A new COD being released each year doesn’t help either…
