Why have they remove the ability to change your arms legs and chest? Its a bit backwards. You lose out on making yourself different. Or is this only temporary?

It definitely feels like a step backwards. At least the arms and legs armor chances as a whole
While customization is limited, it allows 343 to design nearly 200 unique armor sets. It’s all about resource management. It was either have 175 unique chest pieces and helmets, or have around 30-50 sets of helmets, shoulder pads, leg armor, chest armor, and other little things like reach had. I think it’s a good trade off. And besides, all you ever really notice in the heat of battle is the helmet and maybe the chest piece
Does it really that matter when you won’t notice it in gameplay half the time?
Too much customization makes it non-special
For example in reach all i noticed in multiplayer was the helmet and the rest just melded together.
so i think that was the direction they took, helmet and everything else.

Over half the time lol. Can’t say I’ve ever looked at someone’s legs and arms while playing!
Even without legs/arms there is plenty of helmet/chest/visor combinations. Here’s some simple math that will blow your mind (175 helmets x 175 chest = 30625 combinations that’s a pretty slim chance someone will be wearing exactly what your wearing. This doesn’t include stance/armor color!!! Now if you want to get really crazy multiply 30625 x visor colors (43) = 1316875!!! Yah good luck matching with someone else haahahahaha who cares about boots man, i’m sure you’ll enjoy the game boots or no boots!
Eh, I don’t really care too much about that much customization. Helmet, Body, and Visor are enough for me.
The legs don’t matter to me, the customization now is good enough.
I feel like all Halo 5 (and 4) armor almost all looks the same. The Reach armors looked so different from one another, and the 4 and 5 armors just look like a mishmash of… stuff. Like, there’s so many random shapes and parts on the all armor that makes all look them all look similar to me, because it’s like that for almost every piece of armor. Just a bunch of… stuff, on it. And now they’ve even got variants of the same armor. I’d rather less choices that look more unique than more choices that look similar.
Customization was always more for me than for whoever was looking at me. I know I’ll miss the extra little customization features.

Not really. People keep saying 175 unique sets. Most sets are just reskins. Im not complaining but it is nowhere near 175 unique sets. Same with weapons and vehicles.
Now they can make each set more unique rather than a few generic looking arms and legs to go along with the chest. I used to be a little irked at the lack of customization but now I realize it’s for the best.

I hate this is as well. I loved customization in Halo 4 but when I’ve gotten MCC I was so disappointed by customization options… or rather lack thereof.
Halo 5 gotten a lot more… primitive. At least you still can change the armor OR helmet. Not single pieces but it could have been worse like with MCC.
Yah. “unique” sets are reskins. Like 3-4 of single armor variant.
They should have just made the skin paints customizable in other option and not to force us to unlock all the same things.
