Like I just don’t understand does 343 sit down in there meetings and go hey the champ rank was pretty useless let’s just get rid of it and make the ranking system easier than ever before…. The incompetence I swear….

I think the ranking system only feels easier right now because most people haven’t done their placements and it’s a new game. I expect the number of Diamonds and Plats to drop soon

Does it honestly matter that much? If someone was top 500 onyx, it would be the same thing.

True but it’s a better visual indicator to have champ IMO instead of 2000 onyx ranks…

They probably took it away because it’s not strictly accurate.
TrueSkill can only accurately sort the players into an exact order if they all play each other enough times.
With time zones and distances this doesn’t happen.
So why bother?
Unless they have some sort of ‘regional’ champ rating.
