Well especially seing how they set it up was interesting. The chapters of each episode, put together was a season. They seemed to have the idea of making a season 2 or even more that maybe you had to purchase, making use of all the amazing DLC maps that you can’t ever play online with anybody. Going around and doing all sorts of missions was fun! Spartan ops wad only boring when it was on the same couple maps with slightly different obsticles or things. It would of been absolutely awesome, but of course they just set up everything for Halo 5 and left
Only for Jul 'Mdama to die in Halo 5s first mission. Seriously bad story writing you have to admit.

Please no. Though I was disappointed that there was never a Season 2 of Spartan Ops, I’d much rather they bring back Firefight as it was in Halo: Reach for Halo 6, and build on the amount of customization that was present in that game mode.

Well I never finished all of Spartan Ops (I probably should considering it ties a little into Guardians) but for me it just became so repetitive. Plus they probably wanted to focus a lot on Halo 5 and MCC back then.
Spartan Ops had some fundamental design problems that hindered much of the player base from fully accepting it as a positive addition to the franchise.
No risk = no challenge. If you can’t lose, what’s the point? - Ripping areas of the campaign that were clearly designed with a purpose in mind, and using them for a different purpose that didn’t quite fit - Reusing areas too much - Eggheads. By which I mean the writing wasn’t the best

I understand but…
Spartan - Ops was in its first season is was still young it obviously and undoubtedly had some design issues but with a time and delevopment it could have been fantastic
Just because you can’t actually lose there is no point playing? Sorry but these kind of people are missing the point I play halo because it’s FUN!
The fact that the maps where ripped from the Campaign was an issue after the first episode I will agree, because they simply repeated them with varying objectives but this could have been resolved with a small environment development team and this would also allow them to release a new mapset for the multiplayer maps. ( Also 90% of the multiplayer maps are ripped from the Campaign and we play them over and over)
So sorry to have ranted but Spartan -Ops was well worth saving and shouldn’t have stopped at Season 1 lol

I guess 343i/-Yoink!- weren’t willing to invest the effort/money into salvaging it. It could have been fantastic, sure. No point dwelling in the past at this point.

I play for fun too. I don’t care about rank, or armor configuration, or my spartan’s armor color, etc. However, playing a mode where you literally cannot lose and there is no risk… doesn’t qualify as fun to me.

The difference here IMO is the areas ripped from campaign for maps were designed with two purposes. They are generally designed as multiplayer maps first and then worked into the campaign. The areas that were designed for campaign and worked into Spartan Ops didn’t get this treatment. For example, the campaign mission “Reclaimer” was clearly designed with the Mammoth in mind. Walking around in those areas on foot was unsatisfying and awkward.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts, it’s always fun to gather other’s opinions.
