Bodyshot doesn’t matter, it’s multiple hits with BR on the body too. Mangler is a one-head shot kill in tactical. Commando somehow is not?? Idk. I agree though, they should go back to having a BR only tactical playlist and if they REALLY have to have the other ones (which, i’ll admit, sometimes are fun. It FORCED me to get better with the sidekick lmao) then they should have a “Variety Tactical” playlist alongside it. Not just as the single offering.
I’ve. genuinely lost my comfort playlist and I know this is bigger than me but I would genuinely enjoy spending a good hour playing tactical matches back to back when it was BR only. It was almost meditative, thinking, watching, aiming carefully and coordinating calmly with teammates. Idk. Feel like pure crud just want her back (Br only tactical)

I genuinely have not played an oddball match in over a month while I was actively playing most days. I got a stronghold match the other day but just the one. It’s at the point where I just play fiesta or slayer lists because I know what I’m going to get!

I just submitted one. I play tactical/swat for years and this is just terrible. I get a BR game maybe one out of ten. Sometimes not even that.
Stalker has rockets red glare everywhere
The bloom for the sidekick is silly, so it is not necessarily skill. Where is the tactical in that in any way?
The mangler is a fight with a nail gun
The commando for tactical is silly.
BR or bring back the DMR or magnum. These variants are a mess.

Not sure what inspired them to make this change? Was there discussions about wanting this change or did someone just decide for the rest of us that this is what WE wanted? I have quit more games the past couple weeks than I have in my entire lifetime. I eventually get banned and stop playing for the night then back the next night. 20 years of playing Swat only and feel that time is sadly ending because this is NOT Swat. Maybe keep this crappy playlist and bring us TRUE Swat again!!!

There was no communication before the change to tactical slayer and still zero acknowledgement from 343. I was so excited to hop onto regular tactical again after work on the Tuesday that tactical ops ended. When I loaded into my first match my heart sunk when I loaded into a stalker rifle match.

Same, it was my birthday the day the event ended and I thought “this will be a nice present”, but then I loaded up with a mauler

Assuming they’re still doing weapon specific challenges - some chump whose primary concern is inflating playtime.
Agree on Manglers in particular. Not really a great fit owing to how little advantage a headshot provides with that weapon compared to just leaning on the higher-accuracy chance doubletap.
That said, and I’m surprised to admit this, the Stalker Rifle variant is downright awesome IMO. Just feels like a really nice fit sandbox wise on the SWAT formula. I’d actually be sorry to see that weapon fall out of the rotation, although I would prefer it be a bit more balanced out with BR and Commando starts a bit more prevalent (70/30 BR-Commando starts/Stalker starts sounds about right to me).
I haven’t had enough experience with Sidekick matches to have a strong opinion on it, but it does seem a little too easy to grab headshot with at short to mid range for it to be a nice, balanced option for SWAT. I feel like it was designed for the gunslinger medal where you just tear someone’s shields down with an AR and then do a fast swap-pop headshot with the Sidekick. Taking the shields out of the equation feels wrong for that weapon.

Just came here to complain about this. Got 2 stalker matches back to back. I’ll take a leave penalty for 10-15 mins instead of suffering thru those games. Tactical slayer is BRs only.

The stalker rifle is awful. It’s an alien sniper rifle imo. Put them in a sniper playlist where it belongs. All the variants suck, plain and simple. If they’re going to FORCE us to play with them, then let them come up every 8-10 games to spice it up. Right now me and my friends celebrate getting the one damn game of BR’s because we know we likely wont get them again. And THAT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE.

I like it for the reason it kind of forces you to learn how to use the weapon effectively since you’re stuck with it the entire match. Now I’ve played the game more this mode feels like a chore for weeklys. I agree with others, it doesn’t feel like SWAT. And I’d rather play Fiesta for the random loadouts as it’s fun to try to get kills with “bad” weapons.

SWAT is bad and having weapons that aren’t a BR make it better. That gun is mindless to use in this game
Biggest problem is the forced crossplay/cross-input in this mode.
For me with the rotation of different weapons it’s more funny. I like stalkers I do not like guns and manglers, because they are not in my DNA
