Why did they push pre-order if we literally get nothing and everything is on game pass? 👎

Just curious. I know we are way past launch but, I still feel I wasted $60… like, can we at least get an armor set?

Um, sorry, but… (I don’t mean to sound rude) you’re not going to garner much sympathy if you didn’t like what you pre-ordered. If you didn’t want to spend $60.00 right out of the gate, maybe you shouldn’t have ‘impulse bought’ the game and waited a bit to see if it eventually included everything you wanted beforehand. :man_shrugging:

I get it. I’m also, not looking for sympathy. Just, what happened to the standard? Like, why is it acceptable in the first place? dk, maybe I’m just old and have higher expectations as I’ve been playing since the original Xbox and the huge controllers. I just wish we got something. Pre-orders once stood for something :man_shrugging:

If I was you, I would damper those expectations in ‘2022’, or you’ll end up habitually disappointed. Usually if a ‘pre-order’ has special bonus content, it will be announced or packaged separately in a different game bundle. What I’ve seen a lot of games do now is offer ‘temporary pre-order exclusive content’ that can be unlocked by everyone else who didn’t ‘pre-order’ in ‘3-6’ months; that way people who ‘pre-ordered’ get something ‘cool’ like a special outfit, or colors or something, but only as ‘temporary exclusive content.’

Why does the multiplayer content from the campaign feel bland? ‘343’ was probably told by ‘Corporate’ to strip the armor from the ‘Mjolnir Armor Lockers’ and put all of it in the ‘multiplayer store’ for sale, while replacing ‘said armor’ with watered down armor, vehicle, and weapon coatings (hence no actual armor pieces in the armor lockers).

That is why I never pre-order anything. I’ll occasionally get an ‘EA’ (‘early access’) game on ‘Steam’ which is generally subject to major changes along the way, but that is after doing extensive research on whether or not I would enjoy playing it.

It is always going to be a risk ‘pre-ordering’ a game or paying for an ‘early access’ game. Also, the ‘Devs’ won’t change anything if their methods are working (since you pre-ordered, they already got their money and probably don’t care after-the-fact).

Thats why last minute I canceled My order… figured since im already paying for gamepass

It’s only good for retail specific pre-order bonuses anymore, especially Xbox.

Retailers, and Microsoft push pre-ordering because it’s a guaranteed sale. What business doesn’t want a guaranteed sale? But with the direction game pass is going, I would expect to see this model start to trickle out.

I did get a nice coating from my Amazon pre-order, for whatever that’s worth. I still think $60 for the campaign was a steal.

It’s normal for any company to push pre-orders pretty hard. Even games that don’t have any bonus (physical or digital) are pushed on the pre-orders.

I’m torn on what I like more: Pre-order bonuses that I’m lucky to get because I pre-ordered before they sold out, or pre-order bonuses that show up for purchases/free later. One example I always laugh about is Disgaea 4 and the Fallen Angel Flonne character. She was pre-order exclusive, yet she’s in the official strategy guide like all other playable characters! Sad day for everyone who didn’t pre-order the game on PS3… (until they released + complete on Switch)
