Why did my thread get locked?

Ask a general question, got some troll anti-asian and pro-white comments…

I know Halo isn’t about race but plans for an AAPI Nameplate would’ve been cool.

Hermit made it pretty clear he was only locking the thread to avoid it being a lightning rod for other monitor-requiring activity and apologised for locking it.

Unfortunately that’s sometimes going to be necessary to avoid letting the trolls take over the asylum.

I also agree with the thread’s original thrust. I definitely appreciate the Awareness month (but likewise it does seem quite an US-specific thing as Microsoft is the only place I’ve seen any mention of it). Always good to see awareness raised however.

I thought the responses on the post were spot on. Although they could have worded it in a more constructive way. To flag those as inappropriate is just sad, and speaks volumes on todays social climate. They could have at least flagged them for being non-constructive.

And to OP it wasn’t anti-asian or pro-white trolls. Perhaps these ideas actually divide us more as people rather than bring us together. Instead of seeing people as asian, or a different race, We should see ourselves as equals.

This was answered when I locked the thread. Feel free to PM one of us in accordance with the rules if you have a question about moderation decisions.
