why did i waste money on the map packs?

I spent 30 bucks on live points for the map packs, and I’ve been playing for a couple days now and none of the maps i’ve purchased have been played on in multiplayer?

Am I doing something wrong, this is kind of a disappointment…please tell me if i’m wrong

please note i haven’t got the cea map pack yet

Get the CEA Map pack. And the 2 map packs come up in Matchmaking Sometimes. Sorry

There’s the SQUAD DLC playlist you can play the maps in there.

You are not doing something wrong, a playlist that contained just the Noble and Defiant mappacks was ousted. I can only assume that the newest playlist, the TU beta (nobody payed a dime for that tresure trove of fun) was put in its place or the Anniversary DLC, either way, you are not the only one feeling shortchanged on this one.

Just wait, it will get worse, the maps will come up and people will not vote for them =/

I don’t see why they don’t make more playlists All DLC Required like Halo 3 eventually did

Give all the maps the same weighting with 70% Slayer / 30% Objective, why not?

yeah, its pretty lame. these stupid forge world maps were a good idea, but the same terrain and nothing special in them at all makes for an extremely low replay value. BLANDDDD

I’m wondering the same thing.

yeah these forge world maps are very bland…no replay value…there’s nothing that makes the maps special here you know same terrain same everything every map makes for some boring -Yoink-. it looks like no effort was put into anything

Because Reach got a bit botched in terms of what “veteran” Halo players want. Some old players left a long time ago and never came back. Some randomly come back and play sometimes. These that come back do not have all of the DLC. Likely deciding that $10 for two multiplayer maps and a firefight map they will never use was rather outrageous. We will never know quite what the population ratio is to who does and does not have all of the DLC but we can only assume there is enough to where it would drop the population quite low if the great majority of the playlists were DLC required. The main lists I tend to avoid for the most part when playing slayer because I like my DLC. But, you need ALL of it to play the squad slayer list where it can all be used for slayer purposes.

Anniversary has their own special lists which are quite fun. Squad slayer is fun but no objective. You get all Noble maps, Defiant multiplayer maps, and also anniversary maps in there. If you do not have one of these sets then you can’t play Squad. If you don’t have CEA (or its DLC maps at least) well you won’t see much of any of these maps anywhere. (maybe BTB, Living Dead, or basic Slayer).

Also not meaning to pick at anything but how do you spend $30 on $20 worth of DLC? O.o

It’s called Squad DLC. And it’s not TU settings either. Don’t expect to play DLC maps often, if at all on the regular playlists. You hardly ever get paired up with like minded individuals who have all the DLC maps.

Of course, if you are not playing Anniversary maps, something is wrong with you as there is a playlist dedicated to those maps alone.

lol i bought it online! 2000 points for 30 bucks. dont tell me my xbox ripped me off!??! :stuck_out_tongue:

This happens more often than not sadly  I know Highlands isn’t the best but it’s gets picked over for a generic Forge World map variant? Then again it was AR/derp starts…fml.

lol it just might have… 800 points is $10. Anniversary DLC is 1200 points ($15) while Defiant and Noble are each 800 points ($10 each). So, If you got 2000 for $30, then that isn’t right cuz $30 should have you with 2400 points. Assuming you did pay $30, then $5 more and you can join the best of us in squad slayer lol

Because they are fun maps :3

But you should get Halo:CEA maps (or even better get a copy of Halo:CEA with the maps).

Prices may vary in different parts of the world…

Anyhow the only sure way to get any DLC maps is one of two methods:

  1. If you have all of the DLC packs, play Squad DLC.

  2. Get a group of people who all have the DLC and fill up the total amount of players in the playlist you want to play (example: 8 players for SWAT).

I swear, as of now, the DLC maps have come up to vote maybe 12 times, played on them four times, 7 times no votes and then 1 failed load and then on the second round, no DLC came up =/

Through all my history of playing Reach since Noble came out and playing DLC on lists that do not require it, I think I have played DLC maps about two dozen times or so. Kind of sad. Invasion Breakpoint being a very low occurrence despite how often I play Invasion.
