if i remember correctly a temporary ban lasts 2 weeks, not too confident in that answer though. Also i’ve only heard of console bans that are permanent so i guess im ill-informed nowadays…

Checked your recent games. Nothing seems fishy. Only about 1 or 2 DNFs.
It’s okay. Unless you really care about fake money, just play the game. Kill people.
Hello, My SYSTEM right now has a Temporary Ban from earning credits. I’m assuming its from the kids signing on with the oldest as a guest and getting some no kill matches and possible team mate kills… I do understand why it happens and whatnot and in the future am watching more thuroughly for to keep this from happening. However it wasn’t my account that it happened on… it was the family system. and there’s not even anything saying how long it’s banned for… I would like to know for sure exactly WHY it is banned from earning credits and if this can be removed and going forward will do my best to prevent it from happening again. Can someone help me out with this?
On Thursday I quit quite a few games that I was certain to loose as I was desperate to get the weekly challenge. I got put on probation on Friday, but still quit my first game as it was incredibly unfiar (we were basically being killed upon spawn). I was temporarily banned from matchmaking. During that time I realized I shouldn’t have quit so many games and would like to say sorry to everyone I’ve affected by quitting. Since I have resume matchmaking, I haven’t quit ANY non-custom games. I was in a game of Arcadefight on Firefight doubles with a friend of mine. His Xbox overheated and red-ringed during the game so he obviously quit. Once I completed the game alone, I received about 10.5k cR. I then went back the the lobby and I’d been banned again, even though I haven’t quit any games! I am certain this must be some sort of glitch. ok so apparently no one cares about the players anymore. The fact that i can have my entire system temp banned from earning credits but can’t get a single answer out of anyone or any help on it is -Yoinking!- limited. From what i’ve read in these forum posts over the past couple of days it seems to me that the -Yoinking!- “BanHammer” is a -Yoink- -Yoink!- robot with downs that gets it’s jollies from fumbling around in the dark randomly banning systems for a zero kill game here and there. I refuse to continue to be a part of a game community that behaves this way. Everyone is saying they hope its better with 343… pfft… i doubt it… the reality is it was decent enough when bungie had control… I never had these kind of problems until they let it go and decided to turn it all over. Either way… i’m seconds away from taking my system out to the road and burning it and smashing the hell out of it, putting the video on youtube, and telling everyone why… Then go buy a different system because Halo is the only game that keeps me on xbox in the first place…
This is ridiculous that we are all channeled here to voice our concerns, but no one of official status ever looks into our issues with this gaming program. To place anyone on a Temporary Ban for backing out of any game before it loads is ridiculous.
We aren’t receiving any credits to level up by backing out of any game before the game clock even starts, but it places us in a DNF Status. The program makes us appear like we’re going into Firefight Doubles Matchmaking Games and quitting.
i challenge anyone to review my games and see if you see me: TheWrathIsNow being stationary during an entire match while jumping up and down to get credits and to level up.
A guest doesn’t level up and during a Firefight Matchmaking Doubles game he or she doesn’t negatively affect anyone, but the person he or she is playing with. A guest that doesn’t get any kills in any case doesn’t help us complete as many rounds or make it to the BONUS ROUNDS. We get less credits and it slows down our leveling up, but then we get placed on credit bans that slows us down even more.
I feel for everyone out there that is in the same Ban as myself. i don’t see any other way to get those of proper authority to remove these bans or to address our issues here other than by filing an Official Complaint. This is no way to treat our Community and more importantly US PAYING CUSTOMERS!

Actually, the longer the games, the more cR you get for the completion bonus, especially in Firefight.
If you are ranking up in Firefight Doubles faster because you have an AFK guest (which by the sounds of it, you are), people who have to play FF Doubles with two people playing and sharing kills.
I did not have any AFKing guests concerning this current 2 Week Temporary Credit Ban. i’ve had my wife join me that put down her controller before on my last 1 Week Temporary Credit Ban, but i didn’t earn as many kills or credits to level up! It’s actually the other way around than what people out there that supposively want to keep us honest believe.
If we have a guest that is new with Halo Reach such as my wife or Grandson, it slows down our leveling up and we earn less credits, because we’re teaching them the game most times or they lack the attention or skill to help get us to further rounds or to the Bonus Rounds. In any case i was addressing others out there that have Temporary Credit Bans for their guests or them not earning any kills or Banhammer Banning them for what appears to be AFKing.
Once i learned here what AFKing even was about 1 month back, i stopped having a guest play, because i don’t now or didn’t then want to be BANNED again for something this ridiculous. If you review my game history the last Firefight Doubles Matchmaking Games i played was with a 9 year old. When we played, we played co-operatively and made it to the BONUS Round for i believe 8 games straight on Corvette.
i really don’t know why i was banned, but i can only guess it was for backing out of Firefight Doubles Matchmaking Games that i backed out of, before the game actually began during the voting session or as soon as the vote was over. i’d rather play a full round of Arcade Firefight when i have the time and as you said i EARN more credits. Actually i EARN about 3X more credits in about only twice the amount of time in Firefight Arcade than on Firefight 2X Score Attack or Limited.
i didn’t realize that when i backed out of the game before it even loaded that it was placing me in a DNF status until i reviewed my game history at Bungie.net AFTER i was Temporarily Banned for TWO WEEKS! I DIDN’T EARN ANY credits as expected in a game i backed out of before it even started!
i suggested in my earlier post that maybe in the future updates they can place Score Attack and Limited in seperate voting areas and let us that wish to play a full 20 minute game of Firefight Arcade vote in a seperate area. In any case i won’t back out of any game during the voting round or even before the game starts so i won’t risk being permanently banned in the future.
It seems this thread again has been a waste of time and our posts here will be continued to be ignored by the proper official or officials. i don’t expect anyone will read this entire post or my previous posts before jumping to their own conclusions or judgements. So to be expected in this world of IMing and Tweet one-liners.

I got onto my xbox today and when i got into the halo reach main menu it said my xbox and account had been temporarily banned from earning credits. The only thing that I think may have caused this was me earning a killtrocity and extermination in the same game in grifball and that I played for 8 hours straight. I just want to know how long I’m going to be banned from earning credits and why?

It depends on what you have done to earn the CR ban.
I don’t think playing Grifball for 8 hours would cause a ban.
Unless it was the same game modded out for boosting.

Are you serious? Did you bring an apple to the teacher everyday in school? Why would we even be here if we knew exactly what we did wrong? No one of official status looks into these issues with these temporary bans.
In my case i’m only guessing that i was banned by Banhammer for backing out of games before they loaded or during the voting round. The server was placing me in a DNF Status (Didn’t Finish) even though i backed out of the game before it even started.
i believe everyone has the right to know how long their bans are for and for what so they can try to avoid it from happening again. Take it like a man are you serious? What are you even here for?
Demonizing everyone here, because you apparently believe everyone on this thread was intentionally cheating isn’t what this thread should be about. i agree with you about one thing though that this thread shouldn’t be available here if none of our issues are addressed by one of proper authority.
i don’t believe it takes much time for the officials that are monitoring this thread to tell us in one sentence why we were banned and for how long if we ask. Again this has been a waste of time.
When you go to the gas station to level up, because your gas warning light is on, do you get gas or ignore getting gas? In this case we had no warning and even when we pay to play we aren’t leveling up.
As i posted earlier i’m only assumming i was put on this temporary ban for being placed in a DNF status for games i backed out of before the games even started or during the voting rounds. I WAS NOT AFKING! As i posted earlier also, i challenge anyone to find a single game where me TheWrathIsNow remained stationary the entire time during any match AFKING!

i will be playing reach, usually playing a forerunner rank or better. start off the game winning and either i get disconnected(causing a temp ban eventually) or the score screen comes up, no one quits and all weapons reset. ending in me getting 2nd and the forerunner or rank up winning. seems like the always get a powser weapon in this time. i mean once i actually started to become dominante in the game this crap happens. anyone else experianced this? also, when players are found how come load failure will come up even after the veto. seems like it keeps doing that until a game the person wants to play comes up then they except. also i heard bungie and 343 players mod but wont allow ne one else to, true?
