Hi i’ve recently been cr banned FOR the FIRST time in halo Reach I turned my x-box and game on this afternoon played a round then suddenly realized i didnt get any credits at first i didn’t understand why. Then i restarted the console and noticed a message that popped up saying i was temporarily banned from earning credits. I still didn’t understand why. Then I read some threads on this board and realized there is a thing called guest boosting, I thought back to last night and remembered I had been playing with my seven yr. old nephew who managed to score very few kills out of the multiple games we played.I understand I am technically guilty of “guest boosting” but for all but one rumble pit we we’re on the same team so why would i purposely do that ? I’m a huge Halo fan and I play MULTIPLE hours of Reach a day I also never have nor do I agree with cr boosting I’m a forerunner and proud of it IS THERE ANYWAY TO GET THIS BAN LIFTED ? and if not how long will it last ? My Gamertag is ANDY lS KIRA (the I in the middle is actually a lowercase L )

My gamer tag is Blaisse. I have no idea why I was banned. The only thing I can think that happened was that I had some friends over this weekend who where not very good at halo and where logged in as guests. I was not cheating, I was just trying to have a good time with my friends. I am sorry that halo views that as a problem

I was credit banned for playing on the same console with my son’s GT in Firefight Doubles. I began by trying to get him the holdout challenge while he was at his mother’s and was going to continue to get my own commendations. I was essentially playing both GT’s at the same time. At the time I was concentrating on Monster TS and letting my GT, Tueton, wait. Being that this was occuring on Firefight Doubles with just our 2 GTs how does that effect anyone elses gameplay or enjoyment. Isn’t that why the banhammer was started, to stop cheaters from giving themselves an advantage over other player so they could win the game? I have never participated in any such behavior such as modding, network manipulation, cheating in any games, nor even quitting or team killing under my own power during team matches. Neither do I support such behavior and people that do participate in them are automatically blocked by me for matchmaking. So if I was playing my son’s and my GT on the same console in firefight doubles, where it doesn’t really matter to anyone else and obviously does not effect anyone else’s game, then I don’t feel the credit ban on my GT and my console is fair or just, especially to my son. That is why I request that it be removed and if not, how long will it be for. I did pay good money for this game, all the DLC, and Xbox Live and feel that I am being told what I am allowed to do within the parameters of the game. Shouldn’t we all be allowed to do what we choose with our pruchases when it does not hurt anyone nor effect their gameplay, if we can’t, what is the point of purchasing your games if we aren’t even stepping on anyone else to get our own enjoyment from our hard earned money. Thank You.

> i just dont get, I havent played Halo in a while and try to get on and enjoy the game but its hard too with the ban. No other game bans players for choosing to play. Its a personal preference, I paid for the game, i pay for live how is that you can try to force me to play a game type I choose not to.

In games you cant ever drive vehicle or wraith as if you accidently shoot or run over some one u get banned. This is rideculos, no wonder everybody switched to COD. Playing is a choice, it i new it waslike this I would have never repurchased or purchase in future.
Amen, brother.
Hello, My Gamer tag is ON3E1GHT5EV3N. My son and I have been Halo players for years. Been playing online since Halo 2. Had this tag since Halo 3. Well we recently had router issues that were disconnecting us from X-Box live, inturn from Halo Reach games. We have been off X-Box live for about a year and had no freakin clue about this banning stuff. Well because of us “leaving games” due to faulty equipment we were banned from play for a week. Well I sucked it up, resolved the router issues and havent left a game to my knowlege. Well we have been recently kicked from matchmaking and we can’t join games. Can I ask the administrators why? In reading posts on the subject, could it be due to low kills? If so I’m freakin’ sorry that I let my 6 year old daughter play. I thought the whole having to pay to play thing at least earned me that right. Can this ban thing be lifted? Man Halo is the reason we have been loyal X-Box players. This ban hammer is going to ruin the fun of Halo for lots of players. It’s left a sour taste in my mouth. Hell my son is a awesome player because he was allowed to loose big and often on Halo 3 online. I cant let my Daughter play because you might ban me because she cant control the game quite as well as you and I yet. Man that sucks. Makes me wanna go else where, just sayin’. I don’t want to because I really do love this game. The Theme sends chills down my spine the way the Star Wars theme does. Halo Anniversary was a must have. I have the Master Chief Helmet above my tv at my wife’s protest! But I swear if this ban bullcrap continues It will take all the fun out of it and I will eventually leave and go elsewhere.

The only solution is to stay out of Matchmaking with her, the ban hammer picks up zero kill games as AFKing, there is no other way to track AFKers and no way to avoid the ban if you simply aren’t good at the game, this system will be improved for Halo 4 but for Reach, not possible as an AFKer and a bad player look exactly the same in the ban hammers eyes.

The Quit Ban is to tell you to be careful when driving, aiming and simply not to quit, if anything it gives you a timeout to teach you a lesson.
> WTF!? Today i was playing alot of MLG. And everyone in MLG mutes the other team because bungie’s stupid -Yoink!- made it so both teams can hear eachother. So now after all those mutes im “mute banned.” WTF Bungie!? I used to <3 bungie… </3 i hate you now. Now i cant talk or hear in MM. Mute ban is possibly the worst thing ever. I. Hate. Bungie. You ruined everything abut Halo that i loved. </3.
The Mute Ban is hugely flawed, Bungie didn’t take these sort of things into account, I believe the mute ban does eventually finish by itself but the time in unknown.

Bans don’t get lifted if they are rightly given, your ban was rightly given, it shall not be lifted.

That’s a might gobful and if you re-think, you have the unfair advantage over the other players, you are gaining ranks faster with a dodgy guest compared to those who have to play and sometimes put up with the FF lag that comes with Firefight.
If it is a first time offence, your ban is likely to last roughly 24-48 hours.

You only get temporary TEN minute bans for quitting, it is likely you were banned for zero kill games which is picked up as AFKing by the ban hammer as there is NO way to differ between the two.
Your ban will last 24-48 hours if it is a first time offence.

The ban will not be lifted, as far as the ban hammer can see, AFKing, there is nothing you can do but wait it out.
First time offence is 24-48 hours.
I feel the need to post this again since I never got a reply, I was wrongly banned in Halo 3. I’ve learned some things from my first post.I know now that he was actually host booting. I had nothing to do with it, the only thing I did was play with him which hardly seems “naughty” at all. I DID NOTHING. He plays on the accounts, Buyars, RattleBiffle, Kuhronik and Just4Lol. You can check their records for when he makes people D/C. When I play by myself with randoms no one leaves. Because I DONT DO NETWORK MANIPULATION. The ban hammer should of got him for breaking the rules. I broke no rules. So there must be a mistake. I was wrongly Banned. He’s a good friend but if I get banned from him breaking the rules than I’m done playing with him. My gamertag is - Cremlin. My serial number 1692226 - 93905.

If you know of someone using Network Manipulation, you get in just as much trouble as them, even if the ban hammer hasn’t caught on to them, it will, you should have filed a complaint and not played with him, friend or not.

How can I get in trouble for doing nothing? That seems pretty stupid. Maybe I like being a loyal friend? Bungie can police their games but their sure as heck not policing my online experience. That’s just ridiculous. I love halo and I know 343 will only improve everything bungee
Messed up. This should include the ban hammer.
ya i just got a xp ban off of playing halo 3… first time if played halo online in like a year i was wondering why i got banned… gt TheGreatestEvaX

You are gaining an unfair advantage by playing with him when you know he is doing this, there is no denying that.
Yesterday, my friend and i were playing Halo 3 matchmaking in Team Slayer. We played a couple of game it was going good. Then we got paired up with someone named “idk y i carry u”. He said to give him our IPs. I said no and my friend gave him his IP. i didn’t understand why he wanted it. I didn’t bother asking him or anything. Then we got paired up again with him so i decided to ask him what he wanted it for. He said he wanted to do something called “Hostbooting.” i asked him what it was and he explained it to me. I told my friend i didn’t want to play with this cheater so we quickly avoided him and filed a complaint. We somehow got paired up with him again on his other account named DrippinBloods. then we played through the game and won, but the whole time the game was red bar. And i got mad because i wanted to play and actual legit game so i quit the game and went to play lonewolves then i kicked my out back into a matchmaking lobby while i was searching and it went from Xbox Live Connection to Local Connection. So i thought it was just simple internet lag. so i reconnected to Xbox Live and went to play Halo again and it said i was permanently banned from matchmaking on this account and my console was banned for 3 months. I honestly think i was mistakenly banned for the other guy or something because i had really nothing to do with it besides getting paired up with him and playing the game until the last time i got pared up with him before my ban.
When I was logged onto my friend’s console with my own hard drive a message came up that said the console was temporarily banned from earning credits. Later a message said this account is temporarily banned from earning credits. Another persone was logged in after this and they and they are not earning credits either. What is going on? Why the ban? How do we fix it?
