You were banned for having an AFK guest by the looks of your game history, even if you claim that he was bad at the game, the ban hammer grabbed you for his suspicious AFK activity.
If its a first time offence, it is likely to last 24-48 hours.

I just don’t believe I was in the wrong, and I still think the whole murder thing is over the top. Also, I don’t recall you actually giving me the contact info, which is what I want. (And yes, I have reread our conversation)
Thanks for letting me know about Score Attack. Could have done without the severe, you-broke-the-law-now-do-the-time theme over a video game, but I guess that’s what I get for coming to the forums.

I got what seems to be an “Idle Ban” and I was wondering how long it will be before I become capable of earning credits, as of me typing this message the time I have been banned is roughly 36 hours an counting, NOTE This is my second “Idle Ban”, The first ban I think lasted 24 hours, so if anybody can tell me a estimated time of ban, or how much more time I have to weight before I can earn credits again.

I also was console and credit banned last Tuesday and have not been able to get any contact info or talk with someone that can help. I need contact info so I can tell someone to help and fix the ban.

You were banned for suspicious AFK activity by the looks of it, for someone of your rank and play time to magically do that bad in a game but do surprisingly well in the next few is, odd.

OR it might be your Service Tag is ‘NGER’, I advise you change it before someone files it a complaint and you get banned from Xbox LIVE as well as Halo.
I was not AFKing at all. I have good games and bad games. I am 10,000 plus in the hole for K/D. On the 7th I was suspended and still am, why? It does not tell me anything about a 2 week ban. ALso, on the 7th my guest had kills in 2 games, then went 5 games without and then 2 game with kills. How is this being idel? THis should not of happened at all.
All I am asking is why, how long and can it be reversed? My guest on the 7th had never played in matchmaking or live before, and probalbly never will after what I have been over the week

It is AFKing activity, that’s why.
If it is a one week ban, you will be unbanned tomorrow (14th Feb).
NGER is not meant as an offensive tag it’s just a clan I’ve been in for some time. I actually think you’re right though a few of our members did get in trouble for having it in their name and were forced to change it. I actually haven’t boosted in double team though… the only thing I do is play with my friend and we vote for objective games all the time when we get people who don’t have good kill-death ratios and just kill them all game and try to win near the end. Pretty easy for kill death lol. We do the same in action sack. We’re not terrible players who have to boost our kill death ratios. I got credit banned tonight because my friend and I deserved it lol. We plugged in 8 controllers on 2 xbox’s and just got a bunch of kills. It doesn’t really get you that many extra credits but it DOES boost your K/D spread. My question is this: how long will it last? This is my first credit ban and I’ve read a bunch of other forum posts on other sites of people getting their entire account reset. Does that happen often these days? I don’t feel like that would be entirely fair. Yes, what we were doing was dumb and “cheating” if you really care about other people’s stats that much… but I’d hate to see my 2 years of real work go to waste and get reset because of 1 day of stupid playing around.

I’m relatively new to Halo multi-player and have never been banned. However I have read many of the posts on this thread and I just want to state my opinions.
Before I state them, I want to say that I get the reasons for bans, I get that the AFK players take away the fun for others. I get why the game has rules to keep the play equal for all.
Now my points:
Firstly, many thanks to The Little Moa for all of his responses ! They are clearly based on good will.
Secondly, I just cant believe that there exists this automatic, no questions asked banning, it seems so ridiculous and counter productive to Halo in general. Why not give some kind of warning or multiple warnings before actually handing down a ban ? It seems that there are quite a few people that received bans for pretty innocent reasons. A 24-48 hour ban doesn’t seem like a big deal, but I would personally feel a bit ripped off if I could not play a game that I paid for when in fact I was not “intentionally” breaking any rules. Why not a warning with a specific reason ?
Thirdly, I dont know how pervasive bans are (tens per day, hundreds per day ? ), but I would expect a much stronger 343 presence on this thread, justifying bans that were challenged. After all, we players are the customers, no ? As it stands now, they dont seem to care at all.
