How do you boost in FF? Maybe you got a temp ban for AFK’ing but a perma ban. Not likely.
Who is RKOSNAKE? If you get a message upon starting up Reach stating that you have been banned, you’ve been, well, banned. If not, then ‘RKOSNAKE’ is just messing with your head.
Can someone please answer a few questions that I have been asking for days.
Why did I get a temp ban from credits?
What is AFK?
How long will this temp ban on earning credits last?
Is the system really as stupid as banning or suspending folks because they have a guest who has never played (my case) and goes several games without a kill. How many kills per game does one need not to get a credit ban? And why is this happening anyway?
Please help. Thanks.
Hey guys. Sadly, I got banned for having an idle player in my party with me which banned my entire xbox since it was splitscreen. I realize it was wrong to do that now but I didn’t know up until I got a temporary credit earning ban today (this was my first time getting one). However, I was doing this in order to surprise my little brother whose account was the idle one in the matches. I was playing firefight, going for the weekly challenge of 150 rounds, and thought that maybe I could get him some rounds too while he was out at school so that he would have a surprise of 30,000 Cr weekly challenge reward when he got home. I’m really sorry that I did that and now understand why it is a valid reason to ban someone. Can you guys please lift the ban for me? I just got banned tonight and idk how long itll last… and i can only play on the weekends because i have to focus on school… please help!

If it’s your first ban it’s been stated on numerous occasions that it will only be a 24-48 hour thing. Just be patient and you’ll be back to playing in no time.
i managed to get a perminent ban from halo reach on both my console and my profile, and ive never had a reason for it
ive spent the past few weeks trying to get an answer for this while not being able to play the game, miss grifball
i don’t play reach quite as much as i used to (aimed for the credit limit most days) so for a few months it was more just pop on for a few challenges and some griffball.
i’m sure people who play the game enough will know that rank means nothing without commendations to back it up (due to people sitting in firefight doing nothing for free credits etc etc)
was getting on well with my commentdations too, only have onlines ones left to get and only two ranks away from inheritor.
also unable to play new maps or get new achievements from anniversary edition
-Yoink!- media are temprimental and my connection to live can be too, could maybe be the settings on my router though (-Yoink!- media again…) guess this bit would be my prolem though.
and did i mention, i miss grifball
39 days and 23 hours of play down the pan, atleast thats how it feels
Can someone give me an email, phone number or any contact information so I can challenge the account and console ban? I have not been able to get any information from any forum so far. Just because I had a guest who isnt any good at Reach I get banned, this is wrong and I want to get it reversed. please help. Thanks.
I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO KNOW WHY I AM CREDIT BANNED AND HOW LONG IT IS GOING TO LAST
> I WOULD REALLY LIKE TO KNOW WHY I AM CREDIT BANNED AND HOW LONG IT IS GOING TO LAST
- What game types were you playing?
- Did you have any guests?
- Did you sit idle at any time?
Welcome to Waypoint.
I WAS PLAYING SWAT
MY GIRLFRIEND WAS ON HER ACCOUNT
NOT THAT I KNOW OF
Just read Frykill’s post and remembered I did sit idle during one game of Firefight for about 4 minutes. There was a guy playing on my team (not anyone I’ve played with before) but he was lagging the game so out of frustration I sat there until he quit, then went about playing the game, which ran perfectly after that.
Also, in order to even play Firefight Matchmaking, I’ve been having to sign on my Player 2 controller in order to find a game–otherwise (until recently) it wouldn’t let me play any Firefight Matchmaking at all. I didn’t know letting someone with me sit idle for a game that I try to play mostly by myself–any way to fix this quickly?

Just saw that my first post didn’t go through, so let me explain this again. I was given a credit ban, don’t know how long it will last and wasn’t given any details as to why. A bit outraged, given the fact that I was a few games away from completing my weekly challenge (which now by the way will probably go to waste–thanks 343!), I did my own research to find out why I was banned. Here’s what I can see.
I don’t quit games, although not too long ago I was struggling with my internet connection and would get disconnected a lot, which I know the game counts as quitting. I try to play fair and in a friendly manner. HOWEVER (and of course no one told me this was wrong, had to find out the hard way) in order to play Firefight Matchmaking I have always had to play only with a guest. Only twice has Firefight Matchmaking actually found other players for me to play with, and it won’t let me play by myself for some reason. As such, and because I play a lot into the early hours of the morning, I sign in the guest account and let it sit there. (Which I just learned is called idling, and is illegal. Again, thanks Bungie/343 for warning me!)
So that’s my predicament. Now my question is, because it was unintentional, can the ban be lifted early? And furthermore, how am I supposed to play a decent game of Firefight Matchmaking now? So much for a fun, simple game of Halo after I get home for work, huh?
Thanks,
Poet

You make it out that 343 Industries are the bad guys for banning you because you didn’t know having a guest idle was against the rules.
Considering you have researched it all now, you can take this as your warning, don’t do it again.
Your ban will NOT be lifted early.
I don’t think they’re the bad guys. I love Bungie, and 343 gained my trust pretty early on. However, I am pretty pissed that I got a slap on the wrist for trying my best to do something fun and relaxing after work. When you enter into a community or a club, shouldn’t you be given the rules first? Or do the higher ups just sit there and wait for people to screw up, then punish them for it?
I’m not sorry for letting my guest account sit there and idle–it seemed to be the only way to even get into Firefight Matchmaking. I am sorry that it is illegal, however, and won’t do it again. In which case I probably just won’t play any more Firefight, which absolutely sucks.
However, if I may, I would like to say your tone is a bitey:
“You make it out that 343 Industries are the bad guys for banning you because you didn’t know having a guest idle was against the rules. Considering you have researched it all now, you can take this as your warning, don’t do it again. Your ban will NOT be lifted early.”
Was that really necessary? Let me ask, why will you not lift my ban? I learned my lesson, even though I’m upset I had to find out on my own this way. What further purpose is it going to serve to let the ban run its course, to the point where I won’t be able to get the cR that I’ve been working hard for before this week’s challenge is up? Are you trying to be a bully, or just act all tough?
If you’re not going to lift the ban early so I can continue doing something I enjoy, can you at least tell me why the heck not? Or can you please reconsider?

> <mark>The last thing I try to do on the internet is bully someone because I want to prove a point because at the end of the day, its just text explaining why you got banned from a game, I don’t think about ways to act like a pure -Yoink- online to tell users they got banned, I say it to prove a point that you got banned, don’t do it again, in my own spare time, I don’t have the power to lift your ban, 343 Industries do, this topic is to tell users why they were banned, mainly community members, 343 rarely monitor this topic.</mark>

Your ban is not going to be lifted, your attitude stinks and you need to remember it is JUST a game and you are taking this way to seriously and trying a bit to hard to get unbanned, you know why you were banned, you learned your lesson sure, I have been punished in the past for doing something, I learned my lesson but I wasn’t allowed to do X for a while because of it, the same applies within the gaming world, just because you claim something doesn’t mean its all forgiven, if you really loved this game, you would forget about the credits and carry on playing enjoying the game.
I wasn’t playing Doubles. I was playing Arcade. Thanks for letting me know about Score Attack. (No sarcasm, I mean it. Thank you.)
I understand the whole Get Out of Jail card problem, but it’s a pain in the -Yoink- for people who just want to play a game for the fun of it. (And yes, leveling up and earning cR is part of the fun, or at least has become such.) Why not let people who are banned only once be given a little lenience for a firsst time, honest mistake? People who are banned twice, or three times…well, actions speak louder than words.
But now this discussion seems pointless. I just want the ban lifted. If you cannot lift the ban, why make it sound like you can in your first reply? (The whole, ‘Your ban will NOT be lifted’ thing.) How the heck do I get 343’s attention to fix something that was an honest mistake and–I assert–not my fault?
In the grand scope of things, Halo is just a little, inconsequential game, and it’s cR system holds no weight. However, it is my little game, and after a really crappy work week, I’d just like to enjoy myself.
Thanks,
Poet

My only suggestions, there are two ways to contact them directly, one you could PM bs angel, she is the Community Manager for 343i, she could put in a good word or two for you if she decides to even acknowledge your request which is highly unlikely.
OR
You can send an e-mail to community@halowaypoint.com explaining the same thing, then they will do something if they want to, but once again, unlikely.
Enjoy your ban, it won’t be leaving any time soon.
Of course I care about the cR system. It’s part of the fun. That the fun has become this dramatic of an issue is stupid. And looking around the forums, I am not the only person who has had this sort of problem and thinks this way.
And comparing to “breaking the rules” (and again, unmentioned rules) of a game to murder? Seriously? SERIOUSLY? That is the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. Murder is an intrinsic evil. You know it’s wrong. So is stealing. So is walking up to someone and punching them in the face. SO IS CHEATING. What I was doing, I felt, was not cheating. I was playing essentially by myself. (And yes, it was just me and a guest in Arcade. I’ve enjoyed the Arcade playlist up until this point.) Who was I hurting? Who was I murdering, exactly?
This discussion has gotten silly. If you can’t help me, then please, stop making it sound as if I’m a bad guy for not knowing the rules. You’ve made your “point.”
Thanks,
Poet

I wish you would just sit there and take your ban, first time offences are only 24-48 hours long, two week bans will always say ‘you have been temporarily banned for two weeks’.
Now please, just save yourself the trouble and just wait it out.
Ok, so I was playing Halo the other day with my buddy who is absolutely TERRIBLE; in the span of about
a good 10-15 games (maybe less) he got two kills. sigh he was signed in as a guest on my account, and I was playing with my brother who was on his own account on his separate system. Needles to say. My friend logged out from my guest account because he was gonna go shower. So my brother and I went along to go play some doubles, halfway through the game, a notification informs me that my system and profile have been temporarily banned from earning cR. Why? What’s the reason? If it’s because my friend receiving only 2 friggin’ kills in the span of roughly 15 games, is ludacris. Can anyone please shed some light?
