I can’t tell you why you were banned but Permanent bans are Permanent.

I have had a steep learning curve trying to play Reach in Matchmakng games. I had a LOT of 0 kill games, 1 kill, barely any credits earned (this was playing by myself) I finally met a bunch of mutual friends, and we played last night, and I actually got more kills! 5-8, nothing higher, YET!
But I logged in to play today, and I got 2 messages after the opening sequence, I get:
“This XBox 360 console has been temporarily banned from earning credits.”
then:
“This account has been temporarily banned from earning credits.”
The only difference is what I stated above. I have a friend without a live account who logged in as guest on my console, and he’s a bit better than I am. After he stopped getting distracted by texts, he got his usual double digit kills. I finally got better at the game, and now I can’t play! I ranked up to Warrant Officer Level 3 last night! I played a game anyway this morning and got 8 kills! I just want to be able to earn credits again!
I did have a bunch of guys sending me friend requests, that I didn’t know (obviously because of my gamer tag) and I declined them all, could they have done some kind of fake whining about me?
Please refer to the original thread. They will probably lock this. You were cR banned for AFKing. That’s when you do not move inside the game. This is bannable in Reach. Your cR ban will last from 1 day up to 2 weeks.

Actually the AFK ban is applied to anyone who finishes games with 0 kills consistently. So even if you were playing you could be banned for being really bad at the game. It sounds like that is what happened to the OP.

It is unlikely, the WHY I GET BANNED Topic was left for Community Members to tell you why you were banned, in this case, you were banned because you were bad at the game which is annoying having to tell users.
Considering it is your first ban, it will be 24-48 hours long.

So can anyone tell me how long the ban on earning credits will last if you have three people on one console that are all beginners at playing halo reach and are all really bad at kills? My six year old, my wife, and i are all consistantly scoring from 0 to 3 kills during match making game play. We have been getting the ban messages for over a week, when will i be able to earn credit again?

Normally I unmute people but if they annoy me I remute them. Some people don’t, admittedly alot of people who are muted are actually good people, and some are now on my friends list. I’m not entirely sure what makes a mute ban, but I’m not exactly the most polite person at times, and i’m not mute banned yet, so I have no idea what sets it off.

Mute bans are caused by a player getting X amount of mutes within X amount of space I believe, hence why it is broken.
When playing MLG or The Arena, you need to mute the other team or go into Party Chat to not hear them and for them not to hear you, which means you have automatically four players muting you each Arena/MLG game, they stack up and up and eventually, you are mute banned.

That’s ridiculous…you were AFKing not bad…i have had guests with 0 kills playing the game and no ban happened. Don’t try to hide what you did. And i DID READ what you posted.

People do get banned for simply playing bad, their Kill:Death Ratio tells you that whole story really, the banhammer can’t differ between AFK & simply bad at the game.
