I have not been banned from matchmaking but I can no longer communicate in game chat and I have not received any message or confirmation of what’s going on can someone enlighten me on my situation

I am completely confused as to what you asking, I only saw permanent ban so I am going to say, you only get perma banned from Reach if you have reached tons of cR bans or you did some sort of modification to Reach.

You have most likely been Mute Banned, there is no way around it, you were likely playing something down your mic that got others to mute you a lot.
Hi, I got credit banned last night and I was just wondering how long they usually last. My GT it Phoenix70508.
Since this is meant to be the one-stop shop for everything ban related, I have a question about something, not about my ban. (Actually lack there-of, anyway.)
Is it possible to get banned by HLGing on your opponents in many matches, often having the whole game go 0-0? I can swear I saw a thread on B.net where a person tested out getting 0 kills while not AFKing. He’d get assists, EMPs, what have you…and eventually he got banned.
Has the banhammer been updated to remedy that, or does that still happen and people who love to cause shenanigans and hide on their enemies in danger?

Getting EMPs or not, you are not playing the game the way it was intended to play, pretty much manipulating the system to get free cR and free wins.
As far as HLG goes, getting kills and then hiding will guarantee you won’t get banned, getting no kills though, you will get banned.

You were banned for AFK Boosting for a start, possibly full party boosting as well.

dear 343.things like this ,my friend(LIVE ID:minggongzi,he like HALO REACH very much,he spent 6 hours on reach everyday ,just play Competitive game.no cheat,no modification to Reach.and he did nothings what obey the reach rules.

I used to challenge reset a while ago, but now that I’m playing reach again i want to be legit and was wondering if you guys could reset my rank. I am fully prepared to take the consequences for my past actions. I would very much appreciate it if you could only rank reset me because i want to start fresh and get back into the action right away. Thanks.
Well, minggongzi(Live ID) is my friend, i can prove that he never never cheat or modified Reach gameplay.
All of his friends know that, he only play Reach! He is a real fan and a crazy guy who spend almost 6+ hours on it.
It is unbelievable he got Banned.
Why I was permanently banned, opened three posts have been closed

CAN someone advise as to what i can do or give me some idea as to what my chances are of getting it back?

Just curious if you ever got a response? I totally agree with you and I too believe there policies are arbitrary and absurd. I’ve never been banned but I see legit reasons like yours a lot and was wondering if they even responded.

Permanent bans tend to be delivered on bases of game modifications, which is very hard for us as a community to check what it was.
Your friend likely knows what he has done and it afraid to admit it.

If you want to get a rank reset, make a new account and start fresh, they don’t just hand out resets for the sake of it.

I have replied to this guy on more than one occasion, permanent bans, especially in Halo 3 are given based on in-game modification, whether that be simply having a modified service tag, to a modified map, they are all bannable.
The user was most likely banned for modifying something he shouldn’t have.
