i was playing halo reach and suddenly there was a credit ban when i came back from dinner.
First off, I haven’t been banned, but I have a question that regards banning.
I understand that having a guest being idle and getting zero kills in matchmaking a few times will ultimately get you banned. I was wondering if this was the same for firefight? Because when I do firefight doubles online it gets really “laggy” (about every 2/3 games) and it’s hard to use the sniper rifle sometimes, because it will shoot about a second or two after I pull the trigger, and it’s very annoying, but I only really enjoy arcade mode (because of infinite lives and ammo and the choices of load-outs). So I was just wondering if I were to do FF doubles with an idle guest, would I get banned for it? Also, I wouldn’t continuously play games until I max my commendations, I honestly just like to play a few games of FF every now and then. Thought it would be better to ask than to find out for myself lol

Unfortunately, any guest you have idle runs the risk of getting you banned. Sometimes all it takes is one time.

Damn. Okay, well I figured it would be worth a shot. I guess I’ll just suck it up and deal with the lag haha thanks man.

Many times clearing up some bandwidth on your network is all it takes to eliminate the lag. Hardwiring your Xbox to your modem will greatly increase your connection. Any devices that use bandwidth can affect your connection as well.

Ah. I only got one warning that I know of… but thats probably why I’m reset then… didn’t think it was that harsh

Last Friday night my account was permanently banned from halo 3 while my son was using it for inactivity. I am 49 years old I play halo 3 only and have had this account for 5 years! I understand he was doing wrong but I find this punishment to be VERY excessive considering I see players inactive all the time. Can you please help me in reducing the time from being permanent to a lesser punishment? I really enjoy halo 3 and it is the only game I play. He will never play on this gamer tag again and assure you it will never happen again.

UPDATE! I found out that my account was not being played on my console but on his friends console who was over my house having a HALO night using two xbox units with several friends. At the time my account was permanently banned his friends console and account was also permanently banned and this is why i was perm banned for just being inactive. Myself being a halo 3 fan and the only game i play i am hoping someone here can help in getting my account ban reduced so i can once again enjoy playing again on this account which i have 5 years of playing time and over 11,000 games played. CAN someone advise as to what i can do or give me some idea as to what my chances are of getting it back?

Permanent bans are permanent, it wont get lifted, just make a new account and take care this time.
Last night my cousin came over and was playing as a guest. He kept killing himself. I warned him several times to stop but he didn’t listen and now im banned. It wasn’t my fault. I think that should be looked into. And, how long will the ban be?
Your account & Xbox is your responsibility, you should have told him to stop killing himself.
