> Has anyone heard an official response on this matter? Banning people for using 343’s custom challenge system is going to really hurt the population. It’s just outright shady to give someone the means, and the decide to ban. It’s not right. Quite a few of my friends also received a ban. They have already traded the game in. If this keeps up, I’m skeptical about Halo 4. Custom challenges do not hurt anyone. I don’t see the problem, you play to rank up, you find a faster way to rank up than someone else, someone else gets POed, player gets banned. Players can be -Yoink!- in multiplayer every day to no end, have they been banned?
If I could link to the sites what I am taking about, then I would but sadly they are Xbox/Gaming Modding Communities so I would risk a ban but there were topics, dedicated to just doing the ONI Target Locator Challenge Boosting on them, all of these topics today, have received a big influx of people posting they have been cR banned for two weeks, I haven’t broke any Reach rules in 6 months, meanwhile I receive a two week cR ban just like these users, the only thing I did, was the CC Boosting.
There is no denying it was the Custom Challenge boosting on ONI Sword Base.

Ok. If that’s the case? Did you go over the cap at any point? By doing any custom challenges, could we possible get a ban after this if we stay under the cap? I want to figure out what caused it exactly. I’m on that fence right now of trading the game in, and giving 343 a chance to explain themselves, and give it one more shot.

I myself went over the cap 95% of the time I did this when it was first discovered a month or two ago, I’ve went from roughly Brigadier to Nova in a short space of those two months, last night when I saw it got fixed to stop users from going over the cap, I was likely to stop using it other than to hit the cap when I was finished on Reach for the day to get as much cR out of it as possible.
As for being banned for simply using Custom Challenges and not going over the cap, I think that’s a no for anything other than the ONI Target Locator exploit, its still a mystery as of now.
Although what I would love to see if those who full party Grifball boost and use Custom Challenges to get their rank up faster while doing it, to receive two week cR bans, they are doing as much harm as we are.

According to Halotracker - I went over the cR cap one time ( two days ago, just before CC system was updated ). Not only is my account banned from earning cR, but my console has been banned as well. There are two others that play Reach, that never even did a single CC - and they will not be able to rank up either.

Mind checking how many times I went over the cap since General? No idea how to check on that site, too confusing.

AFKing warrants a ban/reset if done too many times, it is unlikely you will get unreset too.

I used the challenges to get target locater kills , kills on grunt and kills on skirmishers… I reached the credit limit because i turned them in and did more challenges ( you can look at recent game/ challenges) and i got banned for it. I think it is unfair that i was banned because 343 put that in the game and made you able to do that. I am bored out of my mind now. Can i please talk to an admin or something to work this out?

But if you read my post on page 76, why ban us for doing something legal? they gave us a why of getting cR and making challenges faster, and yet they ban us for doing so?
If they were going to ban us for doing a legal method for geting to the cap faster, then why give us Custom Challenges?

Your guess is as good as mine, I saw it as perfectly legal, it is likely it is not for bypassing the cR cap as many people I have spoke too say they got banned and never bypassed it but simply did the CCs on ONI Sword Base with the Target Locator.
We will just have to wait until bs angel gets us an official response.

They will do as they have done before, try to dodge us and say “If you are banned then you did something wrong” when we have done nothing wrong.

Actually no, bs angel has sent out a few e-mails trying to get this information for us as said below,

Until i seen a post saying what we did was wrong i really wont believe what they say, i have played other games and posted on other forums and all the admins say “We are trying to get more information” and 1 week later no response.
I’m not saying they will do this, but a lot of other game forums have, if bs angel does give a response back fast then good on him.

Type of ban: Credit Ban - Console & Account
Length of ban: Two Weeks
Ban message wording if possible: “This Xbox 360 console has been banned from earning Credits for two weeks.” & “This account has been banned from earning Credits for two weeks.”

When you say too many times, how many is that exactly? If I did it about 6 times, is that too much?

Doing it ONCE is enough for a ban, doing it again after than ban will result in more bans and eventually a reset.
