I just want to know once and for all what will get you banned? I’m tired of walking on pins and needles. I can get banned if I have too many bad games. That’s too much.
Just wait it out. 343 may realease a new thread with everything that will get you banned. Surely thought you must have thought there was a chance when you why bypassing the cr cap
So my xbox and gamertag is banned for 2 weeks, all for custom challenges? It was legit before so why not now? I think an explanation is needed. Never bypassed the cr cap so i have no idea…

The thing is. At first you didn’t even realize it. The challenges only paid out at the end of the 3 hours. When I first realized I was going over the cap, I figured those credits would be added towards the next days allotted earned credit. Example, I earned 50,000 over the cap, I didn’t have to play as long the next day. Then it just got to the point where I thought the cap was just plain redonkulous and figured, serves them right for not removing it or raising it considering they promised to a month and a half ago and did nothing until now. Add a ban on top of that, and you’re going to be aggravated too. Especially with no official word yet.

I wouldnt be suprised if they removed custom challenges. 343 should have known that the Halo community would find a way to earn more cr from custom challenges. Why dont they just add extra daily challenges for people to do.
I also got the two week credit ban.
I did use the ONI checkpoint, but after checking Halo Tracker, it appears I only went over the cR cap one time in all of the times I used it.
I would typically just use it a few times just before logging out to max out.
Also, there are two OTHER people on my console who don’t use Custom Challenges - and since my warning said that my CONSOLE was banned from earning cR - they cannot rank up either.
I was credit reset about a year ago, obviously I quit for awhile but now ive gotten back into playing this game again.
I did afk some firefight games and I did commendation boost in campaign, just wondering if those warrant a credit/rank reset.
I do have a flaky internet connection, so maybe the banhammer thought I was challenge resetting or something, though id hope it would be able to tell the difference.
If you find anything on my profile that might be the reason why I was reset, id like to know please. Thanks in advance.

I think it is unfair that i was banned because 343 put that in the game and made you able to do that. I am bored out of my mind now. Can i please talk to an admin or something to work this out?

That might not be it. Think really hard. Did you by chance try to get any of the new achievements lately. Many of my friends did the custom challenge thing too, but I’m the only one that got a ban. Back before Christmas, I was in a party with a guy getting achievements that had 4 guests plugged in. I’m wondering if that’s where mine came from.
Just suggesting that there be a place that explains every banable offense because I was banned and what I think it was doesn’t fit the “criteria” that I have been seeing. I’m not all that concerned about the ban but I don’t think it’s fair when people get banned for something that has never been said to be banable.

I would probably do it myself, I know quite a few ways of getting banned, if not all, I have been cR banned and perma banned before.

I just started playing halo reach since last year so i didnt do anything back then so im very confused to why i got Cr banned i have only gotten one of the new achevments so i hope they look and correct this

After checking a few sites, I can tell these cR bans were aimed at those who used Custom Challenges on ONI Sword Base.
Okay, I’m back on Reach after months of playing other games. Last I read on B.net, the target locater glitch was not bannable. And what are these Custom Challenges I’m reading about. When did they start that? Do they like let you make your own challenges or somthing?
I’m a credit farmer and I want to know what I can’t do anymore so I can jump in and get to work.

Custom Challenges, are what they are called, Challenges you can make yourself.
They are found here: http://halo.xbox.com/en-US/Career/Challenges, you can get a certain amount of cR depending on how hard the challenge is, although, sadly, each challenge has a limited amount of cR you can get for it, for example, Matchmaking Challenges = 30k cR, Firefight Challenges = 10k cR and Campaign Challenges = 5k cR.
You can create up to five Custom Challenges at any given time, and once you choose ‘turn-in’ on them, you will get rewarded your cR and be able to carry on making more.

Kind of, before yesterday, when you hit turn-in, you had to actually wait for your challenge’s set time to finish before you got the cR, meaning you could custom challenges for at least 3 hours without any hinder, meaning you could go onto ONI Sword Base with the Target Locator, boost their for three hours and then go off Reach and get hundreds of thousands of cR, going over the cap, if you didn’t go on for the rest of the day, you would keep ALL of those cR.
By the looks of it, people who have done this received a two weeks cR ban overnight, however, I am still not 100% sure if it was those who did it and went over the cap or those who did it after the turn-in instantly thing started happening.
You would need to wait for someone from 343 to do it.
It sounds like to me it would be too EASY to accidently get yourself banned if you don’t know what you are doing. I think I’ll stay away from these “Custom Challenges” and just grind firefight.

Exactly what I will be doing once my cR ban is gone, don’t trust Custom Challenges at all anymore.

Has anyone heard an official response on this matter? Banning people for using 343’s custom challenge system is going to really hurt the population. It’s just outright shady to give someone the means, and the decide to ban. It’s not right. Quite a few of my friends also received a ban. They have already traded the game in. If this keeps up, I’m skeptical about Halo 4. Custom challenges do not hurt anyone. I don’t see the problem, you play to rank up, you find a faster way to rank up than someone else, someone else gets POed, player gets banned. Players can be -Yoinks!- in multiplayer every day to no end, have they been banned?
