I have a similar situation, but my ban has lasted almost a full week! It would be nice to be able to recieve information prior to a ban being imposed,so you can correct whatever you are doing wrong? also, an explanation for the ban, length of ban and an appeal process would be helpful.
I am new to Halo and not very proficient at this time, but banning people because they don’t have kills or very few kills seems harsh!!

That is you lagging out from the FF game, that counts as a quit. But becaus it’s FF you still get to finnish the game by yourself.

Yup, a good way to see if it is you lagging out or not is to go into the game stats on Waypoint or Bungie after the game and see if it shows your final score from the game or it shows it as lower/0.
If it is lower/0, YOU lagged out.

Actually, if the host quits, you tend to get the same result. I’ve been with a party of 3 and all 3 of us got split to our own games. Obviously, all 3 of us didn’t lag out. I’ve had games where the person that drew host quit and the whole game never showed up in my game history.

Either way, it only records the host games on the Game History, showing that either you or the host lagged out, if the user had a good connection, he would have been able to take over as host and continue, considering he lagged out, he did not.
Hopefully this is posted in the correct place, looked for correct forum topic area, could not find it listed for Bungie Halo Reach Game.
Scenario;
This is not the first time banned console, for same issue.
Parent here, playing on son’s account, not as skilled as son, purchased gold membership for year, but didnt know there was a family gold membership, otherwise would have played Halo Reach on my own skill level than use his high ranked account, which i believe is an issue for finding matchmaking prospects and for ranking other players from bungie halo reach menu.
I know i did nothing wrong, but perhaps our internet connection having issues that single day , three days ago, was the problem , and interrupted the game process, unless it was Bungie servers finding a new host was the issue?
Either way, I did nothing to have our console temporarily banned indefinitely, with no prior reason, warnings, or any reason as to why Console temporarily banned from earning points?
I contacted X Box Live and they are clueless and or oblivious to know or advise, they are referring me to bungie halo reach forums contact. I have contacted the admin here prior for the same reason before with no avail.
I do know and for obvious reasons, i did not do anything more than may have interrupted about 4- 5 games at most with my poor connection at that time, if that is the case being?
out of playing more than 50 games that same day console was banned temporarily.
I have no Notice as to how long the temporary ban will last, and cannot fix the problem if i dont know what the ban is for? Not to mention, I dont believe my console should be banned from earning points for more than the time played that may have interrupted the game for that single day or time period.
There was one other prior problem prior to being banned from earning points, i could think of as being an issue, perhaps???
A couple of guys had send messages because they found out i rated them, not sure how, probably because my microphone was on. I was doing this because they were poor sports , because one got mad i made it to the vehicle he wanted before him, and he kept trying to betray me through the whole series of games, So i fought him back… and perhaps he couldnt take what he dished out, perhaps, then he got his buddies to rat pack me too, and they sent me messages sniveling about me, so i just deleted their messages, and rated them for being poor sports, and cheating, when they were .
Nothing wrong with that, IMHO . especially to get penalized for using the system in good faith, then to get temp banned for using it, against some cliche or reckless group that harasses others and manipulates the system, because they are wise to banning peoples gaming equipment for their personal gain, fun, and bullying.
We paid money , and invested our time, we deserve some form of knowing what to expect, as a parent to what we are subjecting our kids too, other than finding out for ourselves that Bungie offers no real way of the kids to protect and defend themselves from bullying or ongoing hacking of their gaming equipment.
I dont feel this ban of our console is justified, its been three days already, we play 8 hours some times per day, and matchmaking too. I believe, the time and money invested and perks with other games related help to obtain the rank level as well, not just skill. although, my skill has improved quite a bit , through reading the small fine print for these online tips i can barely read with my eyes.
well, i hope Bungie will help improve their gaming online experience, because i really enjoy this game and am addicted to it. thanks Bungie for making a fun game to play.
I hope i can be a better player to the others in a short amount of time. i am thankful i have had the time available to play as much or more than some, with all due respect. armor capabilities help a great deal with rank as well, and these earning points are needed for my lack of skills in accordance to my sons rank.
anyways, i will get another membership when i can afford one or when my son’s gold membership does, so we can have a family gold membership.
Hope, you can forgive my lack of experience, and my internet connection that day, and for defending myself against a couple of players who decided to go against their own team.
Other than that, i hope i can be a better player, and will keep improving my skills, game demeanor , and will stop playing when my internet connection slows down or is having issues on a particular day or weather storm.

BTW, just had the Internet People come by and run tests, and upgrade the internet speed and check the ip and make sure they are independent and the line is clear of any traffic that was walking on our internet signal during the time this event took place the evening we were banned, also, we did not have any 7 -14 days of hurting people, it was just one evening at most. please, be kindhearted to us and let us play with earning points, we fixed the problem and will be more aware of this in the future.

I received a temporary ban from earning credits on my console and account for Halo Reach. I read that if my guest doesn’t earn any kills that this maybe the reason why. My guests are my grandkids, which one is 3 years old and the other is 6. We were playing Firefight Doubles and i noticed that the controller kept going out while they weren’t playing so i just kept playing, because my challenge time limit was nearly up. i will not sign in a possible idle guest anymore to solve this problem from happening again. It has been over 24 hours since the ban was put in place, is there anyway to find out if this is why i was temporarily banned from earning credits and how much longer the ban will be? Not all bans last for the same amount of time, if its a second or even third offence, the ban can last longer.
I believe for a second offence it is 48-1 week.

AFK games are were you get into a game and don’t move or get any kills and then continue playing to earn easy cR, it’s bannable and you have FOUR AFK games.
