Why Did I Get Banned - The Official Thread

okay so you justifyably answered this guys question. so please answer mine as people on Bungie forums are ignorant and refuse to give me a valid answer. i had a few games where my friends where round and we triple splitscreened. now they were having trouble getting kills and therefore they had numerous games at 0 kills, getting my entire console banned (which isnt exactly fair in my opinion but whatever). This is my second credit ban on Reach… how long may i ask. first one was 24 hours… this one is still going, 26 hours after the ban was initiated

first off im very new to this website of course… but i have a little problem. I play halo reach a lot now and just recently i received credit ban. I realize that it comes from modifying and stuff like that but i definitely don’t do any of this and the only reason i could see why this may have happened is because ever since a couple games i played that guys seemed to be cheating and lagging all over the place for like 3 to 4 games straight i’ve been credit banned. So is it possible i got banned for interacting in a match with some hacker guys?

also can i have this removed, im tired of winning matches and being punished for something i don’t even know how to do.

Just so you know, this thread isn’t monitored daily by a Moderator, usually you get answers from other forum members. But to answer your question the 2nd ban lasts anywhere from 1-2 weeks. And for the future when you post in here, just be honest, saying it was your friends isn’t going to work. there were 5 games in less than an hour that had both your guests at 0 kills, on top of that you were clearly in a party that was doing the same thing with guests. Im sure the other guy got a Cr ban as well. Thats boosting commedations or medals or whatever.

Whats your GT, cause your screen name doesn’t come up. And you can’t get a Cr. ban for someone else cheating. As far as Iknow cheating gets you a legit xbox live ban. If you got credit ban its for getting 0 kills or having guests that got 0 kills. But I couldn’t say for sure without your Gamer Tag

o ok i get it, my gamer tag for that account is fittestorb96, i may figure the problem is from if the game was on and i didnt know about it sucks actually, how long does this last?

> o ok i get it, my gamer tag for that account is fittestorb96, i may figure the problem is from if the game was on and i didnt know about it sucks actually, how long does this last?

1st time is normally 24 hrs. After that it varies could be 1-2 weeks. It looks like it was only around 5 games.

yeah, someone in my clan says he started the game and played games while i wasn’t playing. oh well too late to do anything about it now will just make sure not to leave that possibility anymore. thanks man

No problem. You are welcome

Ok, so I was kindly redirected here by a helpful community member, Bellsten.

I was banned temporarily from earning credits. I realize now why, and I do believe it’s a bit unjust! My Landlord’s son was playing with me, and he wanted to play with other people, so we played a bunch of Team Slayer and Multi Team. He loves it, but… he can’t for the life of him get any kills. I think he got one, once. Haha.

So, hopefully I can get the ban lifted! Feel free to look at my history! Or anything else you have to do.

I’m not going to play much TS in the future with him, at least not until he can start logging some kills!

My account/console was temporally credit banned. Today was the first day my friend has played Halo Reach on X-Box Live. We were partied up with two of my friends who are seasoned halo players. However for some reason tstantz and I, Fustyy, were credit banned and not them. I’m just curious why this happened and if it can be undone for unjustly getting banned. Information in how this happened so it wont happen again would be nice too.

this is a credit/console ban issue. i was playing reach with my friends, both xbl members and we had 4 guest all together but they were being played. we started playing some team objective and during the sixth game one of my friends and i received msgs saying we’ve been banned!! for what? there was no intention of credit harvesting, k-d fixing or any of the boosting bs that ppl do, but what was funny is that is what just two of us out of 4 xbl members that were banned and they also had friends playing as guest. so whats the deal? is the ban hammer a general thing? if so that means if someone wants to play a matchmaking game with just people they know as guest to on their accounts they can’t since it may be a bannable offence. so how does the ban hammer work in this case? and i got the ban on 01/01/2012 2pm MT, check my game history, ill send video of all the games too if that will help because this just unfair, heck i just need the credit to level i bought everything, i play for fun not show off. thank you for your time hope you guys can fix this problem with in the ban hammer program.

Hey guys. I’m new to the forums, but I’ve been sort of just reading many threads here for like the past month, mostly in the Halo 4 section though.

I just now noticed this thread about banning, so I wanted to know, how long does a voice-ban last in Halo: Reach? I’m not sure why I got muted in the first place because I hardly talk trash, but I do once in a while if someone else really tries my patience, yet it’s a bit unfair how others who talk trash constantly can get away with it. Anyway I’ll srop whining. At first the voice-ban was refreshing because all I could hear were my friends, and I didn’t have to hear the little kids so much. It has become annoying, however, since my friends might be talking to someone else in the lobby, but since I can’t hear the others, I might mistake them as talking to me lol. Rambling aside, how long do they last? I think I’m going on almost three weeks now.

Thanks to anyone who responds, and glad to be on these forums with all you fellow Halo fans!

EDIT: Sorry if this was already covered in the thread. I’m a bit too lazy to sift through 60 pages lol.

Actually MR. ithinkiknowitall… i had a house warmng party, my friend bought his xbox and has a few friends sign in on his. i had a few sign in on my account hence the amount of splitscreeners -.-

Alright, so I’m in the middle of a BTB Slayer and a message pops up right in the middle of combat that my Xbox has a temporary ban and I can’t earn credits in Reach. I don’t mod, I don’t do anything to change network connectivity, no foul language, just good fun. I’ve loved Reach since the first day I played it. I reviewed my last 3 games and I can’t see anything wrong!

The only thin I can think of is that I was playing one player on the second controller since my son had signed his GT out from the first several games before. Please, if someone that knows more about this knows how this works, please let me know why this happened. I swear I haven’t a clue, but I really want to buy a few more helmets with those credits…

0 kills will get a player banned and that ban effects all profiles on the Xbox. So if your son when he was playing on his GT had games with 0 kills then the console and all the Gamertags on it will get a cR ban.

I guess LuckyTheDuck is your son and he has many games with 0 kills his guest allso has 0 kills

Whats your problem? allso post your GT for us to take a look at your game history if you are cR banned.

Edit
I found your post about Commendation issue, so whats you GT?

If your GT is FR1KANDEL? then you are doing it wrong when playing campaign. You need to have difficulty on Normal or higher. Your 12 latest campaign games for the past 5 weeks have all been on easy.

As your ban is probably over, I’m simplying going to say this. From what I’ve read, the BanHammer checks from 3 consecutive games, and sees how many players had what kills. You had 5 consecutive games that ALL guests had 0 kills. I’m not here to fight over what, moderators don’t answer questions here mostly, it says on the first page who will give you answers. I’m telling you what I see from your stats. And unless you live outside N. America, you are the only person in the world that has a “housewarming party” from 3:45am (12:35pt) till 4:30am (1:30pt).

Ok, seriously, you got banned for boosting Cr or medals or whatever. The one guy didn’t get banned because he got kills on his guest account on the 3rd game. You and the other guy didnt.
This game here is how everyone would know it wasn’t an actual guest<mark>.This game</mark>
All of the sudden your main account gets 0 kills and your one guest gets 10? After 5 consecutive games before getting 0 kills?

Were you on the same console? If so there was a 5 game stretch that your friend got 0 kills. If you were on the same xbox that would be why both accounts were banned.
