Boosting achievements with a full party (as in, 8 people playing) = okay. Boosting achievements with AFK guest controllers = no no. You were not banned unjustly since having AFK controllers is not allowed.

that is without a doubt one of the most -Yoink- things on the planet, so it’s okay for me to sit and let people kill me but heaven forbid i also include another controller and let it get killed to; if that’s not okay then WHY is it allowed to have a second controller put it, that’s stupid. the game specifically allows people to bring in second controllers people shouldn’t be penalized for bringing in a second one, or trying to help people.

either way i’m being penalized for helping people and for using the system in a way they allow. i now know buying these map packs was a complete waste of my money and i don’t plan to buy another one of these crap games, i won’t waste my money and try to help people just to be banned for any reason so stupid as, you didn’t get a kill with this controller, because that totally matters in any game, yes you MUST get a kill, there have been a number of times i’ve gone and played games where i only got an assist or two, does that mean soon i’ll start getting banned because i suck at the game, soon these jerks will ban you simply for logging into your profile and putting the game disc in because OBVIOUSLY you’re trying to cheat somehow.
one shouldn’t say here you can bring your controller in, and then ban us for doing it, that’s just a jerk move, it’s something only a -Yoink- would do, so good job halo, you guys are -Yoink- be proud of yourselves.
if you don’t like the game you can’t quit, after all you’ll get banned for THAT TOO, so okay you don’t want to play a game mode that people keep choosing, can’t leave or get banned, can’t just leave the controller sit or get banned, so why buy the PoS game?
No, the guest system is definitely NOT intended for you to log in phantom people to abuse the MM system. The purpose of allowing guests to sign in is for you to play with your friends on the same console. YOU abused the system, the system didn’t set out to get you.
Hi, Just got Halo and an Xbox for my girl s for Christmas and today when we tried to play it states temporary credit ban for console?? Please let us know what this is and why it happened as I am thinking moving from the Wii to Xbox seems to be a bad idea!

My wife and I just got credit banned. And we were wondering if we could get an answer as to why exactly, and for how long it lasts? And after knowing why, if we have a case as to why it happened, could it be reversed?
EDIT: after reading some of these post, it seems that maybe we were banned because she left her controller sitting (an AFK ban, is what I’m getting / assuming)… But she was playing the whole time, except for the times that our baby woke up. We play at night while they are sleeping, and tonight, the baby woke up a few more times then normal. Is this possibly the case? If so, could it be reversed?

Too much afking, thats the problem and I have never heard of a reversal, sorry, next time quit instead of setting the controller down. Welcome to Waypoint =)
how long do the ‘temporary’ bans last? i got one about 18 hours ago, for reasons i am completely unsure of, and it hasn’t lifted. doesn’t say ‘2 weeks’ or ‘24 hours’, just ‘your xbox has been temporarily banned from earning credits’. sucks 
I booted up Reach this morning to find out that a temporary credits ban has been placed on my account and all accounts on my console. I have not broken any rules that I know of. Yesterday, a friend was over, and she played in matchmaking with me. She was absolutely horrible, and averaged 0 kills per game, while she was killed many times each game. I’ve read that this can be considered boosting if the guest is inactive, but she was very active; merely horrible. What possible reason could they have had for banning me?
EDIT: I would also like to know how long this ‘temporary ban’ will last, please.
I just returned from Iraq (I’m in the military) only to find my Halo account “reset”? I lost all of my Rank, achievments, and the 2 million credit “thunder/electric” armor upgrade I bought the day before I deployed. I don’t cheat, I saved my credits, and now I’m a recruit again. This is unfair/ VERY uncool. Can somebody help me out?

I’m also credit banned, and to be honest I deserved it. I never post in forums or checked online, so when playing campaign I thought I found a great way to boost credits. 2 days later without warning or a simple message I found out I was banned. This was 5 weeks ago.
I would like to know if that ban is permanent or when it could be lifted.
I would also like to suggest that if you get banned for something you did wrong you at least receive a message of some sort.

I know what I have done and have learnt my mistake, but I think the ban is too long. I usually play for 5-6 hours a day and getting 0 credits each game is getting frustrating. So if you could reply to this it would be much appreciated:)

Is it your first offense?
And it should say the length of time the ban is.

I think it’s my second but that was for afking. And no it doesn’t it just says ‘This Xbox has been temporarily banned from earning credits’ and then right after that it says ‘This account has been temporarily been banned from credits’ No clue of the time width of the ban anywhere.

2 Goddam Weeks??? Sheesh That IS harsh. The first ban was 24hours, but why the sudden jump???

I think 2 weeks is the extreme, so its that or less, but Im not sure if its a week and a half less or maybe a few days less. Sorry I couldn’t be more of a help.
