It’s not my fault that the matchmaking service split me apart from my guests for a game. (How on earth could I even do anything to influence that?)
Also, there was no “AFKing” from either of my guests. They just sucked. If you were to watch videos from any of the matches you’d see this yourself. One of them (my girlfriend, BCCA) has only played a handful of times. The other (my co-worker, MING) had never played before at all and she really struggled. She fell off the map several times that night, blew herself up a few times, etc. But we were just having fun. We weren’t trying to win.
Although I appreciate the time you took to look into this and to respond, I’m a little disappointed to see that your responses are just opinion-based. Rather than just assuming what my guests were doing- watch one of the videos. I’m not lying to you. There’d be no reason to lie when you have recordings of just what happened.
It’s wrong that I pay for a service that penalizes while I’m using it in the way it’s intended to be used.
I feel your pain, I think the system is flawed in some aspects. However, as is stated on the first page 343 employees can’t respond to every post. All I gave you was what I noticed, you have to remember its a computer program looking over the games for bans. If its something that seems suspicious to a human a computer will ban for it. I would give you the benefit of the doubt as most of the games the guests were on your team, and you gain no extra credits for guest accounts. But the system us set across the board to keep possible afk boosters honest.

> If he did challenge resseting a lot probably you will get your rank reset but it is not permanent! The same is for the cR ban. If you get/have got cR banned it will last 2 weeks!

I got banned today… last night I was playing with a friend, his son was turning an xbox on and off at his house (we were playing on another console) and it kept kicking us out of games.
This morning we start playing and it pops up warning us to not quit anymore. We don’t quit, it’s just the last night thing we thought. We were just playing a game when I stuck a competitor in the face with a grenade, he ran into a group of our team mates and killed them getting me a betrayal… now it says I’m banned!
To say I’m aggravated is an understatement, I’ve been a HUGE Halo fan ever since it came out, I’ve been playing Live for a while and to get banned for something this assinine is just ridiculous.
How do I find out how long I’m banned for and what kind of “penalty” am I getting.

That’s a simple 10 minute quit ban. Unfortunately betray boots count as quits. For future unplugged xboxs can’t be turned on. And after the 10 mins you’ll still be on probation, so try not to quit or betray .
TO whom this may concern: Please unblock the ban placed on my account. I did not realize that leaving the game early qualified “a ban”. Life does happen beyond gaming and when my mom called me for dinner and to help her I had to leave the game. Now that I understnad this is not acceptable, I will make sure that I don’t leave the game early. Give me a break!
I left the game early and I was banned from playing. Please unblock my account so I can play the game. I did not realize that leaving the game early was cause for a ban. Learning curve… I will make sure that once I enter a game that I am in it to play to the end if you let me back in. When my mom called me to come along I had to go. Is your GT the same as your SN on here? If so, the history shows that you played 0 games between 10-11-2012 and 12-18-2012. Sat was the 17th, you couldn’t have been banned then.
For starters i’d like to thank you for reading my sad story. I’ve been into reach since it came out, playing it almost everyday when I’m not at work. I got all the way to the rank of legend when my rank was reset to recruit. I believe this was for afking in firefight which for some reason I didn’t think was bannable (foolish I know). I sucked it up, started playing again and have since changed the way I play and have straighten out my attitude as to not upset the godly banhammer and I’ve gotten my rank of legend back. However, I am not happy to say that 40k credits away from finally getting my much desired mythic I’ve waited so long for I’ve been credit banned for over two days now. I’m starting to think the halo gods just hate me and are trying to “f” with me which is quite upsetting as I’ve been playing online consistantly since halo 2. The only thing I can think of that could be the reason for my ban is how I was killing my friends guessed the other day in rumble pit. I see how this looks like boosting but she simply had no idea how to play halo. If there is a rule against people who are extremely terrible or perhaps have a mental disability then that’s just wrong. What am I supposed to do when she comes toward me, start running the other way? Please fix this.

Yes i believe so. I myself have just been given a temp credit ban and, from reading other forums and posts, have come to the conclusion that it was for playing FF doubles split screen and getting 0 kills on my guest account. I did this mainly because i just like to play FF (proper FF, not custom) alone without the idiots that would rather shoot at each other (and me) than the covenant. The automated system simply spotted the 0 kills and, because the guest is linked with my account, i get the ban.
I had considered the possibility of this looking like a form of cheating or self-boosting but had decided that if it was a real problem, then FF doubles would be limited to 1 local player. Also, it was not a game type that involved other players, so i thought it couldnt be affecting anyone else`s game experience, therefore not considered a banable action. I was wrong and have paid the price.
It did get me thinking though, i’m not the best at this game and have taken part in many Team Slayer games where i get 0 kills due to the other players being better than me and getting to the fight quicker. From what i understand, these occasions would also flag my account as suspicious.
The only question i have, as yourself, is how long will the ban last?
The messages i recieve on loading the game do not say, and i have heard various answers ranging from 24hrs to 2 weeks.

No problem at all. I am a genuine player and it is upsetting to be banned when i was unknowingly breaking the rules. Unfortunately, the banhammer cannot be specific enough to account for all scenarios and when it falls, it will occasionally land on the innocent.

Sign out the guest while you’re still on the voting screen or actually score a few thousand points with it. Better to sign it out so you get the whole screen though.

Will that work? I understand that my guest tag will no longer go AFK but wont it get a quit ban instead?

It doesn’t appear to count as a quit. It’s like the way people dashboard all the time to get out of matches.
Can you please help me regarding a credit ban for my son? We were watching him play and the only thing that could have been the problem is that the remote went idle due to his mother (me) leaving to do something. I have spent a lot of time on with x-box live and I have a reference number 1167980377 but no one at xbox lives knows anything about this. They referred me here for help. I read about your digital ban hammer, but there must be something more. He is not allowed to play without us there and we were there. Please contact me.
