I was playing Halo: Reach when I received notice that my xbox and account had been banned from earning credits. I have looked through forums to find about possible causes and i have come up with two. Either I hit the credit cap or it was while three other players and I were achievement hunting and I used my three extra controllers so it would be just us trying to get achievements. If it was the latter I feel like I was unjustly punished for using those controllers for only eleven games. I would like to know if there is anyway I could be unbanned or who I should talk to resolve this situation. With this being my first credit ban I am assuming it is only for twenty-four hours and some may find me crying over spilled milk but I have never attempted to boost credits in matchmaking only campaign. The only offense I commit is quitting early when I attempt achievements. This is also a flawed punishment since I can still receive credits through the campaign. Once again, I would like to know who to contact to resolve this issue and how.
Seriously, is there anybody i can appeal my case to, or post halo reach xbox live terms of use contract so I can read through it myself so I know what I can and can’t do better?
I really have done my research and have evidence that clearly shows I was not attempting to boost through idle guests.
The following things will not result in a visit from the Banhammer:
Playing with the same group of friends over and over using the party system as long as this is not for the purpose of boosting.
I also received four achievements between 5:34a.m. and 6:57a.m.

> My gamertag is HARLEYCHUCK1
> Hello,
> Im not sure what i did wrong but it seems that my gamer tag was temporarily banned because i had my 10 year old sister who sucks at halo and my girlfriend who also sucks at halo playing with me and not getting kills. Did i do something wrong or should they not play on there anymore. Im sorry for anything i did i just dont want to loose my progress and want to continue to earn credits. my gamer tag is blackfire comet all caps. what can i do to fix this… please help!!!
if you plug controllers into your box and your guests arent getting kills they are considered as AFK resulting in a ban for your account.
also they cant take bans back because then everyone would start crying “but you tookz dat guyz ban bek!!!111 i wantz to getz unbanned two!!!”
however you could send an email to the 343 guys explaining your problem but i doubt they will unban you because of above stated reason

I started up halo reach and it said i was temporarily banned from earning CR. I got no idea why, and i have nothing to do with glitching and hacking. I was playing with two guests the other day the were doing extremely bad, the got either 1 or no kills for like 5 games straight, i was not credit boosting in any way
I was falsely cR banned today. It is my second time this has happened to me: both times I happened to be playing with the same person. What happened was I was playing on Matchmaking with a Guest in Invasion Spire. I played the game normally and after the game, a message popped up saying that my GT and console were temporally cR banned. The Guest, which is my friend, was not doing very good: he was dying a lot, not getting a lot of kills, falling off of the Spire, but was still playing and not boosting in any way. I just wanted to figure out why this is happening to me and if there is a way for it to either stop or for the ban to be lifted. Thanks.
ok. i’m trying to play living dead and as soon as the match starts everyone disappears and me and my friend are left alone. when we start a new game it says we are both banned for excessive quitting. i’ve been getting warnings all day either when I’m just logging in or midway through playing the campaign. is there some sort of glitch in my game or are other people having this problem too?
This is normal. Bungie created this system. If you quit a lot you will get temporally banned from Matchmaking because of it. It is made to prevent boosting, rage quitting, etc. I find it very annoying and think it should be removed but I doubt 343 will. I also believe that this thread should go here
but i didnt quit. i just now logged on. and the last time i played i stayed through the entire match, despite all the team killing jerks that were there. and my partner got banned and she wasn’t playing with me before. also, i did mention that it gave me a warning at the start of the game before i ever clicked on matchmakeing.

oh well. as much as i love the halo universe. i’ve about given up on reach. too much negative game play and server issues. i’ll probably stick to halo 3 for a while.
I recently brought my 360 over to a friends house to show her how to play Halo Reach because she is looking to buy a 360 and Reach for her two boys and wanted them to get a feel for the controls and online gaming. I had them logged on as my guests because they dont have accounts. Since they werent getting many kills per game, i was temporarily credit banned for 24 hours and then another week following the lift on the first ban. i am an avid gamer and have never boosted or left games early. i’ve only been warned once about being banned for 15 min due to a storm knocking my internet connection in and out. Due to the ban, i have missed two days of daily challenges and this weeks weekly challenge as well not to mention the in game credits i’ve lost out on. i feel that this ban wasnt justified and would like to know if someone can help me with this issue. Also is there any possible way for me to gain back the credits i have lost? My thanks and grattitude to anyone that can help me.
These things happen more often than you think. Happened to me a couple days ago. There is a thread somewhere on here by bs angel that mentions all this and basically says " sorry just make it look like your not trying to do that". Which means no play during storms, and do more customs with your friends and less matchmaking ( if they are not so great at the game).
Its sometimes really hard if your guest just isnt good at the game and goes -20 or more every game, that makes it look really suspicious to the system they have that looks for cheaters. It thinks that your purposely giving other players free kills in large quantities.
Every time I play matchmaking someone rage quits then it lags for 2 minutes then everyone on the scoreboard magically dies then it kicks me and I’m banned for quitting every single day this happens to me reset my damn quit ban
