> If playing multiplayer on Halo Reach, this is a must: make sure your NAT settings are open and that your connection is secure. It also pays to make sure Xbox Live is running via xbox.com or test your xbox live connection. Temporarily banning someone if they did poorly is a bit gross. TDU2 and most other Xbox Live games aren’t this harsh to it’s players. This game is one of very few which severely punishes those who quit, have server/connection issues(minor or major), or perform poorly during multiplay. Sad. And isn’t xbox 360 all about having fun?
I believe it has nothing to do with my NAT settings, etc. as they have been running about the same that past several months and my Xbox.live connection seemed to be operating normally. There was a message on the main MM lobby about “the Reach network not being able to locate…” cant remember the whole message.
Someone told me that it could be do to scratches on the disk. I did have the game already downloaded on the HD, so i played via that and although i didnt seen any load failures (maybe once). I feel the the real problem lies somewhere else with 343i.
As for the bans, sometimes the are a good thing. Halo is about promoting competition, which as much as i would like to say i’m great (i’m more like average), i’m not but i enjoy it. But for those that would consently ruin the fun for others do to AFK, rage quit, team-kill, those aer the ones that need bans.
But i believe there needs to be an appeal process before and/or after the bans. Well atleast for the harsh bans, 10 minute bans are nothing. But there should be a way to file something with 343i, if like me feels the problem was not with the individual.
i’ve tried contacting microsoft and an admin here. Seems like no one cares so long as they get paid. He wasn’t afk for that game, he got spawn trapped, which is not afking. Either Ban people for spawn killing, or stop banning people for getting spawn killed for 15 minutes. JFS, punishing people for glitches in the game is BS, especially when its someone else doing it and not them.
I understand 343 Inherited CRAP from Bungie, but come on. I don’t care what anyone says, the ban system isn’t perfect like some of the mods swear up and down it is. “you did something to cause it.” is the only response I’ve ever gotten. Most of the responses from Mods are extremely rude from both Bungie and 343(with the exception of bs angel who has always been cordial, and i appreciate it). I also understand that a lot of users on this site are in fact rude but the absence of customer service is atrocious. Most people paid between 70-150$ for the game. I do believe that pays Salaries…
Hi, I was playing a lot yesterday but then a few of my favorite shows came on, and I decided to let my little sister play.
I wake up this morning to find that I’m temerarly credit banned. I was wondering how long this will last and what exactly did my little sister do to get me banned. I know you probably wont release my ban. I just wanted to express my case and gain info. Thank you for your time.

She AFKed. The ban lasts from 3 days up to 2 weeks…
> I just got a temp cR ban on my console for afking on a second account.
> Does anyone know how long it will be till I can earn cR on my first account?
When your second account gets unbanned, your first will be also available for gaining cR!
> > Thirdly, i understand that you are pissed off but your console is banned also in order to prevent some guys from swapping profiles and “overtake” the ban! I just mention it as a piece of information.
>
> I understand the reasoning here, but in an overzealous effort to punish people who have multiple accounts and engage in behavior that warrants banning you’re punishing innocent people. I think that’s wrong. Ban the offending account. If a second account gets banned on the same Xbox, then ban the Xbox, but not just because one account on it gets banned. That seems like the only fair thing to do knowing that friends, family members, and roommates with their own accounts can use the same Xbox.

> Here is the thing with bans on consoles, etc. Remember the ban system is programmed as an automated process, quite frankly no one has the time to investigate each individual ban and determine what is warranted and what isn’t. The most effecient way to monitor and protect the integrity of the game is to create an automated system, in truth the banhammer is pretty lenient when it really comes down to it.
>
> As for the programming, the designer of the banhammer had to decide to program it in a way to ban a single account or a console. The main reason I believe (emphasis I believe as I do not have a direct answer but looking at multiple bans) is due to the fact that in numerous cases people are either using guest account, a second account, or partying up with people while committing said offenses. So it appears that made the decision that if an account gets to the banned stage, it bans the console since it really does take a consistent issue of the behavior to warrant the ban.
>
> To program the banhammer to decipher between offending and non-offending accounts on the console would be impossible, at that point that would be expecting the program to have intellegence, and a computer program can not have intellegence, true AI does not exist where a computer learns and adapts. Before someone says the AI in games, they are still programmed with randomized movements to create what appears to be intellegence in the game by reacting to what a person does.
There is a great post about setting in the Halo:Reach forum at Bungie.net. Just go over there, then to the game forum, then the Reach forum and I believe it is on the right side of the forum titles “Opening NAT for Dummies” not saying you are just the title of the post. I used this to set up my modem and router for my Xbox and Ipad and what a HUGE difference it made in game play and streaming movies. Even if this is not the issue it is definitly worth the 10 minutes it takes to setup.
As for the load failures, if you are getting temp banned, then it sounds like your Xbox/game is having issues with the game and maps. While you did say you installed on the hard drive, the game still uses the disk to authenticate the rights to use the game. This is to keep people from buying one copy and installing on all their friends Xboxes.
See if your disk is scratched by holding it up and altering the angle in the lights, looking at the surface. If there are obvious scratches you may have to get a new copy, you can try a disk repair or sometimes Gamestop will use the item they have to repair disks for customers. Also make sure you never use your Xbox standing up, it should always be flat, even those stand kits that Microsoft licenses are not good as a standing Xbox is notorious for scratching disks.

Tazz,
This is about the most intelligent or at least most thought out answer i’ve seen in a long time in forums. I do have my NAT settings opened to the correct settings, etc. I even re-tweak them every 2-3 months and i have never seen this particular problem till earlier this week.
Sadly yes my disk has some scratches on them and i have been using damn stand (shame on me, but it was for space reasons). But why did it just decided to screw up now, and in the way that it does? Also i believe i downloaded that on my HD 2-5 months ago, not exactly sure, but its in that time range.
I just find the whole thing odd, as it has not problem, finding players, etc, just when it comes to loading the maps for FF or MM.
My friend, Toddillard and I were doing some online matchmaking and we ran into a really, really hacked game. We were playing Alpha Zombies on Boardwalk. At the very beginning of the second round, the screen went black for 15 seconds and then there was only a minute left. In the last round, I spawned as a human but got turned into an Alpha Zombie (not regular)30 seconds in. I believe the hacker was ‘shazam sk8’ as he got an unusually high number of kills - for example 21 on round two.
The worst thing was after the match, I was missing 100,000 credits. This takes a lot of games to make. Please research the game (it was my last game played at the time of posting) and refund the credits lost.

> Do you have a vid of this odd game?
Post the vid on your file share…The black screen and the 1 minute left could be your lag…and when you turned into a zombie it could be because people quitted and the game has to have 3 zombies, so it turns humans into zombies (as many as it has to in order to have 3 zombies) Make sure that none of these happened, although it sounds really weird!
EDIT: His stats are quite awful for a hacker and your match seems to have changed host…so it looks normal to me.
343 doesnt reset people anymore…the reach population is suffering enough as is…it would be a bad move on their part, to issue anything greater than temp credit bans
My temporary ban was just lifted this morning when I started Halo Reach. Right I’m not playing multiplayer match anymore until my NAT type is set to Open on my DLink wireless modem. And I won’t be going to Xbox Dashboard in the middle of a multiplayer match. That was my 2nd temporary ban which lasted 7 days. 1st lasted like 3 days. I’ll probably get my next ban for not making 10+ kills IF I play multiplayer again.
i received 0 credits after an firefight game yesterday and i thought first that i have hit that credit limit but some houres later (around 00:30) i noticed that im still not able to get credits. is that an temporarly credit ban??? because i havent received an message that my console got baned? i have no idea what i could have done wrong…
I was on youtube for a fast way to get credits so i can get an armor effect, and i found this one where you use the airstike gun (dont remember name lol). I guess I got banned for using the airstrike gun in campaign. I didnt know it was bad but i guess i do now lol. I was wondering how long this credit ban was going to last.
