Why Did I Get Banned - The Official Thread

I was playing Halo Reach reaching the credit limit everyday because im saving up for the armor effect and im 50k from ranking up and in the middle of a game it says im temporarily banned from earning credits. Im not a cheater and I’ve been playing this game since 2011. How long is the ban for and how are people chosen? I can NAME several hackers i ran into during games the past few days who were spawning kill balls and soccer balls and changing their name. Just saying, ban the cheaters and hackers and leave the dedicated players alone

I would like to know. Why when I finish a game a get booted back to the menu screen. The game is over scores were posted and I can go on my account and it says I finished the game. But I got banned for 8 hours. I’m very angry about this I would like some kind of answer please. I am not going to sit here and say that I have not left games. But it’s almost like because early this morning I left a game. They purposely kicked me out at the end of a game just so I’m banned. I get that sound childish but I just don’t get why this happened and why it’s an 8 hr ban. Thanks

90% of the time is earning too many credits in a short period of time and this used to happen to me all of the time and many of my friends used to get banned randomly as well.

This is amazing lol

I have no Idea why I was banned from earning credits I just started playing yesterday and I am not aware of any violations. How do I find out what the ban is for and what to do about it.

I would like to know what violating of the terms of use and/or committing a code of conduct violation I have committed? I have done nothing to be banned from earning credits. I simply play the game and that’s it. If you can’t be banned for leg or any other minor technical difficulties then there’s absolutely no reason I should have been banned and I would like this ban lifted as soon as humanly possible because otherwise there’s no point in me having my gold account due to the fact that Halo Reach is the only game I really play

I believe that somebody was using my account on a different Xbox and possibly that’s why I’ve been banned? I really have no clue why I was banned but if somebody could help me fix this problem that’d be awesome. I have rescinded all my Xbox account profile sign in info so that way they have to have my password to login to my account so it’ll stop the future issues.

I have been gaming with Halo Reach foursome four and a half years now and never once been banned so please help me

I believe I was banned unjustly. I recently bought my gold membership a few days ago and apparently somebody else has gained access to it because every time I signed in it said I was signed in on a different console last and they were playing Xbox One not Xbox 360. I have made it so that way if it’s somehow was my account on somebody else’s console that they were using some help possibly that they can’t anymore but that doesn’t fix me from being banned from earning credits I have Ben gaming on Halo Reach for over four and a half years and not once ever been banned because all I do is play the game no need to cheat. Please help

For some reason, I am a recruit again, even though when I go on my guy it says that I am a brigadier 3. When I play, everybody is a recruit as well. This has never happened to me. Please help.

Sorry buddy, LIVE Terms of Use .

“1.8 How can associated accounts be used? For some parts of the Services, you may be able to set up additional accounts that are dependent on your account (“associated accounts”). You agree to be bound by this Agreement for any associated accounts (including those for minors) you hold now or create later and that you are responsible for all activity that takes place with your Services account and any associated accounts.”

You agreed to terms of use when you created your account, and as unfair as it sounds, due to this, your ban cannot be reversed. Word of advice is to never have your profile on any Xbox other than the models you own, and as for additional protection, password protecting the account is recommended. Also, unfortunately due to Terms of Use, if somebody does indeed hack your account, sadly, you are responsible for their actions on your account.

Looking at your account and it’s history, I’m not seeing Grifball too much in it, and there are no direct signs of modding, so if your account was permabanned from earning cR, it is likely whoever was accessing it to play Reach was resetting challenges using network manipulation, which if the automated banhammer catches is one of the consequential results of that (Being reset to recruit and having the entire armory relocked is another potential consequence).

Hope this helps and have a nice day now.

The maientence on halo reach as been off and needs to be fixed

I’m not too sure of how the “BanHammer” works, but my little brother mods games quite often… but he does it on his own account…

My mother, father, and my girlfriend also have profiles that they play on and we each have our own passwords for each profile… none of our accounts are linked in any way, however, it was only a few days ago when I noticed my halo reach rank was “recruit” yet upon the pause menu, I am a FieldMarshall. I decided to ask my brother what happened and he said he has it too, along with my parents… all of our ranks are acting up. So I was trying to find some answer’s like, is Halo Reach over? Or is it a problem with just all OUR accounts… and I ended up here… please help, I just wanna go back to me and my girlfriend playing with our ranks back.

Is that the problem? It’s not just me? I’m kinda scared because I have a LOT of love for the game and would NEVER boost my rank! I have spent beautifully long hours with me and my girlfriend ranking up… and now we are both back to nothing…

Same but it’s My account along with my Mother’s account, my Father’s account, and my Brother’s account… but I can understand my brother’s situation.

Saw your post about being reset. If you get a warning about offline credit limit reached then it is probably the problem that 343i is trying to fix. It is not just you but seems about everyone right now. I saw a support thread that said that 343i is looking in to it. So hopefully it won’t take to long to get it fixed.

I’ve been temporarily banned from earning credits for four days when I’ve done nothing wrong. I played when the servers were down, servers come back online and BOOM temporarily credit banned. Please help!

> I’ve been temporarily banned from earning credits for four days when I’ve done nothing wrong. I played when the servers were down, servers come back online and BOOM temporarily credit banned. Please help!

Good morning. Looking through your Halo Reach gaming history, according to it, within the last week alone of the 49 (Custom Games don’t count towards this) games you played, you had at least seven games you did not finish, one of them where you have 0 kills. Even though the Reach Servers were down for stats, that banhammer still keeps track of left /unfinished games, and probably had the ability to strike again when the servers went back online and did so.

You essentially quit one of every seven games within the last week, which is about 15% of your games. There also were some previous no kill games and DNFs before that, so you probably hit the threshold for the banhammer to strike when the servers came online. Play your games out from beginning to end and get at least one kill in a game to prevent future bans.

Hope this helps and have a nice day now  .
