Why Did I Get Banned - The Official Thread

I’ve recently moved into a house of a family members for a month and the internet here is utter trash literally. ( DSL in the middle of the country) When i bought Halo reach disc (xbox 360) for xbox one it took more than 3 days to install the game and now i’m having problems joining match making. I get a chance sometimes to play but for a couple days I’ve gotten messages like " you will get banned if you keep quiting games" but only lagged out of two games ever since i bought the game and my four letter clan name isn’t allowed which was “VAMP” for vampire. Now it’s 4/25/16 8:44pm and the server won’t load at all ! Is this on Microsoft and 343’s end or is it my internet that I’m using. I get that my internet is low but why does it not want to load ranking and challenges? Pls Help!!

My account and my Xbox aren’t allowed to earn credits (not forever) for an unknown reason, I only played Campaign (for a challenge) then lot of Score Attack for other challenges (like 1000 kills on Corvette, that was long) .

Nothing wrong but I see one thing… when I don’t have the right map (Corvette) I don’t quit but I kill myself since Score Attack is always with limited lives, game over (in less than 2 minutes) .

I can tell you it’s not new for me but it’s the first time I got those messages (two times for the account) .

I’m Inheritor but just worried.

because someone has a low kill rate does not mean they are doing anything wrong . Do you think there are people who come on here to maybe relieve the stress of the day that are good kills and maybe they would have a good kill ratio if everyone is playing on the same field level and all the mods were stopped because you cant tell me that peron with a game score 60 should be an inheritor hmmmmmmm

I don’t know

I was temporarily banned from earning credits on halo reach and do not know what I did to get banned so could someone please help me.

I had my headset plugged in when my friend came over and he yelled the f word and spawn killed in griffball so I got banned

My first ban happened in the first week of May, and I think it’s a permaban. Why was my first ban a 1 month to permanent ban?

You were banned from Halo: Reach for modding your four player service tag to a character other than a number or letter and modding it shorter than four characters. You have to have four values in your tag. No more, no less, and the fact that you only have three (I highlighted your tag on the PC to make sure) is a clear sign of modding, as is the space inbetween the S letter and the L letter. Modding is against Xbox LIVE’s Code of Conduct, and I hate to say it, but you earned your ban by doing so.

Seeing as any modification to a service tag is detected upon Matchmaking search. I’m probably wrong but I swear that I’ve done it before…

What if we put a space bar? Does that count as having “less than 4 values”?

It was an honest mistake from earlier on. Apparently, the last time I tried, I couldn’t do so due to some weird bug and hence I thought said person’s tag was hacked, but it wasn’t. You can apparently have less than four. You cannot have more than four however unless you are modding.

I don’t even know if I did anything and it was supposed to be a one month ban that started on May 8th so when I logged in today the ban should have been over but it wasn’t

The ban was lifted it just took another hour to process. Thanks for all your help!

it depends on what you did/what happened

Is this forum still up? Because I’d so I have a question

sometimes happens by leaving match or losing connection

Question; I’ve VERY occasionally had daily/weekly challenges randomly reset after I complete them, sometimes an hour later, other times the following day. Am I right in saying that redoing them qualifies as cheating and will therefore result in a ban???

I do not receive any message when I log into reach, but it seems that I have been credit banned. When and where am I supposed to get the message that will tell me how long i’ve been banned? I am certain that I was banned because the weekly challenge keeps getting reset, I didn’t realize that completing the challenges repeatedly would get me banned, but it makes sense that that would be considered boosting. looks like I am not the only one who is experiencing the challenges resetting. Beware to anyone who tries to take advantage of this glitch: it will get you banned.

Hello, sorry for my english.
I am playing halo:reach from a week and yesterday it stopped to give me credits in matchmakin! I also appear like a recruit and with the starter armor…and i can’t see mine emblem and also the other…
I think you have ban me cause i do a daly quest 2-3 times at day, but it’s not to farm! i switch off the console while dinner and lunch, then i switch it on and play, if the daily quests reset doing this is not my faut

When you can´t earn credits in multiplayer ,all the spartans (including mine) have the recruit rank and you cannot access the challenges, It´s called a Cr Ban?
If not then what it is?

Thanks for your time

Nones ban its just the severs.

My son just started to play Halo & now he’s not earning credits. I has had many games where he gets less than 5 kills. From what I have researched this might be an issue. Also our network will often kick us off-line.
We didn’t receive a message or anything.
I’m confused because all he wants to do is play & earn credits.
Honestly, I rarely played video games & we both have no clue what boost even means.
Doesn’t seem fair. He doesn’t even know how to cheat.
There has to be a better way to protect the integrity of the game and not punish those who follow the rules.
Please advise.
I don’t even know if I’m writing this is the correct place to have someone look at my son’s game history. Hopefully by looking at it you can inform me what happened & how to avoid this in the future.
