Why Did I Get Banned - The Official Thread

> Ok last night I was playing Halo Reach fine then this morning I woke up I went to play, my game loaded up and just randomly crashed as soon as it finishes that blue flashing loading screen then it crashes, I’ve reset my Xbox, my net I’ve done eveything but it just keeps crashing, am I the only one getting this.???

Don’t think that means you have been banned OP, sounds like something might be wrong with the game itself. If i’s a digital download, you might want to try reinstalling the game. If it’s a disc, blow into the drive and make sure there aren’t any scratches or dust on the disc and try again. Might also want to try the disc on another machine if you can and try a few other games to make sure they load up ok

343i did a hard reset on the Reach Servers to try to fix some issues, from people being temp cR banned in leaving custom games, the File Share not allowing people to add new files (Giving a Transfer Failed Message), and getting the “Welcome to Halo: Reach” or one of the Forward onto Dawn Messages everytime starting up Reach. Community Engineer Cizlin has notified 343i two days ago and they are working on the issues as we speak.

They have fixed the “Welcome to Reach”/Forward onto Dawn messages and the cR banning in custom games issue, but the File Share is still being worked on as it seems to keep going out, not allowing new files to be uploaded. So 343 is working on the Servers to fix the remaining issues as we speak. As for TDI SeanG’s issue, let stckrboy or Cizlin know if this persists after the Servers have been completely fixed of all the given issues as it could be related to the Servers messing up. We just have to wait and see.

I am wondering if the ban message is supposed to appear every time I sign in. Every time that I have signed in over the last two weeks, it has said that I am credit banned for two weeks, and I don’t know if it is supposed to show the message every time…

he probily got banned cause he was constant leaving and betraying

agree. on 360 the same thing happened to me. dont feel bad, i just left my xbox alone for a few hours and i came back and it was fine

In Halo Reach I got credit banned and I have no clue why. Any info would be nice I know power and Internet were going in and out from weather could it be that the system thought I was cheating/Quiting?

Isn’t calling out against forum rules?

It’s funny that we need a thread about this

You can get banned from Halo matchmaking, if you quit too many online match’s or if someone reports you for unfair play, hacking, etc. Otherwise there is no other answer.

All the ways you can be permabanned from Halo: Reach:

  • Modding, not limited to but including of/adding
    -Changing a nameplate
-Changing your four letter/number service tags to variables other than letters and numbers
-Changing your four letter/number service tag to exceed four characters
-Giving yourself the Eternal Armor effect
-Giving yourself cR you didn’t earn
-Modding your Commedations higher than they should be
-Giving yourself Armor you didn’t earn, especially if you are at a rank lower than the armor’s requirement
-Giving yourself Achievements you didn’t earn (Which can also follow by either a Gamerscore reset as well and/or a permaban from LIVE services)
-Makes changes to the campaign, or making yourself Invulnerable in the Campaign

  • Use of modded content, includes:
-Modded Custom Game Types (Although rare, you can be banned for using them)
-Modded Custom Maps (Although rare, you can be banned for using them)
    -Modded Profile Game Save
    -Modded Campaign Progress Game Save

  • Network Manipulation, which includes:
    -Lag Switching
-Resetting Challenges to boost extra cR

  • Repeatedly intentionally degrading the Gameplay experience and Game quality for others with negative and unsporting actions, includes:
-Idling / AFC / AFK (Away from controller, having your player only physically present, form of boosting if you will)
-Unsporting Conduct (Betraying teammates excessively, Glitching Matchmaking maps for the advantage)
-Trash Talking/Overagressiveness (Usually you get a mute ban, but in excessive cases, can lead to a ban from Reach or LIVE services)
-Not finishing matchmaking games (DNF/Did not Finish) /Leaving Early from Matchmaking games/Being Booted from Matchmaking games/Being lagged out of matchmaking games
-Exploiting maps to boost (As an example, exploting the respawn points in Grifball, and spawncamp killing to boost Kill Ratio, Commedations, and cR)

  • Cheating, includes-Achievement Boosting
    -cR Boosting
    -Commedation Boosting
    -‘Statpadding’/ Kill Ratio boosting
-Glitching/Exploiting in Matchmaking to give yourself an advantage
-Modding/ Using Modded Content and/or Hardware (Example Aimbots and Modded Controllers)/ Using Network Manipulation in Matchmaking

Really isn’t that difficult, Don’t do the things mentioned above and you won’t get banned.

So if you guys remember when your servers went down for abit like aday or 2? Well after they came online. My account was banned. I stopped playing because i thought well i may as well play destiny. But Now that Reach is now playable on the XB1. I would like some staff of 343i to look into my account and see why i was banned. Heck. I am ranked in the world for invasion. Top players. Along with the iNf4MouS Team and GRAVITY.My account gamertag is Starmie HF

i got cR banned in custom games on halo reach

Oh how I loved Reach, I would recommend consulting someone who works at 343/ Bungie and ask them for an explanation as to why it happened.

I’ve never been banned from Reach

Nope, looking at your Halo: Reach game history, you were cR banned for leaving numerous Slayer games early within a short time frame of four days, four games to be precise. I am also seeing numerous recent Grifball games with no spread on K/D, which would also suggest you leaving early. So the banhammer caught up with you while you were in a custom game. To prevent being cR banned in the future, complete all your games beginning to end.

Good morning.

Now that the LIVE Core Services are up and running again, I looked into your case. I have reason to believe that your account was banned from Reach for having Achievements modded. No matter what I do in any way, shape, or form, I cannot view any of your achievements from any game, including your Halo Achievements here on the Halo site outside of Halo 5 (In which you have 0 GS for and no achievements unlocked), which is an indication of an Achievement reset and lock.

Hope this helps and have a nice day now.

Edit, looking into your Reach Stats, your Commedations are clearly modded. Only killed 4057 Covenant in the Campaign, and yet you Onyxed all Campaign Commedations, which would have required the minimal of 167200 Covenant Killed if executed in precision (Not counting Covenant Kills from Firefight, so those are also modded too).

In Matchmaking, you only have 27,162 kills, but to Onyx all the kill related Commedations. You would have also needed the minimal of 311200 Matchmaking Multiplayer Kills if executed in precision to have properly Onyxed them.

So, it’s safe to say you were banned from Reach for Commedation Modding.

Yeah. I know. I was apparently in a nodded lobby. The guy goes by <mark>[redacted]</mark>I don’t mind what happens but if I could have that reset that would be nice. Cause he said I just had to stay. I’m not a quiter so I didn’t know of he was lying or not.

You might want to remove the said name from your post as it is against the forum rules to call out people. I have no control over bans, that is done by an automated system. I can simply tell based upon certain things being out of place or simply outright wrong whether or not an account was modded. Due to your agreement with LIVE’s Terms of Use and Code of Conduct, you are responsible for your account and all actions on the account you are held accountable for.

So it seems then based upon said knowledge that you were percieved as knowingly playing with people using ill-legit methods via modding, which in itself breaks the Code of Conduct agreement, which would explain your ban. You would’ve been better off leaving that said person’s party, you didn’t have to stay, really all you had to do was press the power button on your Xbox, go to xbox.com on your computer, block communications with the said individual, and then get back on your Xbox and play as normal. It would’ve ended right there and you would have still been able to play Reach on your current profile.

The second I know somebody is using mods in any game that LIVE has services for, I bail and leave the game for this very reason, so I don’t get slammed by violating the Code of Conduct by knowingly staying. So your ban is not reversible due to this. if you want to play Reach, you may want to start a new LIVE profile as that is the only way you are going to be able to. I don’t make the rules, but I know them enough to know what is trouble and hence what to stay away from.
