You have no signs of modding, which is good, and you don’t appear to have from what I can tell any quits/laggouts/AFC(Away from Controller). From the way it sounds, the automated banhammer may have thought you were trying to use network manipulation to reset challenges. Actually doing so is against the Terms of Service you agreed to upon signing up for LIVE gold, however this sounds like a mishap. If this is the first time you were cR banned, it should last only 24-48 hours.

my account is earning cR again. I hope don’t see this again, since i never did anything wrong on my Xbox and Xbox live. Thanks for the quickly response for my previous question. best regards Wagner

Looking at the amount of games you played that day I would say you hit the daily credit limit of 200,000 credits. Easy to do with that many games. And the fact that you haven’t said it was lifted on the same day leads me to think that it was just the daily limit temporary ban. That resets every night at midnight in your local time zone.
Hi!
I recently got MM banned (I can still play customs) for one week. The message didn’t specify what I did wrong so I have no idea what I did wrong. I play lots of doubles and people quit out or DC a lot because they are cowards who don’t want to face tougher competition. Was just wondering if the banhammer had treated me wrong.

There have been lots of Legit players banned who play doubles and have teams quit out on them. You asked has the banhammer done you wrong well IMO it has as I have seen many players get perma bans as a result of massive win steaks in doubles due to quitters. I think the banhammer must think players are network manipulating to gain an advantage and I know in most cases that this was not happening.
Not much you can do about it but if you don’t want a perma ban stay away from team doubles.
Who is the proper person to speak to about a communication ban? Xbox has been no help and it’s only in this game that there appears to be an issue. Troubleshooting has been done multiple times and still no mic and unable to hear people and mic is not registering, but works fine in all other Xbox 360 games.

> Bad news: If you are checking this page because of an in-game message, it is likely that you have been banned for violating the terms of use and/or committing a code of conduct violation. It is also possible in the case of an especially egregious violation, that your Xbox 360 system itself is now banned from Matchmaking. The duration of this ban will be based on the type, frequency or nature of the committed violation.

> • Skill, EXP, or Credit Boosting, deleveling, idling through games, cheating, habitual quitting or any other type of unsociable and unsportsmanlike behavior.
> • Impersonating a Bungie, 343, or Microsoft employee on Xbox LIVE with intent to defraud or cause harm to other players.

>
> Please note that while this process is automated, it is accurate. Bans are almost certainly legitimate, and will stay in force for their stated duration. To keep your matchmaking privileges in good standing, immediately cease any unsociable behavior and wait out the ban. Either way, there will be no response communication from this process.

We have no way of detecting who is playing with your account, and if your gamertag is caught making naughty, you will be banned. Those are the rules.
>
> I didn’t do anything wrong, and you can’t prove it. Will you please reverse my ban?

> No. Like it says above, our automated system builds up a digital case of wrongdoing before any ban is enacted. If you accidentally disconnect a time or two, you won’t get banned. Instead the system looks for patterns that can’t happen accidentally. If the banhammer detects enough wrongdoing, you were doing wrong. Case closed.

> *Will posting in this thread guarantee my ban will be lifted and that someone will respond personally to every post?*Unfortunately, no. We simply don’t have enough eyes, ears and typing hands to respond to every single post. However, the community will help keep you honest. You have a public game history for everyone to see. If you post you were banned unjustly, the community is in their rights to check out your history to confirm or deny your claims. Please, just keep it clean.

> The purpose of this thread is to keep all questions pertaining to bans in one place. Without a megathread for such questions, the rest of the forum will almost certainly turn into a cavalcade of ban questions.

We don’t want to have to ban anyone, but we do want an open, honest and positive place to post about all things Halo, so a thread like this is necessary.

Should I be worried? I was playing halo reach and got into an argument with some clan member cause I kept getting the sniper. The guy decides to get his clan to spectate. He is the host and they are watching the match as green team. At some point in the game I get invited to their party and they start accusing me of using a modded controller. (which sounds stupid cause he was saying my dmr shot faster than his) I said that’s stupid considering the dmr only shoots so fast to begin with and if your not just clicking the right trigger as fast as you can, if you time your shots it shoots faster and cleaner. I ended up winning the game 25-4 and they were threatening to report me for modding and cheating. At the time I was using an afterglow controller.
If you weren’t modding or cheating, then you have nothing to worry about. If they have reported you, anyone looking at the report will be able to see that. Don’t think you have anything to worry about

I was literally banned moments away from completing “Like a record, baby” which is the weekly challenge to complete 75 Firefight rounds. This challenge rewards the player with 28,000 credits. I put effort into this challenge and I’m wondering if I can be properly rewarded with the 28,000 credits. I don’t mind the sudden ban, but I do disagree with the time to ban me. Like I said, moments away from completing the challenge. Not sure if you guys were waiting for this moment to ban me or something. Is there a way I can be rewarded my 28,000 credits? I just want my reward, not for the ban to be removed. I don’t mind waiting however long it takes.

Form the looking at your game history you have several games that you did not get any kills in. The System detects this as AFKing ( away from your controller and not playing the game) and awards an automatic temporary credit ban. This is done to avoid exactly what you are doing. Just sitting idol in the game and earning credits just for being in the game.
All I can suggest is don’t complete the 75th round before this ban is lifted or you wont get credits and when it is lifted actually play the game instead of being AFK. if this is the first time you have ever had a temporary credit ban them it should be lifted within 48 hours.

I understand what you’re saying, but that brings me to my previous question. Is there a way I may obtain my reward of 28,000 credits? The challenge is already completed. I thought I’d get the credits because it was a challenge and it worked differently from regular game completing credits/commendation credits. Again, I don’t mind the ban. I’ll wait for it to be lifted at whatever date it’s scheduled too, I just wish to obtain the 28,000 credits.

As you completed the challenge when your temp ban was in place the credit wont get rewarded. Challenge credits are rewarded at the time of completing them and if you had a credit ban then you wouldn’t have got credits and I have never seen the credits awarded later after a ban has been lifted. 343 don’t monitor these forums any more nor do they really care about us reach players either so your protests just fall on deaf ears and only get answered by fellow gamers like me based on what we have seen and heard from many hours of playing the game.
Why did i get banded i just came back to xbox after 96 days after getting hacked offline and it comes up ever time i go on Halo: Reach saying “This xbox 360 console has been banned permanently from Halo: Reach online”. I pay for xboxlive and i payed for this game for what i can’t even play online?

What do you mean by “Hacked Offline”. It doesn’t makes sense. Surely someone has to be online to be hacked. Console bans are usually handed out to console that have been detected as being modified. So if you mean your console was modded or “hacked” by someone other than yourself then that is still your problem under the XBL T&Cs.
For some reason my son is banned from earning credits. I know he hasn’t done anything wrong he doesn’t know how to do anything wrong in the game. Can you please fix this. I’m sure you can look into his acct and see he hasn’t done anything.

A brief look at the game history attached to this account shows a lot of Zero kill games in grifball. You need to explain to your son that too many zero kill games is detected by the automatic banning system as the player being away from the game or AFK as it is mostly known. Yes it sucks because this means players how have little skill get credit bans. Grifball is full of spawn killing bad kids anyway so tell him to go play firefight or team slayer and get at least one kill or assist per game to avoid future detection. As this is his first offence it will be only 24-48 hours. he can still play, just cant earn credits.
