Thanks for the information, I will start on the new account so I can play!

I would check they haven’t applied a ban on your console too before you make another account. Can you sign in and play any other games besides Reach. Did the message you get say account or Console or both. Modifying your service tag usually involves modifying your xbox with a Jtag and that has resulted in console bans as well for a lot of others who have done this.

When it first banned me it said both, but I could play all other halos, when I went on last week it only said my account was banned not my console

Hi i was wondering if i could get an unban for Halo:Reach, what happened was me and a friend of mine were playing online and saw a bunch of people with different service tags as in like longer than should be, then i saw a Bungie service tag and i being curious looked up how i could get one, i did what the video told me to do and then i got my service tag. in my head i thought it would be a good idea to flaunt my new tag and went online, i was banned from online the minute the second game started, it really bummed me out and i miss playing Halo:Reach so here i am asking and pleading if i could please get an unban, or some advice or something. to restate i was banned both my account and my Xbox were and i have learned my lesson from ever tampering to look cool or something in that sort and wont mod online any more even if its something that looks so cool. please help.

Good evening.

Your ban does not fall into the rare 1% category where it can be reversed due to fault of the game via glitch or bug. As admirable as it is that you admit your fault of your ban, you broke the Code of Conduct you agreed to upon signing up for an Xbox LIVE account, and hence the ban from Reach is not reversible. You modded your game, you deal with the consequences of your actions, and you honestly should be grateful you didn’t recieve an account, console, or IP ban from XBox LIVE for modding both your four letter/number service tag AND your Halo: Reach nameplate.

It can always be worse. What I can recommend is either A.) Start a new LIVE account if you want to play Halo: Reach again, or B.) Play another Halo game. There always is Halo 3, Halo 4, and several others to play. I don’t mean to sound harsh, but you broke the rules via modding both your nameplate and service tag, the banhammer detected it and rightfully swung. You’re going to have to deal with the consequences of your actions.

Good morning.

You’re welcome, I do my best to help. I was under the assumption based upon what you typed that you changed both. Still though, a ban like this is not reversible. You have a wonderful day now.

Please delete this post. Thanks!

Why did I get banned? I never even read the replies on this website anyways lol

Good morning.

If you were banned from playing Halo: Reach, and are not being sarcastic,it would be from you AFC/AFKing (Away from Controller, meaning you’re idling in games, physically present, but not playing) in one match on 02/01/2015, one match on 01/31/2015, in fourteen matches on 01/28/2015, AFC/AFKing in six games before that during the month of August of 2014. If you were banned and aren’t being sarcastic, I would say you earned your ban as a consequence of your actions.

Why there is still people who hacks the game to be able to WIN… they used that cuz they R N00BS…

may I ask if people can get banned for claiming to be hackers and/or ruining other peoples game experiens and overall preferens of the game? I am just wondering.

If someone is consistently ruining the gaming experience for others and enough reports are filed to that matter, yes I believe their account could be banned for a short time. if you come across someone doing this, best thing to do is file a report against their gamertag - un-sportman like conduct or something similar. If you’re playing with friends, get them to do the same

People can be banned for ruining the gameplay experience of others, because it violates XBox LIVE’s Code of Conduct , section F to be precise.

From the Code of Conduct Page, Section F: -“Do not take any action to cause degradation of service for Microsoft or other users, including but not limited to network interference or manipulation.”

As for claiming to be hackers, I know Microsoft has the ability to read people’s messages, and I’m sure if a person make enough claims via messages and are reported, communication, message being the reason, they could potentially recieve a ban.

But, stckrboy has the right idea.

If a player ruined your gameplay experience by not playing the game properly (As an example, constantly betraying you out of spite)

-Use the ‘submit player’ review feature to avoid the player, having ‘Unsporting Conduct’ be the reason.

  • Additionally, If the player ruined your gameplay experience by boosting their K/D by constantly killing you through exploiting the spawn system (Primarily in a Objective gametype) or using a glitch.

-File a Complaint, Cheating being the reason, as boosting is a form of cheating, as well as exploiting vulnerabilities, which violates Section F of the Code of Conduct

From the Code of Conduct Page, Section F: -“Do not exploit game vulnerabilities or glitches.”

If a player is proclaiming to be a modder or hacker:

-If they sent you a text message regarding it:
-File a Complaint, Text and Video Communications, Text Message being the reason.

-If they sent you a voice message regarding it:
-File a Complaint, Text and Video Communications, Voice Message being the reason.

-If they say it to you ingame,
-File a Complaint, Text and Video Communications, Ingame Voice being the reason.

Why was my friends banned for being in a party with hackers? I’m not sure they deserved to be taken out along with cheaters.

> 2533274815131399;5537:
> Why was my friends banned for being in a party with hackers? I’m not sure they deserved to be taken out along with cheaters.

Good morning.

If you’re friend or friends was/were banned for playing Halo: Reach with a party of Hackers because it violates Section F of the Xbox LIVE Code of Conduct your friend agreed to upon signing up for his/her Xbox LIVE account.

From the Code of Conduct Page, Section F: -“Do not intentionally play with someone who is using unauthorized software or methods.”

If you’re friend or friends realized that his and/or team was hacking, the recommended thing to do would be the following:

-Leave the game and capture the proof of modding or hacking in the theater and save the video, and upload it to their Halo: Reach fileshare

-Use the Submit Player Review feature to avoid all the people who were modding on their team, Unsporting Conduct being the reason

-Use the Report feature on the same players, using Cheating or System Tampering as the reason.

-Send the footage from their fileshare via link to a Halo Waypoint Moderator for further inspection.

If you’re friend knowingly knew his and/or her teammates were hacking and stayed in the games they were in despite that, which it sounds like is the case, then he and/or she violated the Code of Conduct and hence suffers the same consequences as the hackers/modders via association.

I hope this helps and have a nice day now.

All my other accounts work fine. But the one I want to use for reach is still banned. I was wondering if anyone of the admins had something to do with it.

Everyone who gets banned deserves it
