Just received a message saying my console is credit banned. How do i find out why and how long for?.

Around the same time 343 turned off the Custom Challenges this has been happening to doubles players. They must have tweaked the banhammer somehow so that any players who have had opposition quit on them in doubles all the time get flagged for a ban for network manipulation. When it first started happening I was suspect of players claims due to the rampant host booting that used to plague doubles. Once some of the top 100 doubles players that are legit players started getting banned I believe that the bans are wrong and should be reinstated. The problem is no one from 343 cares about reach anymore and they wont do anything.

I agree I played with my little cousin who had never played In his life. It was only one game and I didn’t get banned but it could have happened. I think as long as both players are active it shouldn’t matter if you don’t get any kills

343 has no place you can reach them. They as a business have no clue of customer relations. Look at what they did with MCC. They maybe should do something right and fix WHAT THEY messed up. The funny part is, I have a list of 20+ hooters and another of cheaters who mod or manipulate connection. But 343 has banned not a single one and I am banned for people dashboarding. They are so fair.

The automated banning system was hardwired by Bungie isn’t it? If so, then 343i really has no control over it. If I’m correct, there’s no reason I flame 343i for this issue.

To start, please for the sake of other people here on the forum, do not post potentially offensive comments. Some people may take your statement the wrong way. It is also against the Halo Waypoint Forum rules. You can read the rules you agreed upon when you signed up to use this forum here .

Oddly, while taking a look through your game history, none of the stats from the actual games would load for me. Because of this, I am unable to see if you were banned for you or guests linked to your account getting 0 kills in games on a repetitive scale. Based upon the way you are talking between your two posts however, I am going to assume you were banned for quitting too many games, and if that is the case, it is not a terrible system. It sounds like you left a lot of games before the two you posted about before, ruining the experience of the game for other people, and when it was in your favor to actually quit for a legitimate reason (Or you were forced out of a game because of your own actions, which is your fault), the banhammer caught up.
What also backs this up is your spread. I see a consistent pattern of large positive spreads and large negative spreads. This is typical for people who quit a lot of games. They will stay when they are killing a lot, but in a game where they are being killed a lot, they will quit. Remember, the game stats don’t lie. I would say your two temp bans were justifiable and legitimate.

343 has full control over the banhammer and in fact had to tweak it for the release of Halo 4. they did make some changes back in November that saw a lot of players getting bans like this guy. The problem is their is no real feedback system to report incorrect bans and actually have someone look at the issue. But it is a 5 year old game so I personally don’t expect them too. If everyone knows the rules they can avoid it and it isn’t a problem then.

Spy Crab. While you might not like the system it is what it is and we have to live with it. A quit can be anything from intentional leaving a game, booted for betrayals, Dashboarding, DDoS (disconnect from XBL) or lagged out of the game during a host migration. Approx. 3 quits in a short time frame sees you placed on a 48 hour quit probation. Any quits during that period results in an instant 10 min ban. Most think its fair as the 10mins is usually the time you would have played if you had stayed in the game.
The probation ends 48 hours after YOUR LAST QUIT GAME. Not 48 hours after it was issued.
So if you keep quitting you will stay on the probation forever. Don’t quit ( remember the definition above) a game for 48 hours and it will be reset. If you lag out all the time then don’t play for 48 hours and you will be OK once you return.
I was playing Halo Reach once and after a Custom Game, everyone in my game was stripped of rank and returned to recruit. It was fixed later that day but I was pretty annoyed.
I was also completely stripped of my Halo Reach rank after an online game when I first started Xbox Live. It was never fixed. If this had not Happened i would probably be a reclaimer by now. Oh well.

Everyone getting stripped of rank and showing as recruit happens from time to time. You were lucky you were playing customs because when this happens in Matchmaking the servers seem to go offline and we have to go play customs anyway. It isn’t usually down for long when it does.
The second thing you posted happens to every player who started playing the game in offline mode and then took the account online. You earn a lot of credits in offline mode and when you go online they calculate how many credits you would of had had you played the same amount online and reset your rank accordingly. This was done deliberately to stop players ranking up really fast using glitches and boosting in offline mode and then taking that high rank online. Had Bungie clearly explained that to every one when they bought the game most players would have either never gone online if they started in Offline mode or started online play right from the beginning.
