Why Did I Get Banned - The Official Thread

Can I get an explanation of why I was perma banned from earning credits even tho I didn’t due anything to violate the terms and conditions for cheating modding or whatever your bans are able to so called “Detect” I believe I was banned for no apparently no reason. Let me explain. I’m a firefight type of person I like doing this kind of game for the easy commendations. I finished that game of firefight next second I was temporally credit banned. Then I hoped in a custom game next msg that popped up said both my console and account have been banned from earning credits. I would like to know why you banned me for this and fix this situation and or find the person who was able to have my gt.

if you want to question me further there my Gt even tho you guys won’t do anything
thatll be great if you can respond to this asap
thank you

I never got banned

> This sucks, so on halo reach im really really close to ranking up to mythic, which is a big deal for me cuz it takes a ton of cr to rank up at my level…so i got cr banned for idk how long, ive never been cr banned before. What happened is i had to go eat dinner so i was afk for a few games in grifball (maybe 2-4) then i get back on and play like 3 more games of grifball then go to firefight matchmaking to do a daily challenge, then about 7 min into the match, BAM! It says my council is temp banned from cr and my account is temp banned from cr, im really pissed cuz im superrrr close to mythic and ive been legend for 3 weeks and now i can get that little 10,000 to rank up…how do i get this ban off or how long is this ban going to last? Ive seen 24 hours around the internet…

If it’s the first offense, then it takes around 1-2 days. Do not AFK mid game, quitting once is better than being cR banned.

Ok So Me And My 3 Friends Were Playing SWAT When I got done I went to the Xbox One To Play The MC collection When I came back it said I was perm console banned and account banned help I wanna rank upp xc

Can anyone help me? here’s the thread:

U really want to read this… I’m absolutely clueless…

I don’t know why I got credit banned today. I was playing with 4 other friends at my house with 2 xbox’s. We all like swat so we were playing that alot and 3 of them do pretty bad almost every game. I would average about 20 kills a game and I had the worst person on my xbox who would get maybe 1 kill every game and they were on the guest account. Then all the sudden I got a message mid game saying I was credit banned.

343 Dosnt Care About Halo’s Bungie Made They Don’t Even Reply .-. I got banned for no reason but yet no reply

That appears to be very true… If u read my thread I posted, u can see how much money i’ve had to spend just to play my favourite game… And they don’t even have the courtesy to tell me why… If only i knew what i was doing so “wrong” to get banned would help me alot. And it’s 8 times now and it’s ridiculous… Basically in my view i just play double team. Then i get banned for a week, both console and account. Then i wait it out and and play a few days and i get banned permanently… A very “consumer-friendly game” this one… Just happens to be the one i’m fond of…

> Good news: The vast majority of you reading this will never need to post in this thread.
>
> Bad news: If you are checking this page because of an in-game message, it is likely that you have been banned for violating the terms of use and/or committing a code of conduct violation. It is also possible in the case of an especially egregious violation, that your Xbox 360 system itself is now banned from Matchmaking. The duration of this ban will be based on the type, frequency or nature of the committed violation.
>
> In most cases, Custom Games will still be available. In extreme cases, they will not.
>
> Types of violation include, but are not limited to, the following example actions:
>
> • Manipulating network conditions to give yourself an advantage, or to the detriment of the experience for other players.
> • Modifying your Xbox 360 hardware or game software and services in any way.
> • Skill, EXP, or Credit Boosting, deleveling, idling through games, cheating, habitual quitting or any other type of unsociable and unsportsmanlike behavior.
> • Impersonating a Bungie, 343, or Microsoft employee on Xbox LIVE with intent to defraud or cause harm to other players.
>
> The following things will not result in a visit from the Banhammer:
>
> • Lag (poor or intermittent network performance).
> • Occasional disconnects due to inconsistent network conditions.
>
> Please note that while this process is automated, it is accurate. Bans are almost certainly legitimate, and will stay in force for their stated duration. To keep your matchmaking privileges in good standing, immediately cease any unsociable behavior and wait out the ban. Either way, there will be no response communication from this process.
>
> Below are some sample questions and answers.
>
> I shouldn’t be banned. My brother/sister/cousin/dad/mom/friend must’ve logged on with my account and done bad things. Will you please reverse my ban?
>
> If this is indeed the case, we do understand your frustration. However, it is your sole responsibility to keep your account information secure and not share it with others who would abuse it. We have no way of detecting who is playing with your account, and if your gamertag is caught making naughty, you will be banned. Those are the rules.
>
> I didn’t do anything wrong, and you can’t prove it. Will you please reverse my ban?
>
> No. Like it says above, our automated system builds up a digital case of wrongdoing before any ban is enacted. If you accidentally disconnect a time or two, you won’t get banned. Instead the system looks for patterns that can’t happen accidentally. If the banhammer detects enough wrongdoing, you were doing wrong. Case closed.
>
> Will posting in this thread guarantee my ban will be lifted and that someone will respond personally to every post?
>
> Unfortunately, no. We simply don’t have enough eyes, ears and typing hands to respond to every single post. However, the community will help keep you honest. You have a public game history for everyone to see. If you post you were banned unjustly, the community is in their rights to check out your history to confirm or deny your claims. Please, just keep it clean.
>
> The purpose of this thread is to keep all questions pertaining to bans in one place. Without a megathread for such questions, the rest of the forum will almost certainly turn into a cavalcade of ban questions.
>
> If you were banned and think you have a case, this is the ONLY thread you should post in. If other moderators see posts pertaining to bans in other threads, they will either be deleted outright or a kind-hearted mod might just move the posts to this thread.
>
> If any users are caught habitually spamming ban threads in other threads, we will consider that a violation of the forum Terms of Use. You will risk being banned here as well. We don’t want to have to ban anyone, but we do want an open, honest and positive place to post about all things Halo, so a thread like this is necessary.

Only if it were that easy to the community…

Modding doesn’t get you banned, it’s hacking and credit glitches ghat get you banned.

> Modding doesn’t get you banned, it’s hacking and credit glitches ghat get you banned.

Modding can get you banned. If you mod your profile to change your service tag or something like that, it constitutes breaking XBL ToS.
