i get my points then the screen changes from my player to a match lobby screen with a box in right hand top corner with myself and 3 other players (who i didnt play with the prier game) before i can exit. the game seems to enter me in to a game agin automaticaly. does coop firefight 4 player matches go for more than one game? the game i played lasted about 30 min or so. so haw long do i stay or when do i leave. I havent played since banned im afraid of getting in more trouble.

It’s kind of strange that you’re being put into a lobby with people that you haven’t played with. Maybe your internet is slow, which would cause lag.
And no, Firefight matches don’t go for more than one game.

The only time a profile is permanently banned is if the account has been modded. Do you cheat in your online matches?

There is a glitch in Firefight co op and from what you have said above i think i can see your problem.
Believe it or not you are being issued a temporary ban for Quitting. I know your not quitting but let me explain why the Banhammer( thats the automated ban system) thinks you are quitting
FF uses a different Network model to normal matchmaking. You are being matched with other players and someone is being selected as host. If you lose the host or the Host quits the game it is incorrectly recordded as a quit by ALL players in the match. Even though you finish the game and you get credits in the postgame carnage report. Thats why you see the other players on the postgame screen too. and guess what. they have had a quit game as well.
Why does this happen. It could be a number of things like your NAT could be closed.
Not much you can do about it other than play with players whom you normally have a good connection with and dont quit or just play Score Attack. This problem started happening a lot after 343 took over the server from bungie and i just started playing Score Attack as i was sick of being temp banned for quitting games i didnt quit.

It sounds like you have been placed on a quit probation.
If you leave a game, get disconnected, get Host booted, get removed for a betrayal will see that as being recorded by the banhammer as a quit. 3 or 4 quit games close to one another will see you placed on a quit probation. Any quit during that probation will see you banned from MM for 10 mins. The probation lasts for 48 hours but there is a catch. It resets to another 48 hours everytime you get a temp ban. So if you keep playing and keep quitting the probation can go on for days.
My advice is talk to your ISP and check your internet is not droppiong out. Check your NAT on your xbox and nmake sure it is not closed or strict. Try and find out why you are getting disconnected from games. Fix that and your problem will go away.

Mate what you are suggesting is in breach of your XBL T&Cs. If the banhammer detects it you will be perma banned. I wouldnt do it at all and if you do play offline only on system link with friends.
I have recently been given a credit ban, and I have no idea why. I have been playing firefight, and other matchmaking variants, and not quitting. You have a Credit ban for guest AFKing ie: not playing the game). A brief look at your history shows a few games of firefight where you had a guest signed in and they got zero kills.
The banhammer detects players with zero kill games including guest accounts. It awards credit bans for AFK behaviour. Usually 24 -48 hours for your first offence. Then a week for second offences, then 2 weeks and then even longer bans for repeat offences. But i guess you have worked that out as your later FF games with your guest account show they have been getting a few kills now.

If the guest account doesn’t get used during play for whatever reason make sure who ever is at the tv use it regardless. However, if the guest player isn’t going to be used after a game has started, would it be better to sign out the guest? And if we were to do this would the banhmmer consider this as quitting a game?

I am pretty sure that if you sign a guest out once a game has started you will both go to the lobby. There is however an easier solution to your problem. Make sure your guest gets at least one kill.
I don’t know if this the right place to put this but I thought I’d give it a try. I turned on my Xbox and started playing Reach today. I noticed right away that my rank and armor were apparently reset to Recruit and default appearance. I pulled up the start menu and found that my rank and armor were not changed at all. I thought this was just the result of server maintenance because I also could not access my service record nor any challenges today either. However, as soon I started playing matchmaking I discovered that no one else has their rank or armor changed and several of them have completed challenges today. None of my friends have their stats reset either. I’m wondering if this is the result of a ban of some kind. I got no message at the start up screen informing me that I had been banned. I realize that this may not be the right place to post this concern but if anyone could give me any suggestions on what has happened I would most appreciate it. Thanks.
And another thing: I apparently can’t use a service tag nor can I gain any more credits online. It’s telling me that I’ve reached my daily limit offline even though I’m playing ONLINE! I once again ask if anyone knows if this is the result of a ban on my part for doing absolutely nothing wrong I please ask if you could tell me what’s the problem. I know the servers were down for a time earlier today but I logged on after they should’ve been fixed. Your help or advice will be much appreciated. I’ll post again tomorrow if there’s any changes in my predicament.

Console bans are only usually handed out for Modding offences. Did you attempt to modify the game in any way or modify your gamertag to make it clear.
Alternatively has anyone else used modded content on your Xbox that you may be unaware of.
Console bans are usually never reversed.
I just got my Xbox a few days ago and got halo reach to play online with my boyfriend. I will admit that I suck at the game, but I’m learning and have been getting much better. After I started getting ten plus kills in the game after an hour or so of playing I got a notice saying my console and account have temporarily been banned from earning credits. I did not understand why where I had done nothing but play the best I could. Is there any way the ban can be lifted? My game record should show that I’ve not only been killed ten plus times each game but that I’m not getting that many kills due to learning as I play. I find this system of “catching cheaters” ridiculous since I’ve done nothing wrong and am being Punished.

It seems you have worked out why you got a temp ban. Zero kill games being detected as AFK games. Just try and get at least one kill per game or even an assist will help you come under the banhammers radar. Unfortunately there are still some players who go AFK just to earn credits and this is why the system has been in place since Halo2.
Perhaps let your boyfriend start the game with your controller and once he has got you a kill then swap them back. Or play Firefight and customs until you get better and can stand on your own fett on the battle ground.
