I had a look at your game stats and you played quite a few games of Grifball with guest accounts singed in on the 22nd and the day before on the 21st.
While you guys werent boosting for kills and commendations a lot of your players got zero kills in many games.
The 343 has an automated system called the banhammer that detects games where players get zero kills and issues a temporary credit ban for what is termed AFK activity ( or Away from Controller). The system beleives that if a player doesnt get any kills in a game then they are AFK and that is a bannable offence. You see some players just sit idle in game after game to earn credits. Others spawn kill the hell out of the guest accounts to record positive KD ratio of +200. This is called boosting and is not allowed. As i said above though judging from the fact you hardly got any kills at all on the main accounts you were not boosting.
First time credit bans usually last 2 days but looking at how prolonged you played for without any kills in games i would say you have copped a week ban. Next offences will be longer leading to a perma ban for serious repeat offences.
My advice is when you go and play some fun games with your daughter and friends which it looks like you were doing make sure every player gets at least one kill and then you will avoid the wrath of the banhammer.
No one from 343 can lift your ban. Only other players like me can advise you on why you got it and how long it may be, based on what we have seen and heard playing the game.
Can anyone check why i got banned in Halo 3. When I load the game it says the banned wiil be over in three months. Its been 10 months and the ban is till there. Can some one please help me?
MS Support says I’m mute banned in Halo Reach, I’d like to know why. I only use my mic to speak to my team, I can’t stand hearing or talking to the other team so I know it wasn’t any verbal abuse on my end. Can someone confirm this ban? And is it possible to have it reversed? It’s effecting my game when I need to communicate with other players on my team that aren’t on my friends list.

Not much you can do about it. So many people mute oppostion teams now that the system just awards mute bans when a certain number of players have muted you. It sucks and heaps of us get affected by it.

We cant see any game history on Waypoint for Halo3 so it is hard to work out why you may have a ban. But i will say one thing is it has been 10 months it is probably a permenant ban. No one here can help you as we are all just gamers like you. You could try and PM BS Angel ( 343 community officer) for an explaination but dont hold your breath waiting for a reply.
You know its a such thing as being away during a game or 2 but that doesn’t mean they are idling for like 50 games. I really wish whoever is in charge would remove the idling ban. IT’S BS!

My girlfriend and I were playing and shes not very good, and she sometimes gets no kills. I dont think its very fair we are both banned from getting credits and having fun because thats all we do is have fun !!
Hello, this week i have been playing Halo Reach non stop using custom challenges griffball, ff and swat. On sunday i was only about 250,000 away from my next rank. So i played alot, then i asked on the fourm that if i reach my credit limit will i get banned, and they said no. So i played and played waiting for a notification to come and say i had reached it, but it never came. However, towards the evening i left to go to the sonisphere festival (still a notification hadn’t come up) and then i come back the next day readyn to finish ranking up when a little message pops up saying ‘you have been banned for gaining credits for 2 weeks’! Firstly, i havnt had a first bann, so it shoud be 24 hours, also when do i rech the cap or go over it? It NEVER TOLD ME!!! Anyway, i hope that you can remove the 2 week bann, or at least tell me why it didn’t tell me when i reached the cr cap!

What will get you banned that isn’t specified, Oni challenges. Did you create custom challenges for medals/kills on Oni Sword Base? Did you do nothing but this for whatever reason since it is your business and not mine? Did you suddenly get some level of ban without interacting with a single living human within the game of Halo Reach? You have been banned for <Insert time>.
Here is a theory about this 200k credit cap that somehow gets you banned when you hit it. The daily challenges for reach may include getting X kills for Y credits. You do your challenge run for 200k correctly capping out at the intended amount. The server thinks you earned 200k credits in addition to your X for Y challenge hence you have gone over the credit limit without actually earning more than the cap. Congratulations, you have been banned!
So enjoy your <Insert time> ban. There is nothing that will be done to remedy this situation even if you honestly did nothing wrong. Is repeating Oni Sword Base custom challenges considered credit boosting? Will we ever learn an answer to this age old question? Can you provide a direct link to a direct post of someone from 343 directly addressing this question in a direct manner that is best summed up as Yes or NO? If you can respond with authority please enlighten the rest of us. Either way you are banned, like me, and nothing will be done.

You have obviously worked out why you got banned. I know the whole “girlfriend got zerokills and they think my guest is AFKing” thing sucks. The best way to avoid future bans is to start the game with her controller and after you have got 1 kill for her swap it back. As long as she gets at least one kill per game the banhammer wont think you are AFKing and award a credit ban.
Says I am banned from earning XP. What did I do. Me and my sis where playing and next time I log in am banned why. It has been over 4 days also. I am no cheater.
I used to credit farm and got banned from credits for 2 weeks. I then played matchmaking after the ban was lifted. I played alot and really well, but I was banned from everything. PLEASE HELP
