Why Did I Get Banned - The Official Thread

and how can I change this biginningspark1 to my gamertag to show my actual stats?

> if you have a guest play that doesn’t get kills and is sometimes in the negative could this cause the console/account ban?
> and how can I change this biginningspark1 to my gamertag to show my actual stats?

It is the exact details of every ban are unknown except by the Devs. But it’s generally understood that either you or the guest triggers the ban by scoring 0 kills.

I tried to run experiments testing if I can get zero kills, while getting many assists, winning and still get the ban… But what I found was no matter how hard I tried, my enemies kept killing themselves on accident, or lag killing them after I did a tiny bit of damage resulting in me earning a kill… It is very difficult to shoot at some one and never get a kill for an entire game… Even if a person is honestly just not skilled, it’s bad enough that denying them the rewards of ranking up are really justified. Testing this ban was such a headache. ( Click Here For Test One)

Yes all credit bans link both your console and account to prevent a repeat offender from logging into a different profile on the same console. But I think you mean to ask if it is can become permanent… I have not heard of it ever happening. Except for repeat offenders, but only because the countdown of when the ban expires can be restarted. Lets say its the last day of a persons credit ban but then the earn a new ban… They might feel like its a permanent ban, but it is not.

Gt change? I have no clue. Try logging into waypoint on your console, as it is a direct connection between your gamer tag and waypoint interacting that may fix it. If not, ask around…

> I’m trying to understand what the no kills thing is (yes I have read the posts lol). So is ‘no kills’ a matter of yourself getting no kills on other players or other players getting no kills on you? Or both? Thank you for the replies.

0 deaths is a good thing (it means you have not died)
0 kills is a bad thing ( it means you have not killed)

Look at it this way. You are a member of a team of 4. If you pull your own weight, you will do nearly 25% of the work.

To win, your team needs 50 points. Evenly distributed among 4 teammates scores should look like: 13+13+12+12=50

You need to score 12 points just to do “your fair share” and hopefully die less then 12 times. (Or else you are the one giving the enemy free points)

Yet to not be banned you are only required to earn 1 single kill per game. Just 1.

Lets pretend you scored 1 and your team carried you to victory, the score might look like: 17+16+16+1= 50
Even though you avoided the ban, you were a large burden on your own team. 0 kills is just where the line was drawn, the point of which it has been decided these people do not deserve cr because cr are a reward for participation. 1 kill is the minimum amount of participation being asked for.

(Click here to watch a match where 1 such teammate did exactly that, earn 1 kill and a bunch of deaths. No matter how hard I fought back, my positive performance was negated by his negative performance. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qw9asi-HIsE )

Thanks TimZaRob! I appreciate the explanation. It made it much easier for me to understand  And the videos links are a good idea too.

Cheers.

I dont know if this is the right thread but my mainly accont (lipao255) was banned permanently from halo waypoint forums, i wasnt trying to bypass any bans etc, i want to know why 343i did this? So i cant discuss about halo in my mainly accont?

ok so xbox says they show no bans on my account or console but yet im still temporarily banned from earning credits. can anyone tell me why?

Yeahh if it’s title specific it’s not Xbox you contact it’s 343

how and who do I get in touch with 343? isn’t that what this forum is for?

I normally ignore questions that are answered on the same page as the question… Here is your hint… On the same page of your post is the answer to your question about your cr ban. The answer given is further confirmed just by looking at your service record/game history.

Why am I credit banned?

> Why am I credit banned?

It’s possible that you hit the credit limit for the day. There is a certain amount of credits that players can earn in one 24-hour period. If that’s the issue, your ban should be lifted by tomorrow.

It’s also possible that you played so poorly that the banning system considered you to be not participating during the online matches you played in. If a player doesn’t participate in a game they joined, it is considered cheating because someone could leave their controller and still earn credits every time a game ends. The credit ban would prevent those people from getting credits from cheating. If this is the case, the ban could last longer than a day, possibly a week (depending on how many games you played poorly).

0 kills is the reason, or daily credit limit! To put it simply :stuck_out_tongue: Yay I’ve completed Halo 2 just saying

Please read other post befor asking. Also, just in case you missed your answer in your other thread.

Would using a cosmetic mod on Halo: Reach such as the Blizzard mod get me banned?

I’d like to know as I enjoy playing with various special effects combos to make it appear like the weather is different, i’d really like to make that a true thing with the blizzard mod.

thanks for reading and please reply.

Yes. Do not let modded content be connected to Xbox Live. If detected/reported, banhammer.

It would be cool if you could get ‘official’ type mods at some point, just an option for changing weather and wildlife etc  Would be pretty sick :stuck_out_tongue:

Anyway I’ll stop posting off thread topic :stuck_out_tongue:

That’s a shame…

ah well…

thanks

I agree, perhaps that could be an option for Halo 5 :stuck_out_tongue:

Yesterday my children and I started getting a 10 minute ban in matchmaking for “quitting”. Come back after a bit the game allows us on we get into a matchmaking game then after about 3 minutes there is a lag and the “other members” drop off. We finish the game and at the end we are notified that we are banned…AGAIN. The pattern is consistent…we are not “quitting the game”, we get CR for finishing just like normal. Please tell me what is up with this or where and how to find out.

Got banned for no apparent reason. Let my girlfriend have a go at a few matches and the ban came up. The bot system is heavily flawed IMHO. You can’t punish someone who pays 50€ a year just because he let his noob friends have a go at the game. Stats don’t take into count a lot of info that actually counts. Hope bungie won’t be doing something like this on Destiny. I recently bought an Xbox360 just to have a go at the Halo franchise and all the xbox360 exclusives before next gen comes up. Coming from a PS3 owner, something like this has never ever happened On PSNPlus. Very positive about the Xbox experience, yet very disappointed by this ban. Got Killed 3 times by the same player with Betrayal and didn’t even get the boot option…let my GF have a go at capture the flag and i get punished for it…
