The changes of Bungie’s website no longer allows changes for nameplates. You’re stuck with what you have.
What must I do to get unbanned? This is 2013 and all post I have seen have been AT LEAST 1-2 yrs ago. I get penalized because I suck @ the game? I don’t understand. Been banned twice now in the last month and time the before this was for 4 days now I am going on day two. It is sad that “A REAL PERSON” can’t be contacted and that a machine/software is determining who can play and who can’t. I think that, that is un-sportsmanship like conduct and the Ban-Hammer ought to ban itself. Or, maybe Humans ought to step in on legit complaints, or maybe an avenue for where the complaints can be looked @ and heard. Or, at the least a display of the “REASON” for the ban, maybe a “WARNING” stating that “You are about to be banned due to your conduct / being a sucky player.” Don’t get me wrong, I love the game and so does my two boys and we like it alot. But this suck worse than the way I play. I hope in the future that someone would explain exactly what I am doing wrong so that I and my family / friends can enjoy your product. Sure would be nice to have a response to this one. Thanks to and to everyone that reply and can give me some real answers.

You can’t be banned for just being unskilled… The closest ban that can hit players that are just plain unskilled is a credit ban, wich doesn’t ban you from playing. You haven’t explained what ban you are experiencing so no one will help you till you explain properly what you are experiencing.
Possibly one of these?
<mark>Quit Ban</mark>: Triggered by multiple DNF games or Did Not Finish. Anything from Internet disconnecting, dashboarding, hitting quit, and being booted. None of these alone trigger the ban but multiple offenses will result in a 15 min ban, followed by a probation period. If a DNF is detected during probation period, longer bans can be dealt.
<mark>Credit Ban</mark>: aka AFK ban. This ban is triggered by players who play as if they are away from their controllers. Please do not start games online if you don’t intend to play them. 0 kills = 0 credits. Such behavior is not to be rewarded with credits.
<mark>Mute Ban</mark>: triggered when many other players manually mute you. If enough people have manually clicked the mute button, xbl decides to have you automatically muted. If people want to hear your voice, players must manually unmute you. This usually happens to people who use kinect mics too close to TV speakers that blast noise to other players headsets. Also common practice in competitive playlist to be blindly muted by the other team.

It was a credit ban, and like I said I love the game and still play however it does bite, not being able to advance in ranking etc… NOT just me but my two boy have the ban too because it for the console and acct. What are we doing wrong??? I do play and a lot of times the game ends w/me having “0” kills, I admit I am not good @ all @ this, We would really like to know so we can fix it on our end???

I recommend just playing campaign, firefight and custom games for some time. Firstly just so you don’t risk getting a “0” game and prolonging the ban that starts as a 24 hr ban and can be extended weeks for repeat offenses. Secondly to get the basics. I wouldn’t play online till solo campaign on “Normal” dificulty seems simple (or firefight on Heroic)
I made a couple videos trying to intentionally get 0 points… Just trying to gather more info on this ban. As long as you are pointing your gun at the enemy and discharging your weapon, its very difficult to get 0 kills. Here are the videos

sent a long message to you about my ban,however not sure if it made it or where in the web i actually sent it,sorry,at any rate wondered if i can find out what the infraction was , credit ban on me my son and console,now appears to be only console,going on just over a week and expected it to be up today,this is on halo reach,i have put a lot of time on the game and earned credits for the most part “legally”, i believe. however if i did something wrong just would like to know what it is and when the ban will be lifted…

I have a re-occurring issue… I keep on getting banned for lagging out… Idk what modding is, Idk how to cheat, and I never quit… I just have crummy Internet… It’s fracking annoying… why is that even a rule, banning for quitters ??? …

Please don’t start what you can’t finish. Its very annoying when teammates leave, it puts the players that stay at a disadvantage just because a quiter left. Leaving on a rare occasion will not result in a ban because, well, stuff happens. Every body lags out sometimes or has to answer the phone, go to the bathroom or even tend to a crying baby and just log off. That rare and occasional leaving is simply life and will not earn a ban.
However, habitual DNF (did not finish) is bannable. You are knowingly entering a match that you will likely not finish. That’s your fault. You have a bad connection… Well, fix it. Sounds cold hearted but its not our problem, we all have to have a minimum amount of connectivity. If your service is not enough, get a better one. It’s not fair that your teammates constantly are left without a teammate because of your selfishness.

You lag out… You know you lag out often. You choose to start a game knowing you have a high chance of lagging out. Yes, that’s selfish and bannable. Upgrade your connection or enjoy your ban.
It’s not anyone’s responsibility to care about your bad connection. Your behavior, selfish decision to start a match you won’t finish is a problem that ruins the fun of others. If you lag out, that’s fine… You won’t be banned. But habitual, repetitive lagging out… You will be banned.
Also, its not my system but it is a necessary one. Why can’t they tell between quitters and just a lost connection? I can only answer with this question… If there was a penalty for quitting but not a penalty for a lost connection, what would stop quitters from just disconnecting their routers/Internet on purpose so they can avoid penalty? This is why all DNF must be treated equally. On purpose or accident matters not. Either way interferes with the enjoyment of others that would rather not share the experience of you lagging out. But again it will take many instances of DNF to earn a ban, you will then be on a probation period. If you know you are at high risk for disconect and are still on a probation… It’s up to you to decide to play and risk another ban or fix your connection problems then play. Hope you get your equipment and services all sorted out.
I got a message that I was banned from earning credits and it said to check my Hotmail account for info. I checked my email account and there was nothing from Admin or anyone concerning this.
How can I find out why and for how long.
Any info would be appreciated.

I don’t agree that you should get BANNED if you quit games.
I play mostly SWAT.
Sometimes, I’m in a game and the enemy team is clearly either cheating, modding, or has a terrible connection and I’m getting destroyed and constantly spawn killed. There have also been times where the enemy just EATS headshots, and its frustrating.
I think when this happens I have the right to quit the game if I choose instead of completely wrecking my KDR.
Also, what happens when my entire team quits and its a 4v1? I’m supposed to stick around and get trashed because I’m out numbered? BUT, if I quit, I risk being banned from Matchmaking for a short time?
I shouldn’t be punished by being banned because I choose to quit out on a game that wasn’t fair to me anyways.
Just room for thought in my opinion.

cool, so do I. I’ve seen plenty of cheaters on you tube but out of hundreds of matches I can’t say I ever ran into win. I find it difficult to accept that anyone can run into so many cheaters that they quit so many times and earned a quit ban though…

I would have won if my teammates quit sooner and didnt give the enemy free points. I only quit if I know I’m outnumbered and out outmatched. If your enemies don’t know how to spawn trap you, then being outnumbered in swat is not a problem worth quitting for, its an advantage to have more targets.

Hello, im new to Halo 4 and tonight i received the ban from earning xp message while playing online. I dont curse or do anything i know that is “wrong” or cheating ect. I have read the different reasons of how one may get banned for a few days but how can i find out what i did? To prevent me from doing it again lol. It may have been the daily xp earned limit, but im not even sure how to check that.
Can anyone help me?

This place is for Halo Reach bans. But if you read these last few pages here, all info on credit bans for Reach… It’s essentially the same info for XP bans in Halo 4.
Got perma banned from Halo: Reach last year around January I think. A couple work buddies and I decided to go play Reach one day. And the next day, I got banhammer’d. We all played Alpha Zombies together, so I have no idea what the reason could be. I didn’t really care then, but I want to play Reach so this is kind of important.
You guys can check my Game History & Service Record to see. All I did on Reach was play SWAT, Infection, and a whole lotta Gruntpocalypse back in the day. Oh and I doubt I had that many quits.

Pera ban would not be perma if it could be lifted. Buy new console and new account. (If paranoid that someone is picking on your account from high up in 343, use a different credit card or payment method on that new console)
Also, if you read the first post you will find you are unlikely to get a response from 343
