i also play with her, while she isnt the strongest player, she is learning very fast, and to be banned because of inability, only constitutes the inability of the ban system, the games may be rated mature, however per the game case, online intereactions may vary, so why punish the ones who are still learning to play, my opinion is that it is a cheap way for microsoft to get money and then penalize the consumer, and it needs to be corrected, maybe even a class action law suit from these innocent players would open the corporations eyes into the injustice they are committing, now, in response to her missing game history, she has only played halo 4, and your game history picture show halo reach, so she would not have any history showing, 343/microsoft needs to get their things straight before they lose a huge customer base, i have seen other games, where new players arent punished, but those who do go afk and such are detected and ejected from the matches, it should not be based upon kills per match, rather it should be on how the player actually interacts during the match, standing still for five minutes…ban…trying to actually earn kills against players whom outclass you, no ban… there are temporary films after a match so players can see how they did, if those are there, then 343/microsoft can veiw them too, which is unacceptable why their ban systems attacks based on kills if this was the case then they wouldnt have so many posts on these threads, i for one am a mediocre player, some games i get 0-5 kills some games i get 20-30 it just depends on who i am playing against, so punish me for the games i completely failed on? meanwhile i paid 60 dollars for the game plus another 10 a month just to play online with my friends, oh and dont forget the 400 on the xbox system itself, truly sounds like a ban of this nature is blatant theft…and unless fixed soon i foresee huge amounts of people moving to the FREE playstation network
now also this whole topic of firefly006669, should be moved to the official ban thread for halo 4, i have notified firefly and remote crash that this was on the wrong thread,
You can’t file a law suit and win… It is stated in the Terms of Use that players may be removed from multiplayer for disobeying the rules set by Xbox Live. Also, 343/Bungie has rules set stating that they can ban players whenever they feel it is needed. And by purchasing the game, all Halo players have agreed to their terms.
Here are some things copied and pasted from the Xbox Live Terms of Use:
2.5. What limitations apply to my access and use of Microsoft and third-party content? We may disable access to Microsoft and third-party content associated with your account for any reason.
4.3. BINDING ARBITRATION. IF YOU AND MICROSOFT DO NOT RESOLVE ANY DISPUTE BY INFORMAL NEGOTIATION OR IN SMALL CLAIMS COURT, ANY EFFORT TO RESOLVE THE DISPUTE WILL BE CONDUCTED EXCLUSIVELY BY BINDING ARBITRATION. YOU ARE GIVING UP THE RIGHT TO LITIGATE (OR PARTICIPATE IN AS A PARTY OR CLASS MEMBER) ALL DISPUTES IN COURT BEFORE A JUDGE OR JURY. Instead, all disputes will be resolved before a neutral arbitrator, whose decision will be final except for a limited right of appeal under the Federal Arbitration Act. Any court with jurisdiction over the parties may enforce the arbitrator’s award.
So don’t complain that Xbox Live and the companies that produce games for them are unfair, because you’re the one that accepted the rules that they made.
" why punish the ones who are still learning to play," credits are rewards for playing… Withholding rewards is not a punishment… A punishment is when credits are taken away from your account.
Halo 4 and Halo Reach… Earn your stuff or don’t.
0 kills will earn you 0 rewards. period.
My account has been banned from using voice online for one week and I don’t understand why because I don’t cheat I never talk trash or bother anyone online when I’m playing. As a customer my only recourse would be to not support your product or your services any longer for being wrongly accused and penalized.
I agree with(ExpiredPanic)if I get another unwarranted banned after paying 100.00 dollars for Xbox Family Gold And Two Halo game at 62.00 dollars a pop I’ll be done with Microsoft. We have 3 Xboxes and 3 PlayStation my Son an I respect other players online we’ve never had a problem after all these years now I get a ban

This isn’t Bunige’s fault really, so don’t take it out on them. The reason why you were voice banned is because other players muted you (possibly you use a mic?). A lot of players do this by instinct whether the player muted was being rude or not. If too many people mute you, then you’ll get a temporary voice ban. There’s nothing that you can really do about it except hope that other players don’t mute you for no reason.

Like Zombie said… Is not a Bungie or even 343 ban.
You were voice banned because players (other paying customers mute you, and the mute you often)
Three main reasons people mute other players
-
they are using a kinect. Kinect + loud tv = annoying because the kinect mic sends your tv sounds to other players headsets. If your tv is loud enough you could be really really annoying and even you teammates will mute you. - move kinect mic farther away from speakers or disable the mic/ turn down speaker volume
-
people just don’t want to hear what you say… The legitimately were offended and clicked mute - solution, keep conversation to the topic at hand, Calling out enemies and strategies. If anyone mutes you for that, they are jerks.
-
MLG/ Arena and other competitive playlists. You will often find in those playlists players are lazy and mute everyone not on their team. This is rude on their part because all they have to do is go to their mic settings and set to team only. This often results in free bans being handed out.
My guess is you have a kinect. And you are accidentally assaulting people’s eardrums and people mute you enough that you been mute banned.
To 343 my account was tempery banned from earning credits I fell asleep while playing Xbox and now I can’t earn credits

Please read first post… 343 will not respond to this thread. Also, don’t worry, you ban is almost expired. Please stop falling asleep at the controls.
> Can anyone tell me why im banned? or if its temp or perm?
You have not described you ban? Banned from entering matchmaking? Banned from earning credits? Mute ban?
Either way, most likely yes… You ban is not permanent. Probly. Perma bans are giving out only to big habitual bad behavior.
Hey,
Ive just receieved a message saying Ive been banned from playing matchmaking on Xbox live.
As far as im aware there is no reason for this and it totally sucks as I have a rare day off!
Would I be able to find out why this has happened?

Could it be because you were boosting with friends or not participating while a game was going on? Or possibly you have played but got 0 kills for a few games in a row? Another possibility is that you might have quit too many games? All of these situations will lead to a temporary ban that can last different amounts of time.

You have no game history for Halo Reach

If you mean Halo 4 matchmaking… If you aren’t banned yet, you might be banned very soon due to so much quitting.
When I play Halo 4 online it shows me that I have no mic plugged in which I do and everyone’s mic-less, so I assume I’m chat banned. I never got a message on XBL or email about receiving a ban and I find my case different from others. The one week chat bans others received have them just permanently muted to the public but still allow you to unmute them if you wish. My case is not like that. I would like it if you could take the time to clarify / give me details pertaining to my dilemma. Thank You.
Gun Whizz - You are in the Halo Reach Ban Thread. Please go to the Halo 4 Ban Thread to ask about this issue. Thanks!
The other day, I logged on and found that I was permanently banned from online matchmaking!
I know I boosted with the custom challenges in campaign, and I know that I habitually quit, sometimes excessively.
Is a permanent matchmaking ban a typical sanction for this behavior? Can someone look at my game history and see if they can explain the problem? I don’t want to get banned on Halo 4!

Perma ban is not typical and reserved for real big booboo’s (modding and what not)
Hello,
I was banned for what I think was my lack of skill in matchmaking. It’s telling my that I’m temporarily banned from earning credit and on my rep it says that I’m unsupportive. I don’t play too many games like this and I’m not good at them but I was trying to learn. Is there anything I can do about this to be able to earn credit again and keep from being banned for not being a professional gamer. I very rarely game as it is and it’s very disheartening that when I finally tried. I was banned from earning the credits. I was also wondering if you could tell me how long I’ve been Banned from earning credits as it says my account and my council have been temporarily banned but, not for how long. Also is there anything I can do to let them know that I’m learning and not just sitting around?
I’m sorry 100% unsporting is what’s on my rep 0% on everything else 90% prefered 10% not

Don’t worry
- its temporary
- it does not put you at a disadvantage in game. (Credits are used for rank and armore… Neither affect you as you play)
You don’t need to be pro to avoid this ban. As you start the matchmaking system gives you opponents it considers “average skilled” and as you win or lose it will build a trueskill profile of your performance. However the reason you were banned was not because you lost but rather because you earned 0 kills on multiple occasions.
To avoid this from happening again you should try beating the campaign under “normal” difficulty. The basic skills learned should be sufficient to hold your own in matchmaking enough that you never get 0 kills.
