So I have a question. I have been playing Halo Reach / Anniversary Edition with my girlfriend on the same network, and our internet connection loves to mess with her. She has an Xbox (S) 360 and I have the original Series 1 (the one known for red rings). I never get disconnected but she gets kicked off all the time. And apparently it has gotten to the point that the game thinks we’re cheating. She quit out of 3 games in a day and after that it kept warning her for 2 days continually, that if she quit out of a game she’d be banned. Well last night we were playing the game again and the router or her network card dropped her. and when she was able to log back in to XBL she had a ban. Now it keeps threatening this, and this is out of our hands. I have an E2000 Router and my internet connection speeds are 4mbps up and 30mbps down. I’ve saved her MAC address on the router so it knows what to assign her so there are no IP conflicts, that I have read about being a common problem with multiple Xbox’s on the same Wireless Network. But even after all of this she still gets kicked. This tells me its most likely with the hardware itself (or this limited new patch [because this only started happening after it]). But why would she be receiving bans when she isn’t leaving games and she has intermittent problems with connectivity. Also before I get some wisecracks telling me run a wire. Its 50 feet from the router and I’d have to crawl through 2 crawl spaces to do that, which we have done in the past and Field Mice keep eating the cable (last one was wrapped in aluminum tape, and they still got through that). So can I get a mod to tell me by what the account is saying the problem is, because I’ve been playing Halo since Halo 2 was mainstream, and this is about the most ridiculous “ban” I’ve ever seen. Also anyone else have some further insight on this matter?
I got banned from earning CR temporarily for afking in 1 match for a first offence it should take 1 to 2 days It has been 4 someone give me a reasonable explanation for this…

Banning a person because they are a terrible player or because they are learning and not doing so great is an injustice, in my opinion. I understand the ban if the person is AFK and/or quits matches repeatedly; however, penalizing one for learning or just sucking I disagree with.
Not once have we gone AFk or quit a match, hopefully our ban doesn’t last long
First, i appreciate the helping hand guiding me here, second i also appreciate knowing that there is in fact a place to look it up. Now, onto the sob story - Im not going to waste time saying im innocent when I dont even know what it is im claimig to be innocent of, however, from reading the list above, I can say Im guilty of NONE of the above. If the automated ban hammer decided to flip out and glitch I can understand that, but at least there should be a messaged indicating whysomeone was even temporarilly banned. Im stil able to join matchmaking games and the like, however, i CAN NOT earn credits. which is horrible considering today was the easieast day to get my weekly challenge accheivement. I would like to know why my account was banned from earning credits. Thats all. I dont need it lifted. I just want a reason.

When you do things like this. Scoring 0 kills, AFK is on the list of things you said you didn’t do.
Hello, I was recently banned in halo 3 for afk deranking. My gamertag is the same as my username and I was just wondering if this will have an effect on halo 4 matchmaking. It was my second offense and the first time I just got a 1 week mm ban. This time I got perm banned :(. I’m not here to fight the ban or act like I’m innocent because I know that I did wrong. However, I did not know a second offense would lead to a perm ban lol. But jumping back to the reason I came here… I was just wondering if this means I am permanently banned from halo 4 matchmaking as well?
I would like to inquire as to why me, my wife (MrsMaskedFerret), and our xbox were credit banned this evening? NO modding, no disconnecting, no quitting. It was her first or second time Playing Halo: Reach, and I have not done matchmaking in a very long time.

I just exited reach and reentered. Both of our accounts said that the ban was ‘temporary’. What does that mean?
It’s been awhile since I’ve played halo games, I recently just started getting back into it with Reach. I played here and there but lately I’ve been playing it almost everyday. Out of nowhere I signed on and my console has a temporary credit ban? It doesn’t say how long it is and I seriously have no idea why. I’m not a cheater, I’m not a hacker or modder, and I don’t quit games frequently. Is there any other reason why I would have a credit ban? This has been going on for almost a week now.

Since Halo 4 is coming out in a few days, my friends and I figured we’d boost our few remaining Reach DLC achievements since those maps NEVER show up in matchmaking. (Still kinda pissed that 343 adjusted the playlists in a way that virtually bars me from ever playing on those extra maps I paid for). Anyways, long story short, we ended up credit banned.
Frankly, I haven’t cared about Reach credits in a looooong time, so it’s not an issue for me. My question then is: does the credit ban span all Halo games, or is it just for Reach? In other words, when I play Halo 4 will I be stuck at level 0 for days and weeks because I’m “credit banned”, or will I be able to progress normally but remain banned solely in Reach??

I know she wasn’t AFK… But really. I just did an experiment in matchmaking. Trying to purposely score 0. I would shoot at enemies till there shield brakes… Then I’d run away and let them live. However every game I did this, the enemy would accidentally kill themselves, resulting in me getting credit for the kill. There is really no excuse for getting 0 kills repeatedly. If skills are truly that low, then please understand… You shouldn’t be earning credits for Ranking up in the first place. Look at it this way, it’s a Spartans job to be lethal, no kills = no pay.
I suggest you guys use this temporary credit ban to train a bit in custom games. Hell, I have fun maps that could probably help you two.
You two seem to have nearly the same skill level.
Play 1v1 for a while till you guys are used to the rhythms or cadences of DMR, Needle Rifle and such.

Who are you to decide who deserves reward for their efforts? If they play by the rules, they deserve to enjoy every aspect of the game, including credits.
To the OP, you were banned because the system agrees with this guy. You get banned if you aren’t good enough.

Ok, banned from matchmaking for abandoning the match!! i didnt even wanted to do so, im Conecting from colombia and the internet here is so bad.
this last game, i was on a ghost, my enemy and a mate where in front of me, i killed both of them, the game kicked me for betraying the teammate and now i cant get in again. This has no sense!!! i got the 360 this week and now im banned, how much is this going to least???
God, i cant believe this!!! i just bought this console for playing halo online, i just played half an hour the campaign, i dont care about that, i just wan to play online!!!

Sorry but what makes you think anyone would have the answer? It’s usually my pleasure to test things and find the answer but to test this I would have to get permanent ban on reach then see if it carries on to halo 4. Sorry bud but that’s not a test I’m willing to do for free. But since you already are perma-banned… How about you see if it carried to halo 4 then come back and let us know.

Just looking for a bit of guidance and reassurance i guess!
I have had a message on the screen when i log into my HolyFireSpartan account which says " this xbox 360 console has been temporarily banned from earning credits"
I also get the message on the other 2 accounts that are used on the console. It has been in place for 2 days now and after reading some of the thread comments i can only put this down to getting zero kills whilst in matchmaking on Reach.
My 6yr old daughter likes to play but bless her, gets zero kills whilst logged in on one of the other accounts when playing online with me. I think i at some point also was signed into a game but had left the console, so i too would have got zero kills.
My question is to those with more experience and knowledge of these things, could this be the reason for the credit ban, and how long could this ban last?
