Thanks for replying so quickly! how did you figure that out, and is there a way to figure out how long the ban is for?

The ban hammer tracks zero kill games as the player being AFK, it is sadly, the only way for it to be tracked, so even though you may be innocent and just had a bad game and couldn’t get any kills, you could get banned for it.
The length of the ban depends solely on if you’ve had past bans or not and how many you’ve had in the past.
If you haven’t had any past bans, then your first will last 24-48 hours.
That makes sense. i have a feeling it was when i stepped out to make a call, the other player on my xbox lllalmondlll started a new game. unfortunate but at least i understand why now, thanks for the help!
Ok my console got banned and my account got banned from getting credits on halo reach would like to know why and hkw long
Buckeye Your console and credit ban would be for the 3 games of grifball in a row on the 10th September where you got zero kills. The banhammer unfortunately detects this type of activity as possible AFKing and flags you for a temporary credit ban. First time ban will last 24 -48 hours, Second time bans can last up to 2 weeks and third time bans can run into months. To stop you from signing in another account and still getting credits the place the ban on the console too.
Normally this isn’t an issue for me, and I’m pretty happy at the General rank anyway, but i’m concerned this is going to keep happening to me sinceI plan to host achievement hunting games for the next week or so for the Defiant and Anniversary ones. To clarify, if we want to get games over as quick as possible (say an oddball game that we had to pick cause Headhunter didn’t show up) we should all just kill eachother at least once?
(I got CR banned last night, and im pretty sure my whole party did too ha)

My guest didn’t AFK…he was just horrible.
If he can’t get any kills, I’m going to get credit banned??
Hey, i just want to know if Cr boosting through Custom challenges (Campaign laser glich) is bannable…back in time i remember Bungie say on this that they where not going to ban someone for restarting his “favourite” checkpoint 1 million times, but i’m not sure if that applies with the new Challanges system.
I now it’s a cheap way to get my Crs but i’m just 1 rank away from Max level and i feel like i played this game even too much. Also, i never boosted before the Forerunner level.
I just want to get the max level before Halo 4 comes out…(who knows, maybe i’ll recieve something).
My campaign progress was reset and my armor was put to default, all is still unlocked, is this result of a ban or something else?
GT- Cheficide
So on Monday, I was playing online (grifball and SWAT) and for some reason, I recieved a ban on credit earnings. I wasn’t hacking and I wasn’t away from the controller. I was actually playing and trying. I want to know why I was banned when I was following the rules and playing fair. Help? I’ve been banned since Monday.
The servers aren’t equipped to detect actual AFKing. The best Bungie or 343i could do is rely on an assumption: if you get zero points in several matches within a short time, the system assumes that you were AFKing.
How long does a credit banned usually last? 10 minutes? an hour? If anyone knows please reply.
First one is 24 hours, second is 2 weeks, third is permenant!
I have always wondered how do people get Cr Banned?
so my wife isnt that good at halo yet and she has several games where she has had 0 kills but she isnt point boosting or anything like that. She just really started playing halo a few weeks ago, so here is my my question, why did she get banned? Is it a crime that everyone that she plays with is higher levels? Honestly this is a major issue. If any one can figure this one out let me know.
AFK is frowned upon and is the main problem everyone has on Reach.
I was wrongly banned, my mom kept giving me more and more things to do and i didn’t even have a second to turn off my xbox because every time i sat back down to play because i thought i was done she gave me more to do still no time to turn off my xbox she did this about 3 or 4 times, so if you guys are refusing to undo the ban hammer how long am i banned for then. that’s something you guys should have the ban notification tell us because it only says temporarily which can mean any amount of time, so can you guys have it say the exact time?

That is your own fault. You deserved the ban hammer.
