hi i was playing yesterday and got a message saying i have been temporarily banned from getting credits i would like to why and for how long
Um yes so i quit like 2 or 3 games yesterday and then i was playing this morning and one of the hosts or myself had a connection issue and booted me back to the matchmaking menu and once i tried to start the matchmaking back up again it said i was temp banned from xbox live. Can this not be overturned or what the hell is going on? Or could i be told how long of a ban i will be experiencing? In all honesty I think that it is complete -Yoink- that I get completely banned from all of matchmaking completely especially for something that I have no control over!!!
Am I not important enough to answer?
If i have been banned i would just like to know why. the reason i think i was banned was cause my cousin came over and brought his hard drive over so he can earn his challenges on a faster internet. if thats the case why have detachable hard drives? i just want to know how long my ban is for and if i should cancel my preorder of the halo 4 hundred dollar package? my gamertag is benny blanco108. thanks for any help i can get as 343i nor any other branch of xbox can seem to give me an answer. ben

I’m going on the 10th day credit ban for a first time offense. Noone will tell me WHY I was banned but what happened to 24 hours ban for first offense?
Last weekend, 8/19 specifically, I was playing Matchmaking with my fiance, who has a GT on the same Xbox, and my brother and his girlfriend with their own GTs, on the Xbox in his room. No modding, no hacking, no BS, just having fun, enjoying the game. Then, I go to play Monday to find that both my tag AND my Xbox are banned from earning credits. I have no idea what I did wrong to deserve it. If I did something wrong, it was purely unintentional and I am truly sorry. I know I most likely cannot remove the ban, but I just want to know how long my ban, for both my GT and console, are for, and an explanation why it was enforced. Thank you very much.
Yeah, this auto ban system isn’t really fair. I got on multiplayer matchmaking (specifically Team Swat) with a friend of mine over live. I had another friend at my place visiting who asked to play with us, even though they are not very good at video games.
My friend logged in as my guest and played with us…and was horrible. Several games with zero kills, and several with maybe 2-3 kills.
No cheating or anything like that was happening, I was just playing with a friend who happens to be REALLY bad at the game; I should not get penalized for that.
Are we only allowed to play in live matchmaking games with people who are good? That’s really stupid and takes all the fun out of the game. We pay to play on live, we should be able to play WHATEVER game type we want with whatever friends we want no matter how bad they may be.
If you look at the game footage you can CLEARLY see that someone is actually playing as my guest, they just happen to suck.
If anyone decides to look at my game history (GT exactly the same as forum name). I do quit matches sometimes. Tonight I only did it once, because 3 out of 4 of the players on the other team quit right at the beginning, and I’m sorry but it is freaking boring to play 4 on 1 and makes it more likely to have a low kill count if you don’t happen to be the person running into the 1 guy on the other team. I think in the last few weeks I may have only quit 1 or 2 matches, for either the same reason or the fact that I couldn’t get back into the lobby fast enough and needed to leave the match for a reason (bathroom break, friend needed a break etc.). Definitely not enough to be cR banned since its not even enough to be banned from matchmaking for quitting which I know can happen if you quit too often.
Also, I’d like to point out, as can also be proven by my game history…I hardly ever play with a guest. Its only when I have friends over who don’t have a live account.
This really should be fixed, or they need to find another way to catch people who are actually cheating.
No one is going to want to play if they get punished for not being a gamer or taking a while to get the hang of playing. I also don’t want to have to tell my friends that they can’t join us because I don’t want to be banned if they fail to get kills, that’s not right.
Please could someone answer our questions or just tell us to jump in a lake. Lot of people out there that are recipients (or victims) of the monster that Someone created although no one claims to be the father (or mother) of the mighty Vulcan. From what I can unnderstand there is NO ONE who can change or ovverride a decision once it has been made and there is no requirement for this system to post the date for return to service. Really now, how hard can it be? But anyway we are “stuck” with the volunteers who only speculate what the reason is and the time it will last. Here I sit, Day 11 or 12 credit banned for God Knows what reason. But I’m working another angle and will post it here for you other “criminals” if it pans out. Maybe we can cut the middle man out! Peace out.
i was banned from halo today coming home from vacation. please get back to me. i have no idea why this happened . ive never been banned from halo or anything. i am very upset!
I honestly dont know why Ive been banned and im very angry and frustrated. Yes people quit games, yes there are people out there who aren’t pros… but we have not done anything wrong to be banned and for god knows how long. I am on a vacation from work for my birthday for a week and a half and just wanted to crack out on some halo and relieve a little stress. Here I am trying to figure out why im being punished and not able to finish the weekly that i have worked my butt off all week long for… this is by no means a foolproof system yet, and if there are not some serious adjustments made, i will be returning my pre-order for halo 4 and the entire halo 4 collectors edition console, and telling all my best buy customers not to bother with halo games. Thank you very little, big guys.
Just to hop in to tell those who have been banned, in this topic, you were never promised a response from anyone official, more noticeably those who work for 343i.
The ban hammer is automatic and appeals are not possible, this topic is purely for asking and if a community member wants to, answer and tell you why, linking to your game history.
Currently, no one can use the game history feature, along with the challenges page, it has been down since yesterday, so no one can tell you why you were banned.
I know it sucks having to wait.
Azmaton72 i will try and help you out here. I have had a look at your game history back from the 14th August when you indicated the ban kicked in. You have had quite a few Team Slayer and FFA games were you got zero kills or only one kill and quite a few deaths. The banhammer unfortuntely detects this kind of activity as possible AFK activity and if you have about 3-4 games with zero kills you will get a credit ban. Looking at your games since then you have had a few times when you have had zero kills in a few games close to each other so i expect the banhammer keeps detecting you as AFK. My best advice if you want to keep playing and drop your credit ban is to camp a little with some power wepaons and try and get at least a couple of kills a game until you get better at it. I know the system sucks but now you know whats causing your ban you can a least work out a way to avoid further bans in the future.
Why was i banned? i was just playing a game with my freind (social slayer) having fun and chilling then suddenly i get banned out of no where and he is fine why did i get banned. I have done nothing wrong the connection was fine and everything i have really good connection i pay like 40$ a month for it. I went on xbox.com support and they told me to post here and see if you could help me so please do thanks. The game i was banned on was halo3 i know this is reach but i got told to post here
Edit: i was banned 8/24 or 8/25
Quick question, utilizing the Custom Challanges to achieve 200,000 Cr daily isn’t a bannable offense is it?
My console in temporarily banned from reciving credits…I don’t know why I didn’t get any kills I am just a bad player but I wasn’t idle I was trying I don’t understand why…
I was temporarily banned from earning credits (account AND console) yesterday. I was playing with my Dad (as a guest on my account) and my brother (using his account on a different console). When my brother logged in, I quit one game that my Dad and I were playing in order to join him in the lobby and play a game together. Later during our session, he put up a fuss about a particular gametype, so we all quit out to the lobby to find a new game. We did not quit again. My Dad (playing as my guest) got about 1 kill a game. Sometimes he got more and once (maybe twice) got 0; I can’t quite remember. After both my brother and Dad got tired of gaming, I played an arena match on my own. During the arena match I randomly received the notice that my account was temporarily banned from earning credits. I had done nothing in that game to make me expect the ban, so I was fairly surprised. At the end of the game, I received a second message notifying me that my console had also been temporarily banned.
My questions are: why did this happen (so that I may avoid it again in the future) and how long should I expect the ban to be in place?
Thanks very much!
ERINgoBRAG25 now the stats are back up i have had a look at your game history from back on the 20th August. You had a few games back to back with zero kills and unfortunately the Banhammer detects that as AFKing. ie: it think you are away and just earning credits for being in the game. I know it sucks but as i said in a post above to avoid this you need to get at least 1 or 2 kills a game or at least some assists to avoid the banhammer detecting you as AFK.
Red Thunder 86Your ban is a result of the guest account you had signed in getting zero kills in several games in a row. The banhammer detects this activity as possible AFKing and first time bans last 24 -48 hours provided you dont keep being detected as having an AFK guest. I know it sucks but that is the way the banhammer works. At least now you know what causes it you can go tell your dad to get some more kills when he plays with you guys.
If he continues to play with you and keeps getting zero kills the ban will just be extended.
UnheardCANo you will not get banned for using custom challenges to reach to credit cap of 200,000CR.
