The most common reason for getting credit banned is for AK boosting. It doesn’t matter how many credits your ‘friend’ got. Why? Because he earned them by playing the game. If you are gaining credits by letting your controller or an extra controller just sit still while games go on, you will be banned for boosting credits. That’s how it is.
I do not believe there is an appeals process because the system only bans after MANY accounts of this supposed boosting occurs- to confirm a pattern rather than just an isolated accident.
First time credit bans are two weeks I believe, In this time, I would advise you just play the game for fun. Credits are not the most important thing in the world, not the game.

First time credit bans are for 24 hours. Future bans after that are of varying length.
That aside, I absolutely agree! Play the game for fun! Sure, it’d be nice to get something for your efforts, but it shouldn’t stop you from playing!

Boosting a friend/AFK
Those are just the three most egregious examples. All of the GRiffball games look like you’re party boosting. I didn’t even have to leave the firt pge of your game history to find this info.
It’s known that there is a number of boosted/AFK sessions that has to be exceeded in order to be banned. Let’s suppose it’s 75. You’ve hit “75” while your friend’s haven’t. Given the number of boosted games I see in Griffball, they’re probably right on the edge of getting banned themselves.
Credits are tied to rank. They have NOTHING to do with being banned. You are able to earn 200k cR a day. If they earn 60k and you earn 40k, neither of you go over and so credits just don’t play a role in getting banned. (More about credits)
Your ban comes down to being naughty and not playing properly. That’s all.
I just got on Halo Reach and found out that my gamer tag and console are both banned from earning credits. I was just wondering what I might have done to get this because I haven’t done anything out of the norm from what I’ve done since Halo 2. Can anyone help?

It doesn’t tell you, but IIRC the ban lengths (in order) are 24 hours, 2 weeks, and… I don’t know what comes after that.
I got a message that told me that not oly my account but my console was banned from earning credits… temporarily. That part seems a bit irrelevant at this point considering I not only havent done anything to deserve my account being banned…certainly not my console too. I am trying to find out what it is i have done to deserve this happening, i will explain in detail all of the halo that I have played today, but i need some sort of explanation here. A ban on my account is one thing, but the console? seems a bit harsh considering i have no clue what i have done, if anything at all. It should also be good to mention that the majority of the games i have played today, although i was the lead scorer, i lost lol.

The banhammer is automatic but builds up a digital case to ensure you were banned for the correct reason, 99.999% of the time, you were banned for the right reason.

It’s not reversible, but not permanent (assuming this is your first offense).
So the automatic ban program is so flawless that it is only incorrect .0001% of the time? Highly doubtful…I’m merely trying to find out why is was banned…who do i need to contact to find this stuff out???
So I was enjoying a great day of halo with my son today. He is very young and still learning how to play when all of the sudden I get a message saying I am banned from earning credits I don’t understand…

Hi - Is there a way I can find out why I got banned, so that I don’t do it again? I won a challenge today, and then got a message that I’m banned from earning points. I don’t know what I did or didn’t do correctly to get this, and it didn’t tell me - just said I was banned. Is there a place I can go? I checked email for a message, but didn’t see anything there. I didn’t knowingly do anything or intend to do anything wrong.
