Why Did I Get Banned - The Official Thread

Does anyone know how I can request a ban?

> Does anyone know how I can request a ban?

You can’t. Please stop asking.

Okay, so I’m a bit new to the Halo forums, so I’m not sure if this is the right place to put this thread. If not, someone please just move it or politely tell me where I can move it.

As for my issue, over the past couple days, every time I’ve got into Halo Reach a message pops up telling me that my Xbox 360 console and account have been “temporarily banned from earning credits.” I received no type of statement or notification from anyone, anywhere telling me why I’ve been banned from receiving credits or how long it would last. It just happened out of the blue a few days ago.

I’ve done absolutely nothing to warrant this ban, I’m just a casual Halo player and want to get back into Halo Reach and earn credits to rank up and have fun. This is hindering my experience. Can anyone help me figure out why I’ve been banned and help me get unbanned? Immediately, if possible, this is very stressful.

I was playing with two friends on slayer rumble pit, not gaining any more points or getting an unfair advantage, now my account is temp banned from earing creds. can it be reversed

I have been credit banned and i don’t know why i have been playing halo since halo began and this has never happened to me bbefore my kids were playing on my system but still this has never happened and they play all the time so im alittle perplexed. Now it is stated that 1 or 2 pulls from a game wont trigger a ban WTF. 10 years thanks.

So I’ve just read a few posts here and figured out why my account might POSSIBLY have been banned. If you play with someone else and they consistently get 0 kills, you can be temporarily banned? Now that is just an idiotic rule.

If this is why I was temporarily banned, I assure the Halo team and everyone that it was for no wrong or suspicious or faulty reason. I brought my girlfriend into the game with pretty much no Halo experience (and not much video game experience in general), and she was trying her best but naturally, not doing so well, and usually not getting very many kills.

I just wanted her, and us, to have fun, so please somebody unban my account immediately, if possible.

My account was temporarily banned and I have no idea why. The match I was playing before the ban was lagging so badly I couldn’t tell what was going on. After the match it said my console was temporarily banned from earning credits. My brother said it could something where I “Disconnected” internet to kill everyone then reconnected. I didn’t do that my internet was lagging to much! Any way to get this lifted?

May also be that I’m an epic failure at halo and got no kills in a sniper match

I am credit banned, and i dont know why. None of my habits have changed my kids play Halo reach and have for at least two years, and me even longer. I have never had any of these issues as far as being credit banned or banned at all in the past with Halo, halo2, halo 3, halo reach. When I purchased my halo games I never heard or was told I could be credit banned. I purchased these games in “good faith” exspecting that i would be entitled to all beifits entitlements achivments ect. why else would I spend 60 dollars for the game. I am requesting that my ban be lifted.

i need to know why im temporally banned form earning credits in matchmaking and my console.

you are the best person to ask on that my friend.

I don’t know if you’re telling the truth or not, but here is my story:

Same -Yoink- happened to me a week ago (temporary credit ban out of ABSOLUTELY nowhere). Tried to call 800-4MYXBOX and it was 3am so the line was down. Got on bungie in the morning to review the last set of matchmaking rules and banworthy activities they released before 343i took over.

On a current Bungie page it says to go to support.xbox.com for issues concerning bans.
On the support.xbox.com ban info page, it says to go to the game developer’s (BUNGIE…) website.

Gave them the benefit of the doubt and figured that they may have forgotten to specify that in Halo Reach’s case, you need to go to the slacker company that bought the actual developer.

Then I review all matchmaking rules available (I’m talking bungie’s old ones, 343i’s half-a$$ed guidelines, xbox live terms of use, EVERYTHING), completely certain that I didn’t misstep on some technicality.

Now I was able to call them out and ask wtfreeeeeeak they did. EXCEPT THERE IS NO PHONE NUMBER FOR 343i.
(GREAT JOB THERE GUYS, WAY TO HAVE NO PHONE OR E-MAIL. I DON’T WANT TO ASK A WHOLE FORUM FOR HELP, JUST THE PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY ARE CAPABLE OF GIVING ME AID)
So instead I call 8004MYXBOX during the day. Spent 2.5 hours describing literally every word of my situation to 3 entirely different people (which is ridiculous as they tell you the call is being recorded when you dial up the number. they could have easily just played the clip of my conversation with tech support failure # 1 twice more rather than make me recount it all verbatim. BUT ANYWAY…). End result is that they said they have absolutely no control over the bans, and they even acknowledged that there is no way to get a person-to-person interaction with a single person at 343i.

With all of my documents (the terms of conditions, all versions of matchmaking ‘do-nots’ ever released, my game history, EVERYTHING), I zipped it up and e-mailed it to Microsoft’s Legal Division threatening a lawsuit for denial of service that I FREAKING PAY FOR.

I don’t know what they did to fix it, as i’d just been fed garbage by xbox customer service that fixing the credit ban was not possible, but they didn’t want to play games with that - my ban was removed in a matter of hours.

Xbox 360 console temporarily banned from earning credits

Then another message:

This account is banned from earning credits.

Now I let my Son play sometimes online (he’s 7) The other night he had a little buddy over and I let them play Grifball. What the could they have done? I was watching them most of the time so I don’t really get it. They both would usually at least get a kill or 2. Then they played some grifball.

How can I be unbanned?

It would be great if you got some kind of reason for the ban.

My account was banned last night from getting any credits and so was my Xbox Kinect console. I don’t understand why I was banned. My little sister and I were playing Swat on Xbox Live and after a couple of games I was banned. I read a post on here that if a person is playing on a guest account and a main player is getting all of the kills while the guest is only getting a couple of kills, the main player is banned. If someone can just get my account and console unbanned that would be very helpful. Thanks

I only had Halo Reach for maybe 2 weeks, and I got a ‘temp banned from credits’, I’m not asking you to remove my ban because I must have been using the game unfairly somehow. I was just wondering if someone on with access could tell me why I was ban and for how long. It would mean a lot.

GT- FonkDoctaSpock

why did i get banned because i have a certain person in my home whom wishes me harm by doing things like disconnecting me during the game and i was fine with temp banns from mmaking because halo systems see disconnections as quits and if possible you ll see never quit volentarily even on 4vs1 i love this game and 15 mns is a long time to me i used ti play everyday before bann but no credits is discouraging anyway im new to xbox live so i dont know if anyone could help me any suggestions?please and thank you

I personally don’t care for being banned for quitting a game I’m being forced to play.If I wanted to play zombies I’d play another title.I didn’t vote for nor do I care to play any of these other game types and I’m banned if I quit.Tell you what.Give me my F’n money back!I payed to play online and now I have to play a gametype someone else chooses or I’m banned?!F’off and give me a refund!

I actually cannot join matches. I am paying for a subscription. I should at least be notified the reason for this or it is a breach of service. GT=JHFerry3

I keep on getting banned for earning credits on halo reach and do nothing wrong and how long does it last

> I keep on getting banned for earning credits on halo reach and do nothing wrong and how long does it last

You fail to get kills, 0 kills in a few matches results in a cR ban

Got a temporary cR ban while playing with my sister-in-law so I looked into what could have caused it; I don’t mod, quit, AFK, boost, etc, so it must have been that she got 0 kills in a few games as my guest. I can see how that would be filtered by the auto banhammer, so I expected a 24-48 hour ban since it was the first time, but it’s been around a week and still no dice.

My questions:
-does the system ever dole out 2-week bans on the first time?
-my sister-in-law is getting better, usually a few kills per game now but not more than 4, does it still think that counts as AFK? I saw that some people only get a few on the guest but that was compared to hundreds (presumably on firefight) as opposed to my 10-30 (we play SWAT)

GT is Blindfire107 for reference.
