I was banned last night and I was playing the whole night. Not a good night for halo for me but I was legitimately playing. Can someone please tell me why I was banned. I have no idea why I would be banned for having a bad night at halo.

Hi, just letting you guys know that i got mute banned, without a warning or anything. I’ll plead my case here. So me and 4 friends were playing team objective, and we beat this team of 5, (who were all in party chat.) And so after we beat them, we all get invited to their game where their best player challenges to a 1 vs. 1, so i accept. I beat him 27-7 or something around there, and after the game he boots me. Then i get messages from all of them saying stuff like, haha we are filing a report on you, etc etc. So i didn’t think much on it, until the very next game my mic isnt appearing and neither is anyone elses. There wasn’t any warning or anything, i just cant talk to anyone unless im in a party chat. So i was just wondering if this is just? I wasn’t even trash talking they were in private chat, as well i didn’t even send profanity in the messages i sent to them afterwards, if they track those you could check. Anyways thats my case, and i feel it was unjust. I’ll post the games here for you to see.

It’s not a big deal, i would just prefer to not have to be in a party to talk, it’s annoying.
edit: And by the way, my account is 7 years old and has never been mute banned. If that counts for anything.
I’m beginning to hate 343 industries. I’m positive that I’ve been banned for the first time from earning point and I heard from this “official” thread or topic that it should be for just 24 or 48 hours. AND I’ve been banned for 4 days. I really want to hear or know something from them about that.
As of July 5th when i logged onto the game it said i was temporarily banned from earning credits. I figured, “Ok i will wait a few days and then get back on.” Well it is now the 11th and it still says that. I figured maybe it was play time but i have played a few games but I am still earning no credits. Does anyone have an explanation they could give me? Since the game came out I have only been temporarily credit banned one other time.
well maybe if you played by the rules instead of boosting you wouldnt be credit banned now would you?
cR bans usually last 2 weeks. Other that IDK, you did still something that got you banned, lol.
Um I logged on yesterday evening, and again now (20 hours later), and it is saying that I have been temporarily banned from earning credits…what have I done to get the elbow from the sky?
I teamed up with some people yesterday to unlock the remaining achievements on this game…is that illegal? If so, I am guilty as charged. Didn’t know that was not allowed.

Hi 343 just thought i would ask you to take it easy on me . I know your using a new IP . my account keeps getting dumped out of matchmaking, and i have to reset my router just to sign back in to x box live . I’m not sure what is going on but it is very hard for me to join a match. and i have been lagging real bad the past 2 days. but when i get into a match some times it starts and i’m the only one in a game and it says i quit. i have never been banned in the 2 years of playing halo and i’m a loyal fan . i just want to know whats up and why in the past two days everything has gone down the drain. on Monday it wouldn’t even let me join a game and it has been happening to Alloutofangst as well we play as a team. we have just been having a hard time playing this week and when i get dropped it says i quit. 
is their anything I can do? my nat is open and everything is green in the networking menu i just dont know what to stop from being dropped. then banned i always try to finish . well let me know please.

I was playing on my console last night with my friend Jaguar569, he is terrible, I think he had zero kills a few times, check the game logs, he was not idle, just a bad player. We played mostly BTB. Mt GT is USCEngineer. Please lift this temporary ban.

It was probably your console and your profile.
As for why you were banned, games like this and this don’t help much. If you’re AFK, you WILL get banned eventually.
I was playing Reach this evening with my son and another friend. My GT is Kenkillya, and my son’s is Jackyfone. He enjoys playing co-op games with me. We finished the campaign a few months ago and tonight he wanted to play Halo. We decided to try some matchmaking. He had never played online matchmaking before. He was having fun even though he got owned constantly. He even got lucky on rare occasions and got a kill. After about 10 games or so BOTH of our GTs and my console were banned from earning credits for an undisclosed amount of time. I’ve never even heard of these bans to be honest. After looking online I figured it was because of his horrible K/D ratio.
There is nothing “naughty” about being bad at a game. He was never AFK. He was constantly moving, shooting at the other team, and of course…dying. I do understand that there are plenty of cheaters that need to be identified and dealt with, but your automatic ban system with no official way to appeal it is garbage. Even if an admin would read this and take steps to lift the ban what is going to stop it from happening again. If this state of the art “banhammer” of yours “leaves an easy to read record”, then you ought to hire someone to read these records before just throwing out bans left and right. Since apparently that isn’t feasible, how about a warning message stating what infraction you are being accused of and that any further infractions will result in being banned. That way you would know what actions were being misconstrued by the system and avoid them. Its common sense really. If I would have gotten a message explaining that my sons lack of kills had flagged him as a bot I would have switched game modes. If I would have been playing a newly released game and this happened I would demand a refund. If this “banhammer” is going to be used to monitor Halo 4 then I expect to see a nice big warning on the package stating, “WARNING: An undisclosed level of skill is required for online play. Players not meeting this requirement will have their account banned!”
I’m sorry if I sound a bit hostile, but I’ve been playing online games for a long time both on the PC and 360 and I have NEVER been banned for any offense. Then both my son and myself get hit with this and the only channel to clear up a misunderstanding is this thread that may or may not be read by an admin.
Today I got a temporary credit ban… Um… WHY? I don’t hack or quit games or even chat for that matter? Not sure what I did to receive it! I had a friend over playing on his own gamer tag and he sucked really bad and had a lot of 0 kill games. Is that why?
I’ve been playing matchmaking with my Dad on my account, him as my guest, and I’ve gathered from the postings that I’ve been banned because he doesn’t get a lot of kills, but he still does get 2-5 most games. He is playing the game, and I have been getting plenty of kills on my side, and he’s still moving around and shooting, etc. I’m posting because I hope I can have my ban removed because nothing funky’s been going on here. Please lift the credit ban on USCEngineer and my console. I understand the reason why I was banned, as my friend Jaguar569 had several rounds of zero kills. I will help train him better offline before we venture back into the realm of competitive matchmaking again. Thank you.
I have a rip off network, when my modem scans i get disconnected and they think i quit, so now im banned from playing online games can this ban be lifted since i usually never quit online games.
