If it’s credit banning most likely you were AFKing a lot. That’s usually why people get credit banned, that or using glitches in the game to boost credits.
First of all, Welcome to Halo Waypoint.
Secondly, this is not the correct forum for this thread, it belongs in either the matchmaking forum or Halo:Reach Forum. The only possibilities for a credit ban was you were boosting or something else.
Within the Halo: Reach forums, there is a topic called Why did I get banned. Post in there for answers.

Hi there, My partner and i have been playing Halo Reach. Our gamer tags are hornyfishiee and PETER JAMES 88 … It says that our xbox 360 and our accounts have a credit suspension on them… why is this? what can i do, i don’t think we have done anything wrong… ??? Will i get my credits reinstated that i have earned today by doing the challenges? thanks! Please please please help or direct me to the right place! Also people are saying it may be because of AFKing… what is it? i’ve read somethings and got the impression it may be you aren’t getting any kills for 6 games or so…?? is that right? if so, what happens if you jut aren’t any good? Are they just going to ban you because you aren’t any good… i can assure you i don’t just leave it on in both mine and my partners accounts to get us banned… please help! please… also I’ve played today and got all daily challenges for once in my life but obviously no credits were earned, am i going to get these???
343 please reverse the banned on the xbox360 console, because i’ve just bought this xbox from my friend and he never told me that this xbox had been banned from earning credits until i finally figured out myself, and since i wasted all my money on this xbox i have only one game which is halo reach, and if im going to be banned for a long time then this is really going to be a long vacation 
Thanks for your reply but sadly no I am definatly NOT lagging. Like I said I am even playing games where my entire team quits leaving me against a full team.
No Failure to Load either although if I had any blemish on my disk it would be a miracle seeing as the disk is never out of the console or case for more than 3 seconds while it transitions from one to the other.

i found out last week.
finishing my giffball games quickly only gets me like 1-2k max credits.
waiting till sudden death to plant every round gets me 12-15k credits.
to be clear im not even sure why im banned? and its been 3 days… does that mean its a 2 week ban?
Im kinda surprised with the lack of explanation as to why i cant get credits.
im the mvp in 9/10 of the games i play and my rank is still fairly low.
How exactly am i ment to not “be a horrible halo player” if im not sure what ive done?

You had LOTS of AFK in FF last year. Seeing a couple of potential boosting sessions in Grifball and AFKing in BTB. You probably just passed the game barrier for bad activity and therefore you were banned.

You were banned for multiple 0 kill games in griffball.
If it’s a first ban, it should be over in 24-48 hrs

AFK is Away From Keyboard/Controller. This type of ban was implemented at the last minute and tracks 0 kill games. It does sometimes ban players that are new or not good at the game. But it also does it’s job and bans the people that are actually AFK. It is temporary, your credit gaining ability should be back in 24-48 hrs. You will NOT get the credits for any challenges you completed while banned. Otherwise there really is no “punishment” if you were AFK.

On the 30th you had multiple Griffball games with 0 kills. Obviously thats being AFK. Especially cause the game before you had 15 kills. If it’s over 48 hrs, you are looking at a 1 - 2 week ban.

It won’t be reversed. If it is a permanant ban on the console, then he was doing some hardcore boosting for a long time. It sucks that you are stuck with the console ban. However nobody can know for sure wether or not you even bought an XBox or if your just the person with the ban saying this.
My suggestion, get your money back from your friend, give the xbox back. And move on.

There’s two reasons for the ban. If I go back farther, I’m sure I can find more, but the problem is going AFK it seems. Boosting the Infection or Grifball lists might also be there, but I didn’t see anything that screams at me “BOOSTER!” so I can’t say it’s that.

Can you read dude? I answered you twice already. And the first post in this thread says that a 343 employee won’t look into it. All this thread is for is to see what you got banned for.
Does the xbox say that you are credit baned when you start reach? If not, then there is no credit ban.
If you do have a ban it will not be reversed. Get your money back.
I was playing today with a guest on my profile and after a few games i received a notice that i was temporarily banned from earning credits and I have no idea why. My husband also plays and he came home from work and he can’t receive credits either so we’re both frustrated. Is there any way I can find out what we did wrong?

Assuming it’s a 24 hour first offense ban, hoping so, because two weeks without my daily challenge credits would be torture.
Reading around, I am assuming it was because she received zero or negative kills in the majority of the games she played, so she was assumed idle? But destroying them in custom games gets boring and isn’t too fun from their point of view, then same with Campaign and Firefight.
So is the only way to avoid these bannings to deny inexperience players online access, because if so, that kind of sucks and something along the lines should maybe be mentioned in the Tips area during matchmaking.
Now to go find, read, and memorize the rules of Matchmaking. Assuming there are some displayed somewhere. Making a lot of assumptions today.

Sadly you both ran into the same problem. I did not look through your histories, but what you describe is something that happens kind of often. Guest accounts with a bad or new player, getting 0 kill, and getting banned.
The AFK system was set up quickly and late after Reach was released. Because players would go into Firefight and let their controller sit there for 20 mins, do nothing and get the credits. To combat this Bungie implemented te AFK credit ban, that only looks at 0 kills (since movement can be faked). Why they didn’t add assists into that equation is beyond me, but it’s the way it was done. 343i (who took over all Halo related media in March 2012) is working on Halo 4, and doesn’t have the time or manpower to rewrite the coding in a ban system they didn’t create or maintain. Your only option is to wait it out. First time bans normally last for 24-48 hours, you can still play during this time, you just won’t gain credits.
For the future, games with adults playing (Mystik) try doing the Action Sack playlist, if I’m not mistaken those gametypes aren’t a part of the “banable” playlists.
Katie- Try taking your 8 year old into Firefight for a little first. I have an 8 year old that plays with me sometimes. Before going into matchmaking, we play a “training course” that I created in forge, then a couple games of firefight. Then just to make sure she gets a kill I stay next to her in MM and protect/break the shields of an opponent. That avoids the ban and makes her feel good.
Can anybody tell me why I got my current two week ban no evident reason no afking nor boosting I just played firefight and multiplayer to get daily challenges done. Then today I was told about the ban. So I cant really figure it out. Thanks in advance.

Could you give a little more info? How do you know it is a 2 week ban? and not a 24 hr ban? When did you recieve the ban? Does the message say your Profile, and console are banned? or just console? If it is just console, what are the other GTs that are on the xbox?
It first says that my console is banned for two weeks from earning credits,then another pops up saying account, mine is the only account and I am the only person who plays on my console or at all for that matter.
